I started pounding the old manual, then to the electric and the internet. I learned at an early age and taught my children that you work hard, contribute and it will come back to you.
As far as ICs concerned about when they get paid, that comes with being an IC. I used to do work for a large teaching hospital until my account was eaten up by a biggie. Even though I had a 30-day net, sometimes it was 90 days before payment. I understood I just had to have savings to cover the wait.
The whining does really bring me down. Everyone tells me how fortunate I am to be able to do this for a living and I completely agree. I don't have to go out and commute in the rain and heat. It is a blessing.
Thank you for that post. It very eloquently mirrored my own feelings.
