worked for (not MT) went to ADP. The process is probably different now, but I had to fill out paperwork to submit every week that they then entered. My paperwork always balanced, their paperwork never balanced - well it did one time and they sent me a know saying that my information didn't balance. I had to go through all the paperwork again every week, where again it all balanced, and then I had to make sure the checks were right every week. Took me twice as long to do payroll by using ADP as it did doing it all by hand.

I've been with the company almost 10 years. I know the truth. Hawaii was a company-paid vacation.
.
About 6 years ago this company did the same SM
stuff with the pay (and for a period of time didn't pay anyone) and MM from the paid site had to intervene.
25+ years and this is the best company ever!!!
Highly recommend applying!!
There is so much wrong with that company that 100 years
wouldn't fix it.
The company I work for NEVER gives PTO, even after 5 years. I would be willing sm
to wait a year to get it. Right now, I hate taking a day off at all because I am paycheck to paycheck and need to work to make money. If I had PTO, I would not feel guilty taking a day off here and there or even a short vacation.
A few years ago my secondary went to another company and (sm)
evidently some of the office people as well, they in turn gave the new company the names and phone numbers of us who had worked the account and the new company actually called many of us to solicit us as employees. I felt it would have been okay for me to switch, since I had had no control over the account coming or going, but I didn't feel it was right for some of the higher ups to be involved in soliciting us for the new company. If anyone was in the wrong, they were. They shouldn't have shared records and personnel information like that from one company to the other IMO.
Good company for me for last 2 years.
Lots of work. Good pay rate. Management/team leads are accessible. Good feedback. Get paid on time.
Have worked with his company for many years (sm)
The owner is a gem and a very caring person. Pay is always on time, 15th and 30th.
I have worked for the company seven years now
and love the job! The owner works directly with you until you are on your own typing the work, and you have communication with all transcriptionists whenever you need help with something. I never have to wonder if I will get paid, as the check is always sitting in my mailbox within three days after the pay date. There are only a handful of people that work for this company, so it is one of those dream jobs that you never want to let go of after you have it! I have read all of the negative posts regarding this position, and the people who wrote the comments obviously do not know what they are talking about, yet they still seem to feel free in sharing their negative views. What's up with that? It makes me very angry to see that this company is continuously being bashed each time the help-wanted ad is posted, but I guess that type of thing is to be expected from those that know they are not qualified to do the job. Some people are obviously quick to jump on the bandwagon when it comes to bad-mouthing companies after they have tested poorly or are told the work has been given to someone else. If you are qualified for the job, it is one of the best ones out there, so use your own judgement when it comes to applying for work. Otherwise, you might just miss out on one of those dream jobs!
I envy you. 5 years ago at my company I would have said the same thing
Now they are using such unfriendly software, can't fix any of the problems, it seems, and I'm seriously thinking of moving on. The owner hires her friends, and I really don't think anyone is qualified. JMO, of course.
TransTech is the best company I have ever worked for. I have been here two years
and can't say enough good about them. I know that they are owned by some former L&H people. They are adding new accounts like crazy and are always hiring.
I've been there for 3 years - yes, good company
xx
Worked for them a few years ago. Not a bad company. You could do worse. -nm

Established company, started six years ago. They have
not grown at all through acquisition but rather just plain old fashsioned good business.
I have worked for this company for years without problems!!
For those of you that are looking for a good company to work for, this is it. I have not had any problems with Transnet or ExText. For the account I am working on, there are very few ESL dictators and lines are very easy to come by. Regarding Word 2000 or 2002, that is the requirement of the clinic that River City is working on, NOT the requirement of River City. So it would be the clinic you are referring to when you are saying archaic and out of date with their technology. River City has no control over what type of software the clinic uses but only requires that the transcriptionists use what the clinic uses. I would rather work for a company that is good and stable where I can really feel like I am part of a team rather than just some gal out that chalking up lines on some unknown dictation system. Yes, the pay is a little less than the nationals but most dictators on the account I am on use quite a few normals and lines are quick. I would recommend this company over and over to someone that just loves what they do.
I just left a company after 10 years, making only

