Just because I work from home doesn't mean I abdicate all rights to benefits enjoyed by workers in other fields. This job requires a LOT of knowledge, research, speed, and commitment to schedule (patient records usually can't wait until next month). There are a lot of people who can't do this job. It seems like the attitude of the employers is We let you work from home and that's where our responsibility ends. Am I right? So, back to Ms. Orman, go in to a company with the idea that you are valuable and deserve to be treated as such.

Did you see Suze Orman talk to the pastry chef?
Woman had always wanted to be one, went to school, came out with debt and couldn't get a job to make more than $8.00 an hour to save her life. Was devastated.
Suze said the stats on such jobs are so poor - the chance of making a living enough to pay off the cost of education was practically none.
I was surprised but the woman was very upset. Said none of her colleagues were able to fare any better, either.
Be sure before you leap!
When was the last time Orman had to get a real job?
I'm not talking about yapping with Oprah or doing a pledge drive for PBS or selling cars for GM because everybody knows her from Oprah and PBS, but a real live honest-to-goodness have to do it every day job - say like medical transcription?
