I'm thinking about applying at Keystrokes for a radiology position.
Could anyone tell me if they pay per report, how much they start you with and if there are increases along the way. Have seen past post with different amounts and have seen a post in the archives stating 1.25 per report and 1.25 more for reports over 2 minutes long.
Is Keystrokes a big company or small? I am thinking of applying. Time to leave the Q. nm
The sad thing is that I do not even think they would notice if I left. I am a high producer but not very vocal and they seem to have forgotten about me :(
Keystrokes does. I am on an ortho account that is sm
busy, consistent and very well run.  I know that they are getting more of the centers with this group.  I have been there since February and plan on staying until I retire.
Keystrokes -ortho account

Does anyone have any info on Keystrokes ortho accounts?  Have you worked on them or tested with them for an ortho position?  What is the testing like?  Thanks!

I am on an internet account for Keystrokes. It is ortho but my
friend is on a clinic account that is internet for them.
I work on an ortho account. Keystrokes is just wonderful! They will help you in every way possible
and seem to really care about each person.  They have been very good to me and I am very thankful to have a job with such a great company!
Keystrokes has great ortho accounts and a wonderful manager over the ortho work. sm
I have worked with them for 4 years and will never leave unless something drastically changes. I do not post here normally as it seems that there are so many negative people, but this is one I felt I could answer without being attacked.
I was thinking about applying

I work every sunday now, and I would really like my weekends free.  I also don't like the software too much, and I have to pay LD.

Thanks for all the info you gave me.

Can anyone tell me anything about TTS? I am thinking about applying

Thank you.  I appreciate your reply.

Do they pay more than 3 cpl for editing? I need to make some money and that's the best offer I've seen so far and it's pitiful from what I've read on the boards.
Was thinking about applying at Transcend.

I've heard a lot about VR and the VR platform.  Are all their accounts on this?

I was thinking about applying for this company
myself as an SE but I had been reading some bad things about it and got scared off. However, I have read some very good things about MQ too!
Was thinking about applying at Transtech.

nm
Wow. One of my friends was thinking of applying there. I'll have to caution her!
I had no idea they were so bad! They offered me a position a year ago, but I turned it down and ended up going with Keystrokes, and I'm glad that I did! They kick you off the system when there is low work? That's screwed up!
Anyone know what Medware's ins. for family coverage runs. Thinking of applying
Just looking for a company that offers decent insurance for family coverage.

Does Transcription, Technology, & Support send work to India? Thinking of applying if not.
Does anybody know.
Thinking about IC status

I've been thinking about finding a company that offers IC status. My current situation is this  - I'm currently an employee for a service and have asked to be moved to a part time schedule soon as I'm expecting another baby and have realized there just aren't enough hours in the day to work full time and take care of my family (this will be my third child, fourth if you count hubby :-) ). So far my supervisor has barely acknowledged my request. I have also read here that people who once worked for my current company had asked for a schedule change and were refused. This is not an option for me, I need to go part time and I need flexibility in the schedule (something I know my current company does not offer).

A couple of years ago I interviewed with Oracle Transcription and the lady who talked to me seemed very nice. I was a little put off by the IC status (I don't need bennies - hubby's are fine) mostly because it's not familiar territory. The tax thing makes me a little nervous and I wouldn't know where to begin as far as transcription software. This company seemed to be very flexible in schedules. I also liked that this company was very anti sending work overseas. But, this was 2 years ago and I doubt that position would still be available.

So, how do you go about making an easy transition from employee status to IC status and which companies offer IC positions without treating you like an employee?

Thanks

Employee status? Thinking about it
Are all companies pretty much the same as far as qualifying for employee status?  1200 lines per 8 hour shift?  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks
you're right, about SE taxes; wasn't thinking about IC status with that.

Considering Keystrokes...ortho
Any current information would be great!  I am wondering about the work load, dictators and how steady the work is?  TIA
Keystrokes Ortho pay

I was just wondering if anyone who works on ortho for KS would be willing to share what their average pay/production is.  I just got hired and am very excited but also worried because the line rate is a lot lower than what I'm used to.  I've been doing acute care with high ESL for the last 11 years, so I'm hoping that the ease of the clinic work will make up for the low line rate.  I'm, going to be working in ExText.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on the account but most of them for ortho are on the sm
Scribe platform. I found it to be easy to learn and really like working in it.
I tested for Ortho account
I tested for an ortho account and had 1 blank but they did not hire me. I thought I did good.
on my account, which is ortho, I had to have my own equipment...
but that only requires a foot pedal...someone else just posted that you can use a C-phone from them if needed but other than that you need your own equipment...
I lasted one job on their ortho account
was told right up front, first sentence by the trainer that the system was very intricate and difficult; she was right - 50+ page manual just on how to access the system (four separate systems to log into before you could retrieve a file). No samples given because prior reports can be accessed through one of the systems (and who wants to spend all their time searching through old records to find canned text?). I thought I could rock it with 16+ years experience but said no thank you after completing the first file. I will say one of my fellow MTs works there on a Bayscribe account and had wonderful things to say about the company - it was just my bad luck to run into an account with a horrible very unfriendly MT system.
Keystrokes structures it like this for ortho
The Keystrokes manager who handles the ortho department structures it where you are assigned your own physicians. You have 24 hours to have the work done. You must pass a test though, but it is not a hard one.
Kelly, which account are you applying for??
If you are applying for ortho using Emdat.  There is LOTS of work.  Im not sure what account the person who talks about cherrypicking works on, but there has been tons of work lately.  Again, not sure what account she is talking about with the bad dictators because ALL of the ortho emdat docs are pretty darn easy compared to other nationals.  The pay isn't the greatest, but I would rather type easier accounts for less pay then ESLs for 1-2 cpl more.  I really enjoy working for them.  Hope this helps!!
I love my ortho account but I have only two doctors and know sm
them like the back of my hand.

I have been at KS for about 8 months. The account was frustrating at first because the client has a lot of their own rules and they are very picky. Once I had them down, about a week and a half, I started to fly through the work. I love working with the ortho lead, Cheryl, too, so that makes it easier. She is one of those people that works so hard and is so nice that you want to make her happy.
I am also on the Scribe ortho account and love it...
the changes they made are wonderful...
I agree 100%...I have been at Keystrokes for 2 years doing Ortho
and I love it...best company I have worked for...
Keystrokes does. I have worked on ortho only for them for 2 years. sm
I have my own docs and my supervisor is great. She leaves me alone to do my work and as long as I do it well and on time, she leaves me alone. I prefer this, so it is a great job for me. I average 14,000 lines a pay period and make 0.09 per line. I do use their insurance, which costs me $204 per month, but it's only me. So far, so good with the new insurance!

I'm not sure if they are hiring but it would be worth trying.
Looking at applying with either DSG or Keystrokes. Any up-to-date info would
be appreciated such as work availability, etc.
