Would you work for a company that docked for errors?

If you make an error in a report, you don't get paid for the whole report.

Would you work for this company?

Only if it also docked doctors for dictation errors
HA HA
I was offered a job months back, but the contract said they docked for errors.
Not my cup of tea! I never was docked pay for making a med error as a nurse. I would not have accepted that kind of treatment. I'm human, for crying in the corn, not a machine.
They used to penalize and doc your pay for repeated mistakes. Don't know about now. nm

If you like getting docked pay for lousy dictators, go for it. nm

You aren't docked for blanks unless maybe

How does Axolotl define a line?  Do they pay for spaces, headers, footers, & expansions?  Are you docked for blanks or sending things to QA?  If so, how much.

you keep leaving the same blank after receiving corrections.  They would rather you leave a blank than to guess.  Line is 65 characters, pay for spacers.  There are acute care and clinic accounts and I don't know if they pay differently for them as far as headers/footers.  I have no footers, only have to fill in date in headers so not sure how they pay.  I don't know why wouldn't get paid for expansions, I get paid for normals and I have some normals as expansions so I guess they do pay for them.

That is crazy!! I do QA too - how unfair to be docked points!
//
Paid direct by Transcend, never been docked.
Only time I had to complain was the one (and ONLY one) time they neglected to add on my carried-over TRS production incentive bonus. I pointed it out to my supervisor, she told me to contact payroll, and it was corrected (and the difference made up) on my next check.

Not actually a check; I have direct deposit, and it's always been right on time, on the day advertised. (They gave us a payday schedule, and it's always been spot-on.)

Again, I've never been docked for anything, and never even been told what things a person might be docked for. Too many things sent to QA? Hardly. We (at least, we TRS transplants) are supposed to NEVER guess, and if we put 100 QA marks in a report, so be it.

Of course, I suppose if we were making constant critical errors, we might need to be talked to... but that hasn't happened to me, so I can't speak to what might happen in that case.
Old posts also say your pay is docked if client is unhappy with your work. No thanks. nm

Ditto to what needavacationmt said. They talk but dont deliver. Do you truly want your check docked
based on what Indian QA says is proper sentence structure, use of English language, punctuation etc..I have no issues with expecting high quality but I think I had a difference in opinion on these factors. There is a language barrier as your supervisors IM you from India and just dont get things like NO.. I am not working right now and do not plan on it until my scheduled shift. I know another person said the recruiter actually told her that their middle of the road Transcriptionist make about $4000 a month average. What kind of scam and lie is that. Just goes to show they will tell you anything to get you to work for them. You'd be sorry.
I have been with MDI-MD since the end of 2005 - and I
totally agree with the comments by anon. I enjoy working for them. Fantastic, caring people to work for. Communication is excellent and far above what I have experienced in the past. Replies are practically instantaneous via email with any questions, problems, etc., you might have to the liaison of your account - same with telephone help via technical support. Have normal slow-downs in work over the Holidays, but I'm kept extremely busy on a daily basis on the account that I'm on - usually doing more than my commitment, though not required to do so. Should there ever be a lack of work on my account and I wanted an additional account, all I would need to do is ask. Please note -- I am on ONE ACCOUNT -- not 5, 10, or more !! Since being hired, I can honestly say that I now love being a medical Transcriptionist again - something I had lost during my prior 12 years with another company :o)
MDI-FL Any 2005 MDI-FL MTs still around who can

Transcend took over MDI-FL in January of 2005.  Is there anyone who transferred to Transcend from MDI-FL in 2005 that is still working for Transcend or can remember back then, and could shed some light on how the transition went and answer some of the questions like:

1.  Did your cpl change?  Higher?  Lower?

2.  Did you have to go to a set schedule?

3.  Did you get to stay on the same accounts that you had at MDI-FL?

Any other information you could share would sure be great.

Thank you.

They last had an ad here in 2005 for 8 cpl. No other info. nm

Sorry. It has to be me. I did exactly what you said and all it has is 2004 and 2005.
Thanks anyway.  Maybe someone will still enlighten me, but obviously it is not looking too positive so I probably won't waste my time with them.
Don't know, but the posts from 2005 about them are quite negative. nm

I cannot answer for February of 2005.

I was not employed there then.  I have been there a little over 2 years.  I can say when I started at Axolotl there were maybe 10 to 15 acute care MTs.  We have more than doubled in size since then.  I do know that if we had work outsourced to other companies, we would not have the amount of work to transcribe that is always here.

Axolotl is also an EMR provider and if you go to their website you can read all about that area of their business.

In my 15 years of being a trancriptionist, I have never found a better company to work for and this is why:

1.  They treat their MTs like they should be treated.

2.  They compensate MTs the way they should be compensated.

3.  The platform is great.

4.  We do not run out of work and they do not overhire.

5.  They offer great benefits.

6.  Great management and editors.

After reading so many horror stories on this site about some of the nightmares other MTs have gone through with other companies, plus the fact I have had a few myself, I am BLESSED to find such a great company.

You are still wrong, I'm sorry; that manual is from 2005 sm
All the managers sent out information saying it was at their discretion. Instead of posting here, why don't you just ask your manager if it is true?
2005 MW Social Security Statement

Thank you very much for alerting us to this.

I am ex-MW employee.  I too am going to report MW as my 2005 SS statement was not reported.  I hope they are FULLY investigated.

I am going to call SS in the morning.  Who should I notify in the Department of Labor?

