They only hire ICs. They are a nice company.
Wow, when did that happen and why did they not hire out
for editing? They spent a lot of money in getting their system ready for outsourcing, so I am sort of surprised they switched again. They sure did not have that account for long
I am thinking objectively ... to say they are nice is subjective .. to say sm
my paycheck sucks is objective. I am not one of those happy little housewives who type for pin money as some see our profession. I am the sole breadwinner. So, being nice to me and calling me honey and sweetie is a plus, but .... what pays the rent is my check. Regardless of the insurance hike, how do they justify not paying for the headers and footers when they are paid for them? 200 lines a day is a loss, and that is on the conservative side, despite the previous poster. I quit the TT yahoo mail group because all were rah, rah, rah ......... no one ever allowed anything borderling negative. No matter how wonderful a company, sometimes there are doubts and fears which need to be expressed and shared with what you hope are friendlies ...
Yes! Nice lady, nice company. nm

I had never had this happen until I worked for my last company -
Your story sounds very similar to mine. I wonder, does your company have initials that start with D by chance? My main account had a few ESLs, but nothing like what was on the backup accounts, which soon very nearly became my primary because I was assigned to do jobs from them every day. I would just finish a batch of them and here would come another! They seemed to be the worst ESLs and the worst reports under the sun. I went from an easy 1200 lines a day on my primary to scrambling around to get 1000 and working 2 extra hours on the secondary accounts.
It was not like that in the beginning for me either. Everything was fine. They used to ask how things were going, etc., and fairly distributed the work. Then the company grew really quickly and they just dished out whatever work to whoever was on at the time, with little to no regard if it was your secondary or not. I suddenly felt like I was being fed a steady diet of garbage because quite frankly, though I complained and fussed, I could wade through it.
Their idea is that the work needs to be done by someone. I am sure it is not personal. You are just a body to them. Just decide if you can deal with it day after day. After 6 months of this and it steadily getting worse, I finally decided to quit after nearly 2 years with them. There are companies out there who offer better work assignments and care about their people. Best of luck to you! :-)
I had something similar happen with a different company
It drove me nuts, too. It certainly doesn't make you feel appreciated, does it?
Are you referring to a specific company? If so, which one. We know these things happen, we need
:+
I was thinking about applying for this company
myself as an SE but I had been reading some bad things about it and got scared off. However, I have read some very good things about MQ too!
Oh no! I was thinking about applying with that company.

I'm thinking I work for the same company....
but the queue shut off is new to me. Was this in an email or a recent conference call?
I went through a recruiting company, thinking they
would have leads on companies who might not want to post an ad for some reason and that I could find something paying better, etc. They represented 2 companies I think, one of which I had already tested for, been offered a position, and rejected it. They knew this but wanted me to go through the process again. I did and they offere me the same thing that I was offered before and I again turned down the position and then never heard from the recruiting company again. It was the same company mentioned by someone else.
I recommend posting your resume on all the free job boards and also applying to any company that meets your needs, as far as employee/IC and hours, etc.
I have posted my resume before and got probably a dozen responses, most of which I weeded out right away due to low offers. I tested for a few and was offered positions with all of them and even took one of the offers, but that company eventually went out of business. I posted my resume again and months went by with not even 1 offer, and then several months later I got a few offers. You just never know what the response will be.
Not accurate. Must be another company your friend is thinking of.

