I think majority of negative comments start when work is low and
they start looking for another job. I, for one, would rather be too busy and have to work an extra hour or 2 than not to have any work. Overhiring is the death of all of us, since we do not have a guaranteed income unless you are a team leader or hourly employee.
Failure to pay on time is another large problem that will produce negative comments.
If companies were actually above-board with the problems at their company before the hiring process is completed, a lot of this could be avoided.
Type in "Interpro" on a search here and you'll see the vast majority of comments

Just how many companies have you worked for? You seem to have comments on all of them, all negative
perhaps it's time to look in the mirror and fix what is wrong with YOU. You have such a negative attitude, I doubt you will be happy anywhere. Check the past few pages of reports and see how many posts this person has made about just about every company mentioned. SHEESH.
Better do a boad search as most comments are very negative. They used to be TSI. nm

Very disheartening for MTSO's to see negative comments
It does not encourage me to come up with new carrots to dangle. Please... give us your wish list.
SoftScript - look in the archieves. Very negative comments.
Doesn't seem like a well run company.
A search shows very negative comments and you have to use their computer. nm

Gee, I only make negative comments about companies I've actually worked for
and have the scoop on. I never said the line rate was high for this company, but nice fast software is what saves a good MT's line count. There are plenty of ESLs too, but no more than most acute care hospitals. So if you can't handle ESLs, you wouldn't want to work for TT (or most other hospital accounts). The new accounts are not teaching hospitals, which is good for me because I don't like doing residents. For now there is plenty of work and OT when you want it. So IMO a starting line count isn't the only important factor for how much money I can make, and certainly not the only factor in my job contentedness. They are fair and respectful and use good software, and those are the facts, not theories.
Try to be less negative? There is only negative here. It is a depressing way to start the day but

Why so very few comments regarding Diskriter? Are comments by employees not permitted SM
on public forums. I have always been interested to see comments on this company, as they are constantly advertising and seem to have an attractive employee package. Unfortunately, never seeing comments on MT boards makes me extremely uneasy. I'm sure they could have stipulations in their contracts that prevent them from commenting, but even so I would expect to see good or bad comments even from ex-employees. Hmmm? Plus, if the anonymity is supposed to be in place on these boards, how can it hurt for employees to make a general comment, good or bad?
The majority
of their accounts are NOT online yet, most are still C-phone or Lanier.
The majority of them do. There are still some that
don't, but the list is growing all the time of the ones that do.
I agree. I think since the majority SM
of the workers in this field are female, they are hesitant to take action to preserve their financial stability and just sit and wait for things to get better (they almost never do).
For the majority of tests, you HAVE to go by
BOS2. No way you can pass it if you are not following the rules.
Heartland - Majority of the US accounts
were sent to India. They lost the account I was working on (FL account) and now I am pretty sure we are going to get let go...
The majority of them offshore. The list will be
much shorter if you ask what companies don't offshore.
For a few works okay, but majority have problems sm
sooner or later. Can be fine one day and next day can be sick to death with vomiting, diarrhea, obstruction, on and on. Have seen it too many times. A friend I know had to stay in a nursing home for a year after her surgery from major complications. She still is not right, plus she is fat again.
I think this surgery is just a quick fix kind of thing and not anything that lasts for long. There are still too many unknowns about it and other risks over a long period of time.
It is 90 days, just like the majority of companies. (nm)

Sounds like TransTech and it's NOT how the majority of accounts are. nm

I wish the majority of sheeple in this country would wake up and

Oh so true. The majority of recruiters I have emailed (sm)
either don't give you the courtesy of a reply, or when they do get around to it 6 months later, you're already working somewhere else. I like your idea, but I don't think it would succeed. If they can't take 15 seconds to reply to receipt of your email with an automated message, I highly doubt they would reserve time out of their day to give attention to us on boards such as these.
Actually, you should be MORE amazed at the fact that the majority of our profession has been
outsourced and to add insult to injury, we are expected to survive on what is practially tantamount to Third World wages? Not only that, but as a MT for the last 25+ years, I am livid about the fact that our medical information is in the hands of individuals outside of this country not to mention SS#, etc. IMO that particular issue among others I have listed should be a legitimate cause for concern....