I also did not have my state taxes taken out by MW, but I was required to pay my state taxes as if I were an IC in my state, even though I was an employee in this company.

I didn't work there way back in 2005, so
I can't comment on your personal experience, but for me in 2008:

1. If you run out of work, you are paid downtime. You can do backup acounts also. Not sure about the written consent but there are a lot of us who work on other accounts.

2. Sample reports: The program allows you to bring up previously typed reports by experienced MTs by doctor, patient, report type, etc., so the MT has endless samples.

3. Supervisor currently, from what I can tell anyhow, has a lot of contact with hosital including informing them of problem dictators and other issues that directly impact the MT's production, etc.

4. I think they changed the insurance to cover out-of-area employees, but don't quote me on that.

Personally I've had a very good experience with the FL account. Nothing is perfect, but I'm very satisfied.
Pay was low back in 2005 unless you worked the entire weekend. nm

I interviewed with them.

I didn't want to wait a whole year before beginning to accrue PTO so I went elsewhere.

I interviewed with them sm
my current account was lost to Axo so I decided to interview with them - 7 cents a 65-character line (I have been on these accounts for 12+ years now - HA!) and work is a pool - you are not assigned a specific specialty or doctor so speed will be an issue because you're pulling up different templates, etc. They provide the computer/software platform (that's all I need - another computer - already working on 2!!) and I *believe* paycheck deduction was taken for that. You are an employee, not an IC and have to work a set schedule.  You had to produce (I think) 1,500 lines a day (can't remember for sure - this was last year when I interviewed). When I asked what happens when I get that 1,500 lines done in, say, 6 hours, what do I do with the next 2 hours? The recruiter said I would keep typing, but they did not pay incentives for plus-production. I told the recruiter that definitely did not motivate me to work faster! I was also told they outsource and that's why the current MTSO lost the account (lower line rate). That being said, I was told in February 2004 (yep, year and a half ago) that the account would be switching over to Axo. I understand they have had multiple failed pilots. Keeping my fingers crossed that they continue to mess up my accounts so I can keep them!
I just interviewed with them and I am - sm sm
considering taking the job.
I interviewed with them
a year ago.  They gave me a multiple choice oral terminology test.  They were very nice.  the downfall - I spent 2 hours on the phone with them, told me I did very well and even asked if I was certified because I impressed them and then they told me they were not hiring at the moment.  I did just came across them from my own researching and sent in a resume and they called me.  I now know to ask if the company is hiring during the first part of the interview!
I just interviewed with them
It seems odd they would be hiring if they can't provide work for current employees.  I was interviewing for VR, maybe you should see if you can get on a VR account.
When I interviewed with them ....
They told me that they paid on a 55-character count line but not for spaces.  I did not accept the job offer though because I had been offered something that turned out to be really great.
Post from 2005 said you needed a Cphone and you HAD to buy Workman's Comp insurance to work
s
I tested/interviewed with them once, or tried to -

we scheduled a phone conference to discuss the opening they had no less than five times and kept having to reschedule it at the last minute - very irritating.

I interviewed with Axolotl. (sm)
In a nutshell, here is the deal: This is a company that you basically have to "chase down" in order to get a response. I have 17 years experience, and the only reason that I was able to get an interview is because I kept calling to follow up with the HR person. When I finally got an interview, she told me that she wanted to schedule a second interview with the manager of the transcription department. Well, 3 or 4 weeks later (I waited so long that I lost count), I finally heard from her. She apologized for taking so long to get back to me, and then she said, "I thought you would have found another position by now" (because it took her so long to get back to me). Anyway, for other reasons (and the fact that I felt I shouldn't have to kiss an employer's you-know-what to get an interview), I turned them down. So with this company, it has nothing to do with how qualified you are, it has to do with how patient you are, and whether you are willing to call and leave messages for someone to get back to you.
Well, both offshore. I have interviewed with both and been

offered positions with both, declined both.   I have nearly 20 years' experience in acute care, can do any work type, ESLs, etc.  I aced both tests.  Cymed offered me 8 cpl and 8.5 cpl over 18,000/lines pay period.

Precyse lied to me and I wouldn't work for them if they were the only company out there.  They pay based on if you are CMT or not, how many years experience, what shift, etc.  I was offered about  10 cpl, but the account they wanted to put me on was one I had worked on when I was with YOG and it was an extremely difficult account.   There are lots of posts about how Precyse ignores e-mails and that communication is very poor overall.   They use IM and during the 2 or 3 interviews they stopped several times to answer IMs from team leaders.

I don't need insurance so didn't ask questions in regards to that.

Yes they do. I asked them when I was interviewed and they
relunctantly told me they did only if the client asks  to.  Now I'm sure they are going to the client and saying we'll offshore you're work if you want us to - NOT.
When I was interviewed by Heartland,
I was told that they were planning to stop offshoring and bring all the jobs back to the US.
I just recently interviewed with them.
This was for acute care: Base pay was 8 cpl, 65 character line with spaces, goes up to 8.75 for 1600+ lines a day. There's a $1000 sign on bonus, paid at $100 per paycheck. You have to be there a year before you get any vacation time, which is 2 weeks. No holiday pay.
And they seemed so personable when I interviewed about
s
I just interviewed and was told
after 3 months if you have hit the 11,000 lines they require per pay period as full time you get $500 and then you get the other $500 after 6 months of doing the same.
