Who here is required to type 1800 lines on a daily basis for FT work?
x
1800 lines so far and have 3 more hours to go in my shift.
.
I know you need to type 1800 lines a day in order to get 11 cpl.
x
oh and they have incentive if you type over where they add $$ to your hourly rate for all hours work
nm
My weekly paycheck was $1800 before taxes - IC work. sm
It can be done with own accounts working no more than 8 hours a day!
clarification - oh no I can't type 8 hours straight
with that average... Actually I can't even type 4 hours straight with that! I wear down after a couple of hours. So what I do is I will type and really tear it up for a couple hours straight and take a nice break, do it again for another couple hours, take another break. Fortunately (at least until December 31 anyway...AKA the foreseeable future lol-inside MDI joke) I can do this because of my 24-hour window. I'm going to have to come up with a new game plan as to how I do my work once I have to stick to a set 8-hour schedule.
Are you required to type 2400 lines in eight hours? Only
aa
Sorry, I work 15 hours a day 5 days a week and 5 hours the other 2, when I come here I dont proof.
nm
the day has 24 hours, I work only 6-8 hours, so, lots of time to post...nm
nm
Probably varies by account, but 24 to 48 hours
x
all type account
They came close to losing account due to backlog. They are caught up but overstaffed. Some reorganization taking place - not good.
I am not FT hours but FT lines. It depends on the account. sm
I know that my Basic 4 account is number of lines within a certain time frame. It wouldn't hurt to try!
it depends on type of account, if ops, then
nm
What type of account? Can you email me?
I am concerned. I was told that there was a lot of work, that it is a big account that I was just hired for. I hear good things and bad and it can be really confusing!
Same deal here with DQS. Same account on DQS, same dictators except takes at least 2 hours more per
day to get same amount of lines as the old DOS platform. So tell me what is going on here. Nobody will tell me there isnt something going on. Too many MTs saying exactly the same thing. Of course you will hear MQ disgusting saying, only you have this problem. Yeh, me and 1000 other ones. I wish they would come up with a new line. I am sick of that you are the only one.
It will pick up. My account is 2 hours behind me timewise, so I figure sm
everyone is still waking up out there. It usually picks up in the afternoon and evenings, which is when I usually work anyway. If you are truly concerned, maybe you should call the office. They do care and will try to help.
Good luck!
What account or type of account are you on? nm
10-15 an hour for 8 hours is better than nothing for 8 hours when there is no work.
x
What type of account are you on? What problems have you run into? I am supposed sm
to start with them next week and this has me worried. What kind of rule changes?
Have you been there long?
I type on an account that uses Allscripts. Find out if they sm
are still going to be doing dictation and need an MTSO. Maybe you are panicking for no reason. I know that Keystrokes does several accounts that use the Allscripts platform. I don't think they own it; they just use it.
What type of account please? Approximately, one year
ago they had some MAJOR internal changes and things were never the same.....Left because of lack of work over and over and over....the pocketbook just couldn't take it anymore. Best wishes.
That's exactly what I was going to say. Yes, I work at least 12 hours a day, sometimes 15 hours
to get all of my line count in because I have so many interruptions in my day. There is no way I would tell my company this nor expect them to pay me OT that they never asked you to do. Unless, I was called by my supervisor and asked to work extra for OT, I would never just take it upon myself to work and expect to be paid. If you were not authorized to work OT, then your not getting paid. Point blank. I do not work at TT, but I have worked at enough jobs, at home as an MT and otherwise outside of home, that all have the same policy, your paid OT when your asked to work it. It's it is just a case of not being able to get your required line count in 8 hours, then maybe your in the wrong profession or possibly just the wrong company/account for you. This just seems bizarre to me. Just tell yourself, your not getting paid for OT because they aren't approving it so don't work it. Again, if you were asked to work OT, told it would be OT, and then they ask you not to record it, I'd pitch a fit, but from what I see, you've done this on your own.
Then when we MT's are **thrown on** an account because of lack of work on our account
What is so hard to understand about that?
Then we have that account info filed away in a folder in our Outlook Express by name of account and can look at past emails sent out regarding that account. Not fun to be tossed on an account that you have never seen NOR ever received an email on. Sounds like business to me.
Why would anyone work 8 hours a week. The poster above said 16 or 24 hours a week.
:
All nationals I work for you only work 40 hours unless they approve overtime.

I used to work for a company who separated the MTs by work type daily. sm
regret ever leaving that company. we had a max of 4 MTs typing a large training hospital with clinics. i was assigned consults and discharges with consults being my priority. another MT had ops and admits, etc. it worked so much better. we were RARELY out of TAT and each of us were trained on other report types for backup in case someone need to take off. not to mention that we were easily able to learn the ESLs because we got them repeatively enough to learn them, set up templates, etc. much, much more productive for us as MTs, for the company as work flow, and i am sure for the dictator because they got someone who knew them and their dictations well enough to be accurate. i don't understand why large MTSOs cannot comprehend how much more beneficial that would be.