I have used it for the past 2 years through another company and love it!! nm

I've been there a few years. I think it's a good company.
Although I feel that ALL MT pay is far too low, Acusis pays better than most. Several accounts are teaching hospitals, some regular hospitals, and some clinics. Most of the time they have plenty of work, except right after the Holidays.
I find the management to be VERY nice to work with - a welcome change from my old situation, which was horrible. Excellent techs, too. The SoftScript platform they use works well. Sound quality is good. If you email a supervisor or other person there, I've found they respond in a timely manner.
The pay varies based on the account; more for harder ones, less for easy ones. They ask for feedback from MTs, and are appreciative to get it.
Anyway, judging by what I read on this board about other companies, I think one reason you don't hear much about Acusis is that most people that work for them are happy with them.
You can do a good job and despise the company. I was at MQ for 10 years.
I eventually deservedly despised them, but I did a great job. Otherwise, I would have heard about it. I'm at the Web now, and I agree with those that say they are getting to be just like MQ before MQ imploded and was sold. I don't despise Webmedx, but I don't love them, either. I don't think you can completely trust any of the nationals.
Why not call them and ask? I've been with them for 2 years and love it. Best company
I have ever worked for. There is always plenty of work, pay is decent and on time, and best of all I am treated well. They offer all kinds of bonuses, continuing education pay, vacation pay, reasonable insurance through Aetna, life insurance. Am I getting rich off this? No. Am I paid reasonably well? Yes. Would I recommend Transtech? Absolutely!
Great company... no complaints.. three years and counting....
I just love it. If anyone has any questions, please e-mail me. This is a great place, and as I said many times before - I found a home.
Kelly is a temporary service company that's been around for years. sm
You may not be old enough to remember Kelly girls. They used to be strictly secretarial, but do all branches of temporary work and job placement now. It may be a temp or temp-to-hire position through them, or then I could be totally wrong.
Bravo! Well, said Anna. TT is the BEST company in my 17 years of MTing.
Thank you for standing up for them!
I have worked there for a few years now. Not a lousy company but a very good one. sm
Perhaps you did not meet their standards or perhaps they did not meet yours, but there is no reason for you to be on here bashing those of us that love working for KS. If you have specifics, please share. I will:
Good pay, on time every time.
Good account with plenty of work.
Good benefits.
Managers that are human and know that the employees are too.
Owners who care about the company and employees. They are involved but less and less with employees as they grow. Instead, they have hired managers that are great so that they can concentrate on sales and customers.
Growing company with no lost accounts, which is more than most can say.
Opportunity for advancement.
IT helpful and caring, especially since the major change in that area a few months ago.
I love my job and I'm not in Illinois either; I'm in Florida.
Haven't found a great place yet . . ., was with last company three years.
Just new this internet thing.
My company lost the account I had worked on for 5 years. Webmedx got the
account so I followed it. I have interviewed with about a dozen companies the last year and out of all of them the only ones I considered were Keystrokes and Webmedx.
I left MQ after years and went with a highly rate company on this board (sm)
my account has dried up and I am constantly out of work now...same with backup account. I like the company I'm with and don't want to leave but I HAVE to have a steady account. I realize there are slow times of the year but on this account they have overhired and now it's low a lot of the time.
I'm at Webmedx after 10+ years at MQ. Good company. Plenty of work. SM
Pay is direct deposit and on time. You have a 12-hour window and 35 hours is considered full-time. I cleared QA review in less than a day, and they leave me alone to do my job. Benefits are affordable. I don't need the insurance, but I understand it's pretty good. Don't get much PTO the 1st year, 3 days. If you know you will need to be off ANY time in the first 6 months or so, tell the recruiter. Line rate is fair and you can negotiate. They have a bonus/incentive plan that allows you to earn good money. Seems like no place is great these days, but they are probably as good as it gets. Feel free to E-mail me if I can help you out.
8+ years for me (Rodeer days pre-Wbmx merger) and best COMPANY EVER. NM

It was a great company before othey sold out to Medquist years back.
Now it's crap.
webmedix- I have 25 years exp., was offered low rate of pay. Heard it is a good company. nm

Just took a test today for a company and I am amazed how rusty I am after not testing for years and
years. I had to really think about things again. I guess after you test enough you get used to it. That is the first one I took in about 13 years. I just more or less did it to see how it was. Should be interesting to see how it went because I really dont want to work for the company I just wanted to take the test. A lot of tricky questions in it.
Anyone know of a company looking for 13 years experience to work flexible part-time shift
I'm getting my real estate license but still want to keep my transcription job part-time. I'm looking for a job that will allow me to work about 20 hours a week and still have the flexibility to show a home on the spur of the moment. Thanks, I would appreciate any info!
Isn't Wal-Mart the company that lied/replaced labels several years back with Made in USA? nm

