I think everybody understands what
happened and why. Obviously you didn't know it was possible to check or you would have done it. There is just no need for people to be so mean about things. She could have informed you nicely, for future reference, that you could check your messages even if you didn't have any minutes. You're beating yourself up enough, she doesn't need to add to it.
yes, a woman is perceived (esp. by men) how she presents herself...nm
nm
OMG. Everybody else here understands my point.
The subject at hand was days off for holidays, not the existenstial meaning of individual beliefs. When considering employment and talking about benefits, I don't care what religious or political views the potential employer has, I care what days I will be granted off and if I will be paid for them as it pertains to employee benefits.
The subject at hand was employer-recognized holidays, not personal religious beliefs.
My boss could call August 1st a holiday if he wants, but if nothing changes in regards to my employment and/or benefits, what's the point?
Happy Festivus!!!
Nobody understands what you are hallucinating...nm

Let's trade Xmas presents, want a cookbook? nm
Someone understands my Nurse Diesel reference! Yay! LOL nm

Let me rephrase that! -sm
The name of the company is Voice Transcription. They are located in Washington state.
Got cut off-, but maybe you should rephrase that. nm
nm
Let me rephrase that
Is there anything positive about the company? I just saw all the messages related to them and it doesn't look good.
After 8 years in the business, I start buying presents in August, cause I know the slow period SM
is coming around the holidays. :-)
Not to say we dont all starve and Im not totally stressed out come December, but at least Ive got my gifts :-)
Ok, let me rephrase that: We are on OT *and* have a ton of work on my acct. nm
x
let me rephrase...... sorry if I sounded rude
but it kind of felt like you were implying it is my own fault to not have work right now -- The actual POINT of my original post was that if they want to force us to pick a shift then we should get work during that time and NOT have to work late or all night to get it........
OOOH I should rephrase that "crap" sm
statement. When I said that I was meaning what lots of MTs think about them. you know the MTs who complain about the OPs and ESLs, etc. I don't think either are crap and like you would rather do OP notes all day long and have told the company that. I would also think I had died and gone to heaven. Lots of things you can put in your key Expanders for OP reports huh?
Should have made that clear! Sorry!
It is not "THE WORST"!
Please, give it a try. I love it and I work out of the Dallas office. I have a couple of friends that have worked out of other offices and were not exactly thrilled, but I think the Dallas office is the best.
hello -- I said I was referring to 2 different situations
x
Both of your situations sound like I would like them.
The one with the higher cpl and also the one with the ability to come and go as I please. I wish I could read your minds and find out if your boss would hire me :)
Law about pay for no work situations sm
Supposedly this doesn't apply to MTs because we don't get paid hourly, we're considered piecework and that law supposedly only applies to hourly people.
Just because "the client wants it", does NOT
And going along with what a morally bankrupt client wants doesn't make it 'right', either.
I used to have a business of my own once. Service-related, but not MT. Sometimes clients asked for things that were just WRONG. As small as my business was, I still had the backbone to say 'NO'. It's sad that these big MTSOs, with oh, so much money backing them up, don't have the same backbone.
They seem to have forgotten:
'TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT'.
My experience with these situations
is that the buyer does not necessarily want the talent (they figure they can get that on the cheap overseas). What they want is the accounts. They will murmur sweet nothings, tell the acquisition company whatever it needs to hear to get in bed with them. Next morning, where's the respect? Where's the love? We thought they really liked us! Nope, it was just a booty call.
Suckah!
Yes, let's hear it for win-win situations and turn this around.

What about these surprise situations with Transtech? --
Hard to compare to a normal job, as you are trying to do. When there is no work at TT, they send out emails not to contact the office. Of course, there is no pay, yet we reported to work on time ! These are always surprise situations to TT's at-home employees. Good companies do not treat their employees like this. You report to work and you are not sent home without pay.
TT is not the only company that treats their MT's like this -- but be sure to compare apples to apples !!!
Don't compare us with away-from-home jobs. Ex-MQ'er, your time is coming for being out of work. You are new right now with TT and have nothing to compare to yet.
Quit TransTech for same, actually both situations...nm

Someone asked me about "the email" sm
It was just your basic recruiting email, probably got my address from an AHDI/AAMT membership list. Come work for us, we have competitive wages - I deleted it right away b/c I'm happy (obviously!) at Webmedx!
Yes, no work situations which have been occurring lately have given us the chance
to TAKE DAYS OFF WITHOUT PAY ! Surprise times, they are, too. Not anything MT's can plan for !
totally different situations between work types. nm

