MDI LD

What the MDI staff have been recommending to get is MCI The Neighborhood. However, when you sign up they state a third party will be calling you within 2 weeks to confirm that you really want to change telephone providers, and if they are unable to reach you they will not process your service. I never heard from anyone! I had already signed up for Vonage but was having problems with getting disconnected from the dictation system.  I am still using the Vonage and have it figured out that I usually get disconnected after being on between 3 to 4 hours, so I just get off after 2 hours and take a break.  I have also heard of other people having problems with getting disconnected with Vonage, and for some people it does not work at all. It may depend on which account you are on, also.

At this point as my account is getting ready to move to Internet platform I am just hanging in there with Vonage, but you should have a backup plan if you try this. You can also use the Onesuite phone cards to fill in, which are cheaper than regular LD, but I have been disconnected with them, too, and you have to pay attention to how many minutes are left on the card.

Most of the accounts are supposed to be moving to the Internet platform eventually, so hopefully this is only going to be a temporary problem.
