I don't believe the lay-offs have anything
to do with foreign cars, or at least little to do except that they are of superior quality overall and more might be buying them, but the main issue is gas prices and a declining economy. People are now taking public transportation, carpooling, riding bikes or motorcycles, or keep fixing their old klunker. In my area there are huge layoffs every week. People have lost their houses, have given away their pets because they are unable to feed them, people who have been self-sufficient are now in shelters. No one has $$ to buy a car. We're in the market for a car, but we are going to buy used because of the overinflated prices on a new car and the depreciation.
Lay Offs
I would really hesitate before taking a job with SPi. I worked as an Editor for a year and a half and one day I was told to join and a conference call and they let me go effective immediately. No advance warning, nothing. I was told it was due to their having lost several large accounts. Be very wary.
Lay-offs anyone?
Anyone been laid off from Breitner? Just wonderng what their story was to you.
Amphion lay-offs
I haven't heard of any more lay-offs, but the CEO/owner did step down for whatever that's worth.
I am curious if there have been more lay-offs at Amphion, more than the 25 or so? I am wishing
you all the best of luck in finding new jobs. We really are living in some scary times!