You too? I was always a 1800-2000 SM
line producer daily until I worked for them. 1200 and it was taking me 9-10 hours to get those 1200 lines. Something is wrong with their line counting.
I usually get 1800 to 2000
.
Gee, if you didn't do 1800, someone else could
.
Isnt it sad. We just want to go to work every day on our shift, work our 8 hours and be done with it
Instead I sit here hours hoping the Indians leave some work for us so we can at least get our 8 hours in. Nothing like logging onto you shift and being told no work. Nice.
they cant "make you work certain hours" but they can find someone that is willing to work them
If not, they dont have to hire you as IC or anything for that matter. So yes it is perfectly legal.
If she hires you as an IC and it doesn't state in your contract when she needs that particular IC coverage and she then dictates what hours you work, she cannot do that.
But she can refuse to hire you if you don't provide the coverage that she is looking for.
My account has lots of work..ask for another account/nm

1800 lines a day is not much when making
That is exactly why I left Transcend. They try to make it look like people can make double what they did straight typing, but it's a crock. Lots of new people were hired at 10 cpl, but you don't earn 10 cpl for editing on BeyondTxt. Calculate what your earnings would be with the rate reduction at 2000 lines per day, which when I left was 55% of normal line rate with no incentive, and calculate what your earnings would be at 1700+ lines a day at 0.085 cpl, but don't forget the incentive rate, which at 1701 lines would have been 0.0075 cpl. Which way is actually making more money?
I've heard that the current rate for editing is 60%, maybe it's gone up. I don't know, but even at 70% a person making 1700 lpd straight typing would have to produce 2210 lpd editing just to break even, and it still wouldn't even be breaking even because the person is still losing the incentive bonus. Transcend's pay restructure benefits Transcend because they no longer have to pay as many people the higher wages they did with straight typing. It still amazes me that so many can't see that. Even if the BT program was the best thing since sliced bread, which it is NOT because there are so many problems with it, there is no way to make more money with editing unless the person is a low to mediocre producer. If you normally produce anything more than 1200+ lpd, Transcend really isn't the company to make money with because there are so many other companies out there that pay much higher. It all depends on what you're looking for.
What are they asking for, 1500/1800 lines a day, or more? nm
s
I do not work for them, but I have done recruiting for companies of their type of work
It is A LOT different than regular medical transcription. The pay is a little less (unless you are proficient and fast), but the work is harder in that there are multiple people speaking and the nature of the medical advisory boards are quite detailed. I receive quite a few resumes of medical transcriptionists wanting to do this type of work, but when you test them, it is a whole different ballgame.
Good luck and let me know how you do on the test!
I can cut it, I do over 1800 lines in 7 hrs. I think I am the great employee. nm
.
What hours do you work?
Also, which days? I was thinking of applying with this company. Maybe you could switch your schedule around a little.
They do want you to work the hours (sm)
you have committed to. If you do that, you shouldn't have any problems making your lines - minimum 6600 per week.
How many hours do you work
between the 3? I have enough trouble working part-time at one and taking care of 3 kids, a dog, my house and husband. How do you do it?
I work 35 hours
The schedules used to be based on 35 hours a week, 172 lines per hour. I don't know if this has changed with the new account. It is something you need to discuss with the recruiter/supervisor on your interview.
I type well above 12,000 lines per pay period. So, it is definitely possible.
and how many hours do you work...100? LOL
x
I only work 6 hours a day - M-F. nm
x
They can get away with it, if they need someone to work those hours
then they can give the work to whoever is there to do it. If you contract to paint someone's house, you are going to do it when they say you can not when you want to do it. The customer has a right to expect something done when they want it done, not when you want to do it.
No IC should have to work set hours.
That is absurd. If there is any sign of control such as set hours no matter whether these MTSOs like to word it nights and/or weekends equals employee status. Be very careful of these MTSOs who are getting away with paying an IC to be an employee. PHewee...
i would want to work more than 40 hours is what
I just need a certain amount of lines since they only start out at 8 cpl!!
There isn't enough work for 35 hours. nm
Maybe she wants a PT job so she work her hours
around her husband's schedule, so that she won't have little kids interupting her work (which is what I do). Don't be jealous just because you can't do it with kids, because there are those of us that are good enough to handle it.
Have to work all hours to try to get my sm
lines in.
You CAN work over 40 hours you just
can't put it on your time card
You have to work hours that are the best sm
for you and your family. If your family time is important then work your hours around it. I would pick fly s**t out of pepper before I would lose my precious family time. It is more important to me than money. The trolls on here can drop dead or go back to wherever they came from.
I have been a MT for four years and I make $1800.00 per month. I am happy with my pay at this
stage
