I have quite a bit of experience over the years with differening companies (that happens after about 20 years!), but I can truly understand why you are upset. Yes, these companies have many demands on them and a lot going on, but they also must understand that the MT is a professional, we need to work and pay bills, and we deserve to be treated with respect, courtesy and professionalism. I start to get bad feelings about a company that seems to be very disorganized, it always makes me worried WHAT ELSE they are disorganized about, what kind if tech help and support, QA, etc. they keep around. Depending on whatever else you have on your plate right now, I would call in and ask to speak to this tech, and tell him politely but very DEFINITELY that you are upset that he has missed your schedule set-ups, or that he did not come at the agreed-upon time, and that you will notify the company that you have moved on AND WHY if there are any further problems. And then, any more problems, I WOULD tell someone in management, the MTSO lives through the goodwill not only of the clients out there, but by having good MTs set up and ready to work. If word gets around that they are a disorganized company, then they will suffer bad word-of-mouth with the MT community, have trouble finding good MTs to even reply to their ads, and they will not have an adequate MT staff (in addition to probably not having a good, dependable office/tech staff). We really have to stop being afraid and speak up if we are truly not treated fairly, or are misled/mistreated by a company. OUR TIME IS VERY IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE, TOO! But I would definitely call them, voice your concern and DISPLEASURE, and see what their story is! Best of luck to you!
