I've been there almost a year.
Anything special you want to know?
That's odd. I've been there a year and only
ran out of work once.
I've been there less than 1 year
and make 8.5 -- I started at 8 and then was raised up to 8.5 after I was done with training and probation. I am told I will be elligible for a raise to 9 after 1 year. The company is VERY nice. It is based on production, not hours. I average 16,000 lines every 2 weeks. I'm on ortho and don't have a set shift -- I have 3 doctors assigned to me and I just have to have my work done within 24 hours of downloading.
i've been with them about a year
and very very seldom have work flow problems. I think its the best place there is to work.
I've been with them for a year --
and I'm quite happy. My pay is not the greatest, but I have a good account, they're fairly flexible and the benefits are pretty good. I've never been this happy overall with a company and the account I'm working on.
I've been there not quite a year and don't know him, but
if he is still there he is not in QA.
I've been there for a year now
last time I checked I lived in Georgia (the state, not the country!)
Our tech support is located in India...but so is Dell's, Microsoft's, most of AT&Ts, should I continue the list?
If you're 100% anti-India then yeah, don't apply. But if you want a job with a decent pay and not a lot of stress, then apply. We have issues like any other company, but they are always willing to work things out and they do take what the MTs have to say into consideration.
I've been there a year
I enjoy it. Work is pretty steady, slows down around the holidays sometimes. Every now and then things get hectic, and the tech support and file support is in India, so talking over the phone is sometimes difficult but that's just because of different accents.
They are growing as a company, so sometimes we have to work together to get bugs worked out, but they listen to our ideas and opinions, and understand when you have family emergencies, sick kids, etc.
Like I said, I've been there for a year, and I'm not one to stick around a job if I don't like it, MT or otherwise.
Good luck in whatever you do!
I've been with OSI almost a year
My QA scores are consistently 98.9 to 99.6. I don't feel their QA is unfair or stringent. In fact, it seems they don't really sweat every comma, but rather are looking for a correct quality report that doesn't contain any terminology errors or major grammar/punctuation errors.
I've worked for MDI over a year now

I've been there over a year at 7.6 cpl (statutory)nm

I've worked there for over a year
yes we have Indian counterparts who handle our IT department, but our MTs are in the US. At least I'm pretty sure Georgia is in the US last time I checked....
I like the work, everyone I work with is pleasant, a few hiccups along the way but nothing crazy.
But hey, to each his own. Last time I checked just about every other US company had their IT based out of India, the Philippines, etc., but I don't see anyone going after them!
I've been doing that for a year, and HATE it.
So I'm looking for something else, some type of office job. Unfortunately, that's the way the MT biz is these days. The MTSOs make these ridiculous schedules because it's easier for them than trying to get people to work on weekends, in my opinion. You will also notice that the people in the office work M-F 9-5, with all holidays off.
I've worked for them since July of last year...
and I started out with Express Scribe software and no foot pedal. They never told me that I had to buy anything and they did provide the AAMT BOS, and medical spellchecker, and drug dictionary amongst other stuff that I am too tired to think about at this point. Just an FYI.
Don't know if they've ever raised their pay above 7 and 8 cpl. It's been that rate for year
s
I have been there for 1 year now...love the account I'm on but....(sm)
this summer my account was running low on several occasions. I have been trying to get a second account since July and I can't get one. I would be making great money there too if I had a backup account. Today I had a grand total of 543 lines, yesterday was 948. I can't live on that so if it doesn't improve I will have to look elsewhere. I love the place too and do NOT want to leave but obviously I need more than 543 lines in a day.
A YEAR?? You're kidding, right?

