Kudos to you! sm

My children lost their dad 7 months ago. They're 3 and 12, and I feel like I'm running on empty constantly. I do manage to get my work done, but it's a juggling act. I find myself starting early (usually around 4:30 or 5) in the morning and finishing up in the evening. My company is great about giving me the flexibility I need right now, and I am sooo grateful for that. It makes it easier to put in what extra time I can knowing they're working with me. Keep your chin up, I know what you're going through.

Kudos to you for saying that.

...but I KNOW that being on this board is shooting myself in the foot BIG TIME.  My morale is down the tubes lately because I DO work for the squid, and I have felt doomed, but you're absolutely right, even when I'm wearing slippers I must envision bootstraps on them to pull myself up, and it's good to know that if I do that, and summon the work ethic that I have in me somewhere, I know (because I've done other, harder things in my life, believe me) I too can make a living wage.  Besides, I've gotten a new job and will be making the change within the next 2 weeks.   Time for the proverbial new leaf.   Thanks, Lil Ole You.

Well kudos to you, but I don't think
deserved your sarcasm. She is merely nervous about not meeting her lines and rightly so in a new position. She came here looking for a little encouragement. If your MT is as great as you say, and I am sure she is, she just might replace you in your company someday. I would be nervous about that.
Well KUDOS to you!!!
Such a valued employee.
Kudos to you!! s/m
Sounds like you're one of the smart ones.  My husband had about the same situation as your husband.  Wham!  One Labor Day, of all times, he got a recorded message saying not to report to work the next day because the company had filed bankruptcy and he was immediately unemployed and without insurance as of that day.  At that point we were thankful that we had lived way below our means for many years.
Kudos to ex-Transcenders...

For standing up to these lousy companies who think they can s*** on us and feed us a line of crap, thinking we're too stupid not to buy into it! I am so disgusted and angry about what I've been reading - if Medquist pulled this on us I'd be outta there in a New York second. You guys are too good and there are too many other companies out there to put up with this kind of bull. Remember, we are in the driver's seat, we can be picky - demand far exceeds supply for professional MT's and you guys are sticking it to Transcend as should all new and old MT's. I also believe MTStars should ban any further job postings from Transcend - it is a total insult to us to allow them to continue to post, IMHO.

Thank you for standing up for yourselves and, indirectly, for all us MT's!

Kudos for TransHealth

I just want to say that these last 2 months with TH have been very difficult.  I have struggled every day with the work type, but am learning more each day and it gets easier everyday.

Well, I have not exactly been an exemplary employee.   I'm not up to my line counts yet, had to leave work once to bring son to ER, and today had internet problems so wasn't able to work (and I called later than I should have to let my boss know).

I DESERVED to be fired today.  I'm in my probational period and figured I was outta there!  I certainly wouldn't have blamed them if they gave up on me today...I might have fired them if the situation were reversed, but they were absolutely wonderful.  They calmed me down and assured me that it was okay and that I'm not going to be fired...that they understood.  They said once my internet was back up then I could go back to work....no problem.

Wow!  They have totally earned my respect, admiration, and loyalty.  As you can see, my internet problem is resolved, so I'll be burning the midnight oil to get some lines in today....so I better end this post for now, but I wanted to share this great experience that I had with TH because all too often all we seem to hear is the negative about all of these companies.

Have a great night everyone!

Kudos for Transhealth
Well I guess you have to feel like giving kudos if just occasionally one of these co.'s are civil since overall one rarely sees basic decency from any of these people.
Kudos to you, Jes! However, you are doing something that does offend some s/m
You work hard for your money! You go girl! It's a dang shame that as professional women and mothers this forum has become overpopulated by bitter, burned-out, hateful, and I mean ugly to the bone venomous MTs who never have a kind word to say. IMHO, some of y'all need to get off your arses and get out of the house to socialize or find employment where you can relearn how to interact nicely with others. It's easy to hide behind a made up name and spout snide remarks off into cyberspace, because you know you'd be fired or have your arse kicked if you actually had the nads to talk to people face to face like you do here.

Seriously, if being confined to the house, alone all day has reduced you to this, a counselor may be your answer.
Kudos to Keystrokes
I do not work for them but I think it says something positive about Keystrokes in that they will drop a dog account instead of trying to make money off the backs of their transcriptionists like so many other services.
Well, BRAVO and KUDOS!!!
Well-put.

In fact, SO well put I can't even add anything to it.

I'll just say DITTO. :-)
Kudos to you Admin!! Ty whoever had the proof too!

xx

KUDOS TT23,,,like you I understood what TT was doing
they explained rather clearly. It is a shame that this situation (which was only meant to help TT MTs) got so blown out of proportion. These are just rumors, bad rumors,, it amazes me how someone could totally miscontrue a very clear email!
Excellent summary! Kudos!
I couldn't have said it better. I am cautiously thinking our stock might go up down the road because the brick and mortar schools are slowly dropping MT training from their curriculum. No more ads on TV about going into MT. So those of that are left and haven't run for the hills may be at a premium soon. I've seen it before back in the 70s when we were paid too low and we all just walked off the job. Maybe they will get a clue before we do that again.
Kudos for trying, QA, but you can't reason with these people
I'm with a few other posters, good riddance to them. They mock all reason and logic, and instead stick firmly to their narrow-minded beliefs.

I've given up. Let 'em go. TT is undoubtedly better off without the lot of them.
That was an excellent question! Kudos to you! sm

I currently work with MDI, absolutely LOVE the company.  But I will probably quit now.  I used to work for Spheris (back when it was Edix), and when they started sending work overseas, I quit.  I just think it's so un American.  I think it's definitely to save money.  I hear they can pay those people a lot less than us.

I'm really disappointed.

Well, kudos to you!! Great rates! Congrats!! nm
..
Correct spelling is kudos. You're welcome.

I have been at Keystrokes a while and have to give kudos to what I think is the best company out the
not always great in the beginning and I left and came back a few years ago. I am so glad that I did. The changes have been wonderful. I think it is refreshing to see a company actually improve over time with growth instead of going downhill.

I agree with you!