Don't you think other MTs thinking of applying with this company would have liked the same info?
:+
I was thinking the same thing. I'd definitely pass on this company. nm
Oh really? What company do they carry their insurance with? Thinking of applying there.
nm
I am thinking about starting with eMTS. Please let me know good or bad on this company.
Account is 65 cpl without spaces.
Would a national company hire me?
I have several years experience working for a very prominent healthcare institution doing acute care, clinic, and hospital dictation in every specialty and subspecialty imaginable. We were never assigned accounts, so my exposure to all of the specialties and dictation by hundreds of physicians at our institution was extensive throughout the years.
Over two years ago I had to take employer-paid disability and have yet to return to work. I have hope with my latest treatment that I will be able to return to work soon and have contacted my MT department head, but did not hear back. Although my reviews were always exemplary, my attendance did suffer slightly prior to my taking disability. I say slightly only because I still attempted to work a portion of each day even while ill and the actual amount of days absent was not that high; however, working at a healthcare institution our attendance requirements are necessarily strict.
If my department head is unwilling to take me back into the department, I don't know what I'll do. I love MT, have great skills, am highly accurate, and don't want to give up on this career. If worse comes to worse and a position will not be available for me when I return to work, do you think a national company would hire me with over a two-year lapse in my work record?
Does anyone have any advice or ideas in this regard? I desire to stay with my current employer, but don't want to leave medical transcription. Thank you.
Re: Axolotl: Do they hire for QA within company or....sm
can someone apply there for it. Looking for PT MT/PT QA. Any info appreciated...............
It is an Aussie company, but they do hire in US MTs.
nm
Not all companies hire PT. My company
does not because of fees they have to pay for rights to programs, etc.
Is Keystrokes a big company or small? I am thinking of applying. Time to leave the Q. nm
The sad thing is that I do not even think they would notice if I left. I am a high producer but not very vocal and they seem to have forgotten about me :(
Seems like a nice company - sm
Nice pay, nice people, nice account.
They are a nice company...sm
Here lately you never know when you are going to have work, they have some of the hardest accounts I have ever tried to transcribe, but the pay is good, they do pay headers and footer, the people are nice and flexible, so I personally would give them a try.
Nice company
I work for them. Small company. Always pay you on time. Must maintain 98% accuracy on your work. What type of work are you applying for?
Nice company but...sm
if you're in need of health insurance, it is very expensive!
Nice company (sm)
I had to quit due to other commitments but good people to work with. I enjoyed the work. Pay is as stated and I don't remember having any problems with pay being on time. All in all good experience with them.
No company will hire a newbie if they can't spell better than you can
nm
Not me. I have been with the company for a while but every time they hire they overhire so
obviously that affects all of us when they do this.
Very nice owner, nice work, nice place - sm
the leave you alone. I left because they do not budge from their pay which was kind of mediocre. I would go back if I had to because they were extremely nice.
Oh! That's very nice. We sometimes have gotten a V-Day gift from my company.

Are you a nice company to work for. nm
:
Nice company to work for. sm
Pay always on time. Weekends are not required. They do not pay for spaces, but do pay H/F. Line rates are better than average to good.
nice company to work for -----
Mongoose is simple to learn and doesn't seem to have the problems with freezing up and losing jobs that I experienced with Chartscript at my last job.
Who then will hire for part time and is a decent company?(nm)
Gerri, I worked for a company as management that had would hire
a lot of American transcriptionists just to get the ball rolling on new accounts, and little by little would send it over to India. The company would have me send a little bit of work to India, have it QA'd on our side, and send it to the hospital. The better the Indian company got with the account, the less work we would give to the US transcriptionists. The nasty emails from the US transcriptionists got to me after awhile, along with my conscience, and I quit for the company.
I'm thinking NOT..on the company's name. Probably a company with a bad rap
wanting to post anonymously so people will actually apply, but I could be wrong...
Yes, they do. Nice little company. Plenty of work.
Pay on a weekly basis. Internet based platform. I do think they are still hiring.
I talked with them and she was very nice... the company she wanted to
.
It's nice to actually CARE about doing good for the company again.
Very nice company to work for... friendly and
good QA. It is sometimes difficult to get a high line rate though. Not sure why, but maybe because headers and footers are not paid for. They do pay for spaces however. Good Luck in your decision.
Good company, nice folks...sm
I recommended a friend and she is one of 70 being hired for a large university hospital in Utah. I heard they landed some other big accounts. No VR at this time, which is important to me. Pay is on time. They have a sign on bonus now. Line rate is better than most.
If this company begins with D, your pay goes back to new-hire rate if there are ANY blanks in it

Can anyone tell me if Administrative Assistants is a good company to work for and if they hire IC
or employees.
Second the motion.. Nice people.. Best company I have worked for.
They really care about their employees and it shows..
Nice company and benefits but production can be tricky.
nm
Former DRC/Acusis MTs - Have you found a company as nice to work for (sm)
as DRC with good software, pay, benefits, etc? Looks like REALLY good MTSO are few and far between.
Nice company, but they use the DocQScribe software that MQ uses. Lost too many lines with it, so
s
Can anyone tell me who a really good SE company is that is solely internet based and are nice to
work for with decent accounts. Thanks much.
Wow! If you aren't interested that's fine but why bash this company for doing something nice
employees? I really feel sorry for MTSO's in this day and age of constant bashing. They simply can't win. If they try to do something nice and creative, they get bashed. If they don't, they get bashed. How 'bout giving them a break and going back to the rock you crawled out from under?
Different company but no slow down, swamped but we were before holidays. Nice having work..
DSG is a great company, pay on time, nice management, incentive, but SM
occasionally work load is an issue depending on shift and account but if you're willing to be flexible, you should be okay.
