It was for me.

I worked at home for years and finally went to work for a great hospital, being paid hourly with excellent benefits and 3 weeks paid time off. Although my pay at the service had the *potential* to be more, on paper, I had to be honest with myself and admit that I was rarely hitting that mark--mostly because I wasn't ever truly sitting for 8 hours a day, cranking out the lines. I am MUCH happier at the hospital. My checks are higher, I get regular raises every year, paid time off, and I still get to work from home. Because we have to punch an electronic time card and our boss watches us, I find I am more disciplined.
