LD problems

I feel like a broken record because I post on this a lot, but I wish I had been more aware when I first got into unlimited long distance, so trying to help others be aware, too.
Basically, look closely at the Terms and Conditions of the ULD plans. Some will say you can't use it for MT. All ULD plans (at least that I've ever seen, and I've looked around a lot) except VoIP plans will have a 5000ish minute cap and then they will start investigating why you are using so much LD. I was dropped from mine before because of this. Supposedly they can classify MT in one of their restrictions (even if it doesn't specifically say MT), and this goes for the small business plans, too. Some companies will drop you, some will back charge you for all the minutes you used for MT under the plan. Then again, some people use these traditional ULD plans like Verizon or SBC or whatever and never seem to have a problem. I don't know if that is because they aren't going over the 5000 minute cap or are just lucky. Believe me, I'm not the only one who has run into trouble with this. VoIP plans don't have the minute cap, but who knows - they could still say you are using it improperly if they wanted to. I haven't had it that long but have been okay so far. There are other VoIPs besides Vonage. Most major long distance carriers have their own now.
Search the archives under unlimited long distance or long distance and hopefully you will be able to make an informed decision.