Hmm, so "the States" have caused issues?
Wikipedia is not a real good resource and can be self-written (see their own disclaimers). I'm seeing closer to 12% Muslim India and I feel sorry for India that is happening, especially after the horrid Glasgow incident in Scotland.
I'm glad the tech team in India gave help, but I've found the tech team here in the good ol' U.S., where the source of work comes from to fund us all to begin with, quite adequate. I feel no need for others to come in, take over and tell us how to run our medical system or record the treatment of our fellow countrymen.
Sassenachs = outsiders or outlanders.
I've had good relations with Hindu people HERE in the U.S., U.S. citizens who chose to live within my country and its standard of living. Spiritual and sweet-tempered U.S. citizens.
Yet medicine and treatment of our people are none of other countries' affairs or business and it's ironic we're turning our own production over to other nations to employ our own people. Ironic and disgusting in a most base way. Trying to run it from afar invites revolution for change. Count on it.
Great post! I have gone through similar situations
But never give up... there is always hope at the end of the storm... just make it through the storm.
She sounds like Elizabeth on "The View" !
Lack of work etc is always blamed on "the time of

"The Suits" is the proper term for these people.
There are Suits in every industry. They are the MBAs and they consider business a giant chess board. So much fun to move all the little pieces around and see what happens. Don't be afraid to sacrifice your pawns.
Looks like the original post got pulled, too. Too many of us looking for "the" place to work,

No advice, but humor.. my girlfiend calls that "the speed of loneliness"

"The most miserable group of people in the world"? Great attitude for a Lead.
Hope you're not one for long.
The email said the owner as she is the owner of the email software package. sm
We got the list from AHDI. If someone does not wish to be on our email list, there is a link to click on at the bottom of those for opting out. We immediately remove those that click the link.
We also have a few mailling going out. Same thing - if you opt out of the email program, we will remove you from all contact.
We need transcriptionists for many new accounts and have ads on here and other sites, as well as several magazines. We are going to need over 100 MTs in the next 3 months due to new accounts and more work on existing accounts!
Hmm, wonder what the owner will say
no flame, but I would not tolerate that kind of off loading in a public forum from someone on my management team. Please remember I was responding to horn tooting that was short on information and left an impression that huh, I could do better elsewhere in addition to feeling insulted at the lack of decent benefits. There was no mention of UC contribution, STD or LTD, employer paying part of the health insurance premiums.
I said what I said mostly to make the point. If you want to sell me, do a good job the first time or you sink yourself and I won't look at you twice. There was little in the original post to sway me in your favor and the Jeckle/Hyde posting afterwards warns me of good day/bad day tangents.
As I said, best of luck to your company.
Are you the owner of
Why not just post the email address of the 'administrator'. Are you just trying to draw traffic to your forums and away from the forums here.
Seems to me, if you are really seeking MTs you'd just post like the other companies do on the Job board.
it USED to mean owner (sm)
back when most MT services were little and there was a real owner. Now that there are so many huge multinationals with no owner to take personal responsibility for the service, it's sort of transmogrified to mean organization, but that's redundant.
Just take it as meaning a service. Once again, AAMT, worthless as ever, ruins the language.
no changes that i know of. Same owner.
x
and this is the new owner
My god you people are so gullable. That picture could have come from anyones kitchen!!!
How do you know? Are you the owner?
They are obviously losing something if there's no work. Have you been with them since they started or something? Do you know of every account MDI has or what? How can you make a blanket statement like that?
I can't believe people sit frustrated about no work and don't move on; that's just plain silly. There are tons of companies hiring; get on with it already! Come on show your stuff to a company that will appreciate you and not OVERHIRE!
Owner? sm
I thought someone named Tracy owned Net-Med?
Should be owner's...sorry. nm

A few posts on here say the owner is a mean one. nm
,
Owner is snarky.

As the owner of Omniscribe.... sm
I would like to come here and say that I have no idea who this individual is. She/he has never worked for me and my paychecks have NEVER been late. A company who does not pay their MTs would go under in no time flat and I am still going. Omniscribe is a very small company and I can count on one hand the number of MTs who have left here. Not one of them would come to a public forum to bash me or my company, so I'd be very curious to know who you are. I'm certain you have me and my company confused with some other place.
Oh, okay. I thought it was okay because the owner
people are saying DEROGATORY things about her. I was saying GOOD things and mine was deleted.
Is this really the owner of a company
Wow! You are soooooooooo ghetto and ignorant. I am speechless!
As a business owner
I have had people give notice and then NOT work their full shifts because they were leaving. Contracts can stipulate that you can be deducted pay for not fulfilling your contract.
Anyway, there are other methods to collect funds owed, if they are due.
I just do not feel that public character assassination is an appropriate manner to do so.
Walk a mile in my shoes!
You said you spoke to the owner.
You are not credible.
owner, not organization.
Remember the Owner
I remember reading another board a few years back....maybe quite a few years...and I remember distinctly J. Weight's name. I know she was one of the most argumentative and flaming people out there. Stay away.