What they mean is that your PTO hours do not start to accrue until you've been there a year. The

I've had concerns for at least a year. I'm a long-term
QTer so I have seen lots of changes. Not that I expect anything, but we've always gotten something for MT week and this year not even a card and the whole stink over Christmas. The IRA thing doesn't have me really concerned. From what I understand they only hire ICs now. I know they've had some long-term people leave who might have been employees, so it might not be cost efficient to continue the program. I haven't had a raise in several years and these days I'm just glad to have a paycheck. I don't know how much of the work is being offshored, but you would think that would free up some $$, unless they have had to hire extra QA people. I like not having lots of e-mails/phone calls, but I also would like to know what is going on. I denied for months they were offshoring, but when I got proof it was a slap in the face and I felt like we should have been told about it. There seems to be plenty of work on my account so the offshoring hasn't affected me directly. So far the checks are always on time and have never bounced.
Things have definitely changed and I don't think for the better, though I've interviewed with several companies lately and haven't found one yet that is better than QT. I just try to do my lines and be thankful for a paycheck and just accept the fact that the company will never be what it was.
I've only been there a year. I like it. Was with YOG, eaten by MQ for 10 years and then with Futu
As others have said, no company is perfect, but Webmedx has a nice incentive plan, and you can make decent money and acquire decent benefits. I have received positive feedback from my supervisors there--a rarity in this industry. My only concern with them is, like all MTSOs, they seem to overhire at times. I have 3 accounts--and would be happy to take more--but I have run out of work a couple of times this year that were not the typical times were all expect. Good luck to you.
You'll get over the good feelings. I've been here over a year now. (sm)
And if you had seen the subtle changes they have been making, you may agree they are moving in the direction of becoming the new MQ (pre sale to India).
Great place to work. I've been there a year.
Exactly what do you want to know?
This was sometime last year. I bet they rotate this account around so new people always don't
s
What type of account please? Approximately, one year
ago they had some MAJOR internal changes and things were never the same.....Left because of lack of work over and over and over....the pocketbook just couldn't take it anymore. Best wishes.
You're the one that quit about a year ago, aren't you?
nm
No, you're in the year 2008, where the results of
most kids being raised in daycare with 2 parents working 24/7 are showing. Kids are a mess and the American family is a total mess, divorce rates 50%, our country going down the tubes, and YES a lot of it has to do with kids being left on their own while mommy works and goes to school, etc. I don't know the answer, but for sure the results being disastrous are evident all around you. I stayed home with mine and am more than pleased with the results. Just because children survive and grow into adults does not mean that they are healthy and happy adults.
AccuStat...any new info? I've read the archives that are a year old...
We're just makin more money every year, and you didn't know it. :) nm