Glad that's true for you for 8 years. Not true for many. I love the company, but I do run out of
as do many others. Wish I were as fortunate as you.
I talked to them today. They want 3 years in a hospital or 5 years combination sm
hospital and at home or clinic and at home. For radiology, they want 3 years full time radiology. I thought they were very nice and I have a few friends that work for them and are happy. The pay seems average to high for what I am seeing now. I think they are 0.08 per line or 1.08 for radiology. Beats what I will have with the new MQ program.
Honda is 11 years old, 190,000 miles . Toyota was 15 years old and 279,000 superb

I worked on site for many years. I've been doing this for 10 years... sm
I've worked on site, at home, for small MTSOs, for nationals, for hospitals. I've been paid per line, per minute, and per hour. I've been an MT and a QA. I have ALWAYS worked weekends and ALWAYS worked nights for the shift differential because MTs can't survive on 6 or 7 cents a line. At least I can't and I type 105 wpm.
I've BEEN dedicated from day 1, sister, so you are barking up the wrong tree.
15,000 lines per pay period. 8 years with KS, 6 years on this account! nm
Not going anywhere else!
30 years - this WAS my career. The last few years you guys have ruined it.
You work 9-5? Big deal. I work more than you do. I bet I work harder too. Treat US with respect, lady!
Don't talk to us like that and don't expect us to kiss your feet. Kiss ours for a change!
See if you'll be producing more after 30 years of MT'ing and at 50+ years old.
I don't think so. My income increased every year also, until I reached age 50 and 30 years of MT'g, been downhill ever since.
It wasn't tough 5 years ago. Or 10 years ago, yet
How to you spell
G-R-E-E-D ???
All the shifty, dishonest, greedy pigs in this country belong in JAIL.
Did MTfor 10 years; QA for 2 years and now
doing editing of speech/voice recognition. I find all three to be very different. MT you start with a blank page or a template, QA you have the whole document and you need to give a good quick read and check for correct name, MRN, formatting, and all blanks, etc., and if you know the MT you do not necessarily need to give the whole document voice to typed - editing is a whole 'nother thing. From what I have seen so far - you have a document and you cannot count on anything being correct - you need to change almost everything in some cases - which is more difficult than a blank sheet as there is a lot of deleting and it is confusing. It can be helpful because some of the medical words are in there and some of the drugs can be correct - and although I have found easier on the wrists some days - still very, very difficult. You must match exactly voice to type because you cannot count on anything to be correct - JMHO
I think it just boils down to years and years of
If you kick a dog often enough, it's going to not only turn on you, but other dogs as well. Even though I made more money as an in-house MT, our managers were the worst. All greedy, self-serving women who lied, cheated, and made their way up the management ladder by stepping on those of us who worked under them. They created hostility, distrust and ill will in the office by pitting MT against MT (I suppose they figured it would keep the MT's from turning on THEM!), and the suspicion it bred created a hostile workplace like no other. I finally couldn't take it anymore and quit to work at home, for less than half the money. I'm lucky - I have an employer that at least treats me well, even though the pay stinks. But from what I've read here, that isn't the norm at all. So it's little wonder so many at-home MT's are ready to chew someone's head off. They're tired of being lied-to, cheated on line counts, disrespected, and at the same time expected to produce more and more work, with little to no mistakes. So it's little wonder we're all a mite cranky.
Some of us have been at MDI for years and years. Why should we have to start all the way at the bot
x
They do not offshore. The owner's original company was bought by MQ; started a new company, whic
That's about all I know. I would give them a try. They sounded good!
Great company. I've been recommending this company for a long time.

Must be a small company. I have never talked to the owner of the company I work for. sm
He wouldn't have time. Why would someone talk directly to the MTSO? Most do not know (or care) about the details just the big picture.
I hope my company flies under the radar. This is horrible what happens to one company sm
after another on this board. The owners must have very thick skin. First TT, then Amphion, now Keystrokes. No one is safe. I hope everyone takes all they read with a grain of salt. I have met a few of the owners of the some of the bigger services, and they are all very nice, including those that own Webmedx, Keystrokes, Execuscribe, Medware, MDI and Transcend. I hate to think how they feel when they read things on here, even though they all say they don't read the posts here and advise against it. I don't know how they don't read them; I look just to make sure that no one mentions mine.
Maybe QA made the decision, not the company, and the company managers are not aware of it. sm
I started with a company that did the same thing. When I went to the manager outside of QA, she fixed it right away. Turns out that the QA manager had made a decision to do that and had not told anyone else.
It does make sense to do that though. Find out if it is a few days or longer and base your decision on that.
Can we ask which company or at least which state they're out of?
Unfortunately, I am going to be looking AGAIN due to offshore.
or maybe it's really a good company. Give me a break. If a company isn't talked about sm
on here, good or bad, it's probably too small to matter and does not offer benefits or anything at all.
