Thanks! I remembered the memo; guess I had hoped the new accounts would be starting by now. I truly love MDI and think it is the best place in the world to work. It would be unthinkable to me to change companies, but with each passing day when I only get 50% of my lines, I am concerned because I am the breadwinner. I really hope you are right and that it evens out soon. Thanks again.

To MDI4me:
Thank you for your response. I read your earlier posting as well. You seem very happy at MDI-MD. It seems there have been a lot of messages posted in the past month about people who were training and there wasn't even enough work for them to get their five training reports a day (which is what a trainee is limited to for two weeks as I understand it). Did you have any problems with this? Also, in terms of them running out of work, do you experience this being on one account? I'm used to very high production and while so many people have said good things about MDI I'm nervous about making the switch because of this. How is your line count? I cannot tell if you're an experienced transcriptionist; I have 15 years, only as an employee, never an IC or SE. Have you ever gotten paid OT or gotten a raise since you're there (another area where there are conflicting reports). Thanks for all the time you're taking to answer these questions. Just wondered if you are working now. I hope this is not interfering with your working. Thanks again.

You sound like my kind of person. You have kindness and ethics. I, too, am a refugee from the Q. MDI is the best company I have ever worked for. My liaison is awesome. Unfortunately, I have a mortgage for which I am responsible, as well as a family to feed, so I do no have too much flexibility in going under on my line count at this point. I intend to stay with MDI. I do think that the low work will straighten itself out. (I also think I am particularly antsy these days because every five minutes Governor Arnold is on t.v. saying how California is going bankrupt. In fact, a friend of mine who is an MT has already lost her house and gone bankrupt because of the California real estate situation. She is not with MDI, not that it matters. It is happening to people everywhere.) I just think the west, particularly California, has been really hard-hit and everybody is kind of nervous. I just need to calm down. I have been in other situations with other companies where the work went low and it always came back up again. I do trust MDI and think they are the most honest shop out there.
Roger that MDI4me!