Marilyn - thank you (sm)
I had worked on an 800 number for years on a Dictaphone, and never had a problem. It just never hit me it might be the hospital. I don't really like the platform either but I love the account (I'm new too) and I love the support of KS, so I'll hang in there too. Again, thank you.
To Marilyn
Thank you for the words of encouragement. I had heard good things about this account from the person who was going to train me, and although offered another account if I preferred I told them I wanted to work on this one. So at this point I would feel foolish saying I now want to switch (since it has only been a few days). How long did you wait before asking to change? Also, what schedule do you work? When you switched were they able to give you the same schedule, or one that you wanted, for another account?
To Marilyn
I meant to ask, who is the client lead. I only know a few names at Keystrokes.
FYI-- Marilyn did NOT go back to
MQ, she merely stated she was contemplating it. They have had issues with some KS accounts, and are trying to work out the bugs. She is more than willing to give them a bigger shot than normal, because of NOT wanting to go crawling back into the cesspool. And, there are no big LD issues that I know of
Plus I just saw a post from Marilyn
to MQ already and I do believe she was working for Keystrokes. Keystrokes has posts on long distance issues and platform issues (using Meditech which is horrible). I agree with your post.
To: anonMT Re: Marilyn's
to post on unless you work there: Here it is.... So what do you think? She is going back to MQ or she wouldn't be allowed to post there.
Posted by marilyn on MQ board:........Well, I never thought I would say or do this, but I'm probably coming back next week. I went to a different company, tried working another platform. Nothing is faster than DQS. My first paycheck for 8 days work is $211. I think that is about $3.00 an hour - their system had some problems with lag time, knocking us out of jobs, etc. I have never been so frustrated in my life. The Q is looking pretty good right now. I hate ASR rate cut, I hate looking at CP's all day long, but at least the typing is fast and everybody is on the same platform. By the way, MQ insurance is a lot cheaper than others out there too. You don't realize how much better some things about MQ are until you don't have them anymore. Flame me if you want to, but I'm looking forward to coming back.
Marilyn's post
Read you own post more carefully: Probably going back there... does not mean she up and went back. Geesh! This person is a friend and co-worker of mine, and know for fact that she has NOT gone back. No one wants to wade in that cesspool again. As for not being able to post there, no one is sitting here telling me I can't. Rules were meant to be broken, occasionally
marilyn - just wanted to see if you
decided to stay with Keystrokes? I saw last week where you posted you might be headed back to MQ. Did you decide not to or are you still undecided? Email if you don't want to post anything on the board. I understand.
Since you've only been there 4 weeks, you're
were from disgruntled ex-employees or if they had valid complaints. It's really easy to say the sky's not falling with 4 weeks under your belt. It's an almost sure bet that you won't be there in 4 years, maybe even 40 weeks. General concensus is after 6 months, attitudes start to change, if it takes that long. I gave it 4 years before I quit believing the posts praising Transcend and telling me to hang in there, it gets better. I figured after 4 years of not seeing it get better I had enough proof I wasn't a disgruntled employee.
I've BTDT. I'm sorry you're going SM
through the same thing. Here is my advice (for what it's worth). I would not actually quit until you find a new job. Then, respectfully, let the old company know that although you feel bad about leaving them that you have to give 2 weeks notice because there is just not enough work to pay your bills. You could also say that if they do not need you due to low work volume that you could quit effective immediately, but that due to professional courtesy you would be happy to complete 2 weeks (something along those lines). Just be polite about it. They know that the majority of us work for a living and cannot expect us to continue to work for a company that does not have work.
Good luck to you!
Chickadee
Only comment I've ever seen is that your pay will never go up from what you're
s
I know where you're coming from. I've done QA (sm)
and it's frustrating. I'd rather do transcription than QA.
But at any rate, you might want to check out Precyse or Axolotl.
LOL - you're getting MY account SM
my hospital account is switching over to Axo and you'd better believe they outsource. They quoted me 7 cents a line - I have been doing these doctors for 12+ years now with pretty much 100% accuracy. I lost the account earlier this summer for 1 week, but they came back because of major quality issues - sounds like Axo got that ironed out, but again, they DO outsource.
Must be on a different account than I am - i've never run out of work with Amphion!
.
I've been on same account 4 years; lots of OT lately.
nm
The only time I've seen this, it was a brand new account sm
The whole team had to go on QA and be released one by one. It was time-consuming but I guess the client had demanded it.
you're in the minority if you've gotten all those raises...
You're the only person I've ever heard of who has gotten not only *a* raise, but raises every year. Even management people will tell you that they do not give regular or scheduled raises. I've asked every year I have been with Cymed and now with SPi and have gotten a grand total of 1 raise, and that was only because there were extenuating circumstances. More power to you, Jamilynn! :D
They're working on it? You've waited on them for 6
forget them. Unless, of course, you like being strug along.
Of those, I've only worked for MDI-MD, and they're GREAT...
Good luck on your decision. Sounds like you have some great opportunities from which to choose. Go with your instincts and I'm sure you'll do fine.
You're correct when you say we've allowed ourselves
to be doormats. I think we're ALL guilty of that.
The big question is, HAVE WE ALLOWED THIS TO GO ON FOR TOO LONG? Have we reached the point where, even if we all join forces and stand up to the MTSO's, things won't ever change?
No one knows the answer to that yet, as we all still allow them to push us around, and haven't yet started to push back.
The only way to learn the answer to that question is to START PUSHING BACK.
'But, I might lose my job!'
So what? You're ALREADY losing it. To India. To Pakistan. To The Philippines. And soon, to China. You're losing your job by being PRICED OUT OF IT. When your wage reaches a point (if it hasn't already) that you bring in les than it takes to pay your bills each month, you will LEAVE MT and do something else.
But what if you love MT? What if you're good at it? Just loving MT is no reason whatsoever to settle for being paid practically nothing to do it. Your love and dedication to the profession is something that your employer knows you have, and is taking 100% advantage of.
The only thing they've proven is that they're
actually it depends on which account you're on