Infinity makes the majority of the foot pedals, so to
ask if an Infinity pedal will work is too general of a question. Do you need game port, serial port, USB, 9 pin, 15 pin, etc. They can be configured different ways so just because it is an Infinity doesn't mean it will work.
I use an Infinity pedal but it is specially configured to be compatible with only DVI.
You have absolutely get your lines in the vast majority of the time - sm
In other words, you cannot have technical problems one day, decide to run errands the next, and then the 1 day out of 3 you decide to work there is very low work and you cannot get your lines in they will call and/or send an e-mail asking why. You need to be doing what you agreed to in your contract or you are going to get fired. I think that is true at most places now.
Exactly. The majority of the population can't afford health care.
Huh. Sound familiar?
The majority of places have you use templates and software platforms. Maybe someone can suggest a

They send a majority of the Escription accounts to India. There are a few of the hospitals that said
they could not send their work there but I suspect they do anything. In any event, yes, a lot of the easier work goes to India and they are proud of this affliation, not bad it doesn't pay my bills. Then, they wonder why we are so angry about India taking our jobs.
well she is a liar then. the majority speaks and the truth has been heard. sorry, actions speak

So......okay. Send her to Andrews, she may as well get a decent education for her money.
Why is everyone so negative?
Life is too short to complain. Just pray about it and it will all work out the way it is supposed to.
negative
is anyone ever positive on this board. you have to draw your own conclusions. you have to look out for number one, yourself.
Negative
Read the contract carefully - you are responsible for covering your agreed upon shift if for any reason you can't work it yourself.
They really just seem to be contracting out the work to other businesses, which is OK I guess, but not very practical for the individual IC.
They may have changed the contract, but when I questioned this and a couple of other items, that's when communication ground to a stop.
not just that she said something negative - sm
they have to prove the content has cost them. and we do have a right to voice our opinion no matter what. like it or not.
Not all positive but not all negative..
At least I stayed busy with them and not sittling idly waiting for work like now.
NEGATIVE POSTS...SM
And your post of being tired of complaining and negative posts isn't a complaint in itself?
I think you just have a negative attitude. Why
Actually, you sound like one of those people who complain about everything. I am really sorry for you. Wish you could be happy too!!
And on top of everything else you have no idea what you are talking about. You have been proven wrong on here at least 2 times.
So your experience was not negative?
I thought they sounded decent until I read these posts, and was disappointed. I don't want to go out of the frying pan and into the fire. The only thing holding me back is I'm not sure I want to commit to FT.
This is how negative things
spread that may not be true. I also work for Sten Tel. Can you please look at the information you have and list the name and address of the company that is listed on the paperwork.
negative posts
It's always good to know what you're getting into before it's too late. There are companies out there that are not even mentioned on this board and those are the ones to work for!
I have not heard anything negative at all. nm,

Why is it that any time an MT has a negative
comment to make about a company or one of its supervisors, it always has to be a disgruntled ex-employee?
Not always a negative thing..
I understand and respect your points made. However, as mid-size MTSO, I no longer include my company name when advertising on some sites. I have placed ads and have hired excellent MTs. The first couple of times I advertised and included my business name, it was obvious that people looked up my website for all the contact information. Then my phone and fax started ringing for days, as well as clogging my email. Granted, many were from MTs, but there was a HUGE amount of unwanted solicitation from countless offshore companies, wanna-be-tell-me-how MTs, insurance companies, coffee companies, to name a few. Larger transcription companies probably have the staff to devote time to this, but I do not. I certainly did not mean to offend you or your abilities in any way.
Negative maybe--but true.
While I worked for the company I was paid about every 4 weeks with it stretching to 6 weeks at one point. Often I had to ask when checks would be sent out. I was never paid weekly---not once.
I agree with parts of your post. There were some very good accounts.
As for my negative comments--they are true based on my experience with the company. Good to hear your experience has been better.
