Keystrokes is not for sale at this time, and there are no plans for selling in the foreseeable futu

Posted By: KS Management Team on 2009-02-13

This is a rumor started by someone for absolutely no reason. There are a few companies out there who have approached Keystrokes about selling and have been turned down. A few have been very agressive and do not like to hear the word no.

The company has been growing steadily for the past 10 years and has agressive growth plans in place for the next 5 years.

If you have any questions, contact one of the owners or member of the management team directly. They will answer your questions.

This is just another example of someone trying to stir the pot.

Not every company is for sale, at any price. Although that may change in the future for the owners of Keystrokes, right now they enjoy growing the company and improving on what they have built. It will be several years before the idea of selling would be entertained.

It's a rumor. They have growth plans, not selling plans. nm
I think they want to be bigger than Spheris, not bought by Spheris, and if they continue to grow in the next few years as in the last few years, I think they can.
Keystrokes is for sale? sm

I was just heard from my boss that Keystrokes is for sale for $30 million.  He was looking at them but thinks that Spheris will be the ones who will actually buy them.

I know that they are in the U.S.A. only.  What will happen once Spheris buys them?  Why Spheris and not MQ?

The owners at Keystrokes have other plans. They want to be sm
as big as Spheris or Transcend but still stay the way they are. I talked to the owner last week and to another manager about something unrelated and the subject turned to MDI-MD. The owner said that at this rate, they'll grow just from the MT's and customers who don't want to be part of the offshore trend. They won't go overseas and have no plans to sell for at least several years. They just bought a platform, are adding offices to the office building and plan on staying. She did say that she thinks that a lot of the smaller companies won't survive the changes in healthcare so they need to grow to stay in business.

Talk to her. You'll be surprised how easy she is to reach and talk to. I was. I was nervous when I called to talk to my manager and the owner answered the phone. She ended up helping me and chatting for a while. I was impressed, which is a first for me.
I received an email from someone about Keystrokes being for sale - it is lie. sm

Yes, the owners met with the CEO of Transcend and went to dinner but it was 2 years and it was NETWORKING.  They had no intentions of selling to them and when they informed them of that, Transcend stopped coming around.  I work in the office.  Get your facts straight.

That's good news. I love Keystrokes, and I hate to think of them selling. sm
The people are great, and I truly feel that I have finally found a home.  Still, business is business.  I have a friend who has been with Transcend for years and is very happy there, but I want no part of it.  I plan on working until I'm 70, so I'm crossing my fingers that the bottom does fall out for me before then.
Give TT some time to see if they can find cheaper plans

I also am greatly upset by the insurance hike, but I have decided to give them some time to see if they can come up with something more affordable.  Like many of you, I have to insure my whole family, so this increase is astronomical.

The grass is not always greener.  Changing jobs means switching out problems, and yes, some problems are easier to deal with than others.  My last job (Amphion), I was so stressed out, I lost a lot of quality of life.  I have young children.  I can't afford to be a stressed out freak just like I can't afford the expensive health insurance.  When I moved to TT, I regained my quality of life.  I'm not so tired anymore, and I'm able to be a better mom.  That means the world to me.  I'll hang in patiently to see if another option can be found for the health insurance.

I wonder how other companies' plans compare at this point in time? sm
Not sure how long you've been with Wbx but this plan seems comparable to what we had previously; however, I know we are all paying more out of pocket - probably for every single plan at every company -in the last 1-2 years.

Dental - I still think it is a good plan but then I haven't needed a root canal.
P&G forced my sister to stop selling Mary Kay in her spare time...gotta SM!
This was years ago way before P&G even owned Revlon. It's not like my sister wore a white coat and created cosmetic formulas. She was a RECEPTIONIST!!! The Suits at P&G told her to make a choice because they didn't need an employee working for the competition...Give me a break!

BTW, the ONLY reason my sister even sold the MK was so she could get it 1/2 price.

Whatever you do on YOUR time is YOUR business!! (As long as no laws are being broken or ppl getting hurt)IMO
I've only been there a year. I like it. Was with YOG, eaten by MQ for 10 years and then with Futu
As others have said, no company is perfect, but Webmedx has a nice incentive plan, and you can make decent money and acquire decent benefits. I have received positive feedback from my supervisors there--a rarity in this industry. My only concern with them is, like all MTSOs, they seem to overhire at times. I have 3 accounts--and would be happy to take more--but I have run out of work a couple of times this year that were not the typical times were all expect. Good luck to you.
Ahh, yess.... "for the foreseeable future"!
That's what we were told when my company 'merged'.
'Foreseeable future' usually adds up to about 6 months, give or take a few. Mgmt. and tech support now in ---- (you guessed it!) --- INDIA. Software changes up our wazoos, too. Each one worse than the last. And yes, you are correct: 'exciting new technology' is VR.
The foreseeable future is viewed through 20/200 vision.
which means it's not going to be too far down the road.
I remember hearing the words "for the foreseeable future"... sm
when the company I worked for was bought by Transcend.  I also remember hearing how nothing would change.  Until they can figure out how to integrate the accounts to their platforms there is not much change.  Then they get them onto their platform.  If you are into quality more than quantity you will lose your benefits.  This is my opinion and what happened to me.  I suppose if you are a quick typist and don't double check things you might do better.  If you do a search on this board and type in BeyondTXT you will see more opinions on that platform.
about Keystrokes. Do they have a lot of radiology? Do they pay on time? SM

Do they offer direct deposit?  How often are you paid?  How about benefits?  Anyone who can shed some light on this?  Oh, is there plenty of radiology work and how flexible are they?

Keystrokes - when they say full-time- sm
Can someone tell me what their full-time entails?  They say they are flexible with hours but you must hit 1200 lines?  Does that mean you must work 8 hours or are you done when you hit the 1200 lines?  Do you have to let them know what hours you will be working?
Does Keystrokes hire part-time? nm
nm
I'm new to Keystrokes and the pay has been early or on time. Can't complain about that! nm
s
Keystrokes - do they hire part time?SM
If they do, how many lines and do they have acute care or clinic and do you have to work weekends?  Thank you.
Keystrokes question RE: vacation time.

Is vacation time offered only to FT employees.... or do they offer it to PT employees as well?

Thank you.

You'll see this poster every time something is said or asked about Keystrokes. sm
He/she has a bitter attitude about them but never provides specifics. I think everyone just ignores this person. I know I did, and I am glad as I love my job at Keystrokes. It did take a few weeks to get started but they were waiting on my ID from the hospital. It was worth the wait. I have been there 4 months now.
Keystrokes - How do they notify you if you qualified for vacation time? Thanks! nm
nm
I agree with Denise...I have also only been at Keystrokes for a shor time but I love it...it already

beats the company I was with before, and I was with them for a year-and-a-half...I can see if someone wanted an opinion about a company and you had a bad experience to share, but not just to get on here and say how horrible a company is...move on and good luck....

I just started with Keystrokes full time and am on a Meditech account. sm

I would not call it my favorite platform by any means -- I think it is rather slow and cumbersome -- but with the addition of ShortHand and getting used to how things are done, I am picking up speed and hope to be at my normal level soon.   One of the pluses to Meditech is that you can access the patient's chart and see other reports dictated, plus lab reports, x-rays, etc.

selling biz
pls email me more details about your service and clients (type of transcription), etc.
Selling MQ??
Sold to who? I don't know what you're referring to. Thanks in advance for clarifying.
Not sure who they are selling to but...sm
another national has offered us jobs with them and I don't think they are the right fit for me.
Is Keystrokes a big company or small? I am thinking of applying. Time to leave the Q. nm
The sad thing is that I do not even think they would notice if I left. I am a high producer but not very vocal and they seem to have forgotten about me :(
Sale?
What sale?
i mean FOR sale
-

why do you think it's for sale, and what are you asking them,
nm
Hmm, WM has a lap top on sale right now
for only 400 bux. I just wonder if you can use a different keyboard and how cumbersome (or not) it would be to do that. I don't think I'd be able to type fast on a lap top keyboard
medquist selling

Has anyone out there heard anything about medquist selling the company??

Thanks for any info.

Selling business sm

Can you email me your contact info?

Thanks.

Rumor is they are up for sale

but I have not heard anything more about that.

If MQ were for sale it wouldn't ....sm
necessarily be a negative thing for the MQ employees regardless of who a new owner might be (same goes true for any company being sold regardless of the industry).
MTSO's for sale
Does anyone know of any MTSO's for sale?
companies for sale
What in the world are you talking about.  I am not from MQ.  I opporate a small company out of Michigan.
sell not sale
just before someone jumps on that one
they have different plans
.
I wonder what she plans on doing next?

Is MB still there?

They have several different plans to
choose from. I have one of the Aetna ones. My only surprise is that it didn't cover all my labs and I got a bill for about $50 for labs. I called to ask, and they said it appeared there was a deductible. I didn't see that in any of the pamphets. It could be just the plan I chose. Other than that it's been fine.
They have several plans.
I think they are quite affordable. There is quite a lot of reading to do though with all the different plans. Ideally you have a friend who knows about benefit stuff and can help you. My head was spinning, and usually I find it quite easy to wade through that stuff).

(I don't have to cover dependents either, so nobody ask me about that please).
Don't know about OSI but TT has about 9 or 10 plans
nm
Difference in selling and just closing down
I can understand if there were legal issues regarding the sale of a company, but rumor has it that QT is just calling it quits, I would not think there would be any legal reason not to tell anyone, maybe they are just trying to prevent the MTs from leaving before the account has terminated. Still from what I read, most of the MTs would not go until the account was gone and the doors were shut, so I think it would more professional if QT told their transcriptionists what was going on.
No mention of selling, just that they won't have work for for me
xxxxxx
Never heard of them. Who are they selling to? Is MQ starting that again? nm
nm
Watch out selling them short...
you just might find another job which you think is better, and guess what, you've made a mistake and want to go back. By then you are stressed out and sorry for second-guessing. Take advice from someone who has been there and done that. Good luck whatever you decide to do, only hoping you save yourself grief. :)
No. We use DocuScribe and have no intentions of selling to MQ. sm
They have a separate department for technology, used to be Lanier, and they keep it separate. It is the same as using WebChartMD or EmDat. We pay what we use.
So, then, you're selling your knowledge
More output for the same pay means nothing more or less than that each line of knowledge (because that's what it is) is going for a lower price.

The value of VR to the client should not be price, but time. When price is the value proposition for VR, knowledge is being offered at a discount. It is positively idiotic for MTSOs to sell VR using price as the value proposition. The appropriate value proposition is TIME because VR should permit shorter turnarounds.

The question is, do MTSO's actually charge less for lines produced by VR? I'm not sure. If they do, they're giving away the store (and forcing the knowledge workers to discount their input).
And with so many smaller MTSOs selling out
to larger MTSOs with no warning, it certainly justifies our being suspicious and expecting the worse possible outcome.

I don't know about D...her silence during this entire month-long famine has made me second-guess my opinion of many of those at MDI-MD whom I previously thought very highly of. While selling MDI-MD wouldn't make her dishonest per se, at this point it feels like she is selling out her dedicated MTs.

I was completely exasperated with her email this morning which made no mention of any of our concerns and instead acted like it was regular Happy MDI Wednesday.

The lack of acknowledgement that there is a problem on more than one account just flabbergasts me.

look on the equipment board here also--always some for sale there--nm

aren't they for sale? (cut my messg off)
