I found them on the web, but not their company site. I found a write up they are combined 20 or more years of experience and they have MTs in the US and India. I am still a little afraid to apply, though, since I have never heard of them even on this board. Any input if anyone knows would be appreciated.

What?! Do you have your number listed in the phone book?
This is the same info they can get out of the phone book, i.e., name, address, and phone number. This is not what they use to commit identify theft. They would use the general information from your resume to phish for more detailed information, such as SS# or bank account/cc account info. This is also what they would get out of your trash if for some reason you don't shred this info before you throw it out. Also, with past employers, they are only allowed to give basic info, such as length of employment and whether you're eligible for rehire. They can be held legally responsible if they give out detailed information about you!
I am very realistic that I'm not immune to identify theft, but also I know the law and know that I shouldn't be paranoid about someone stealing my identity. I take the appropriate steps to protect myself and monitor my credit report frequently.
Provide it to the moderators along with TB's phone number to call. :)

Can anyone from the Ohio MQ office give me a contact person and a phone number to call so I can talk
to someone there without getting a lot of other people involved before I find out what kind of accounts they have to offer. I am interested in transferring from my current office but would like to speak with someone up there first. Even an email address of someone would help.

I applied, got an email with a confidentiality agreement and was told they were sending out test files on Monday. I missed the boat on that as my motherboard died. I did get that fixed last night and sent the form in today. Have not heard back yet. Of course, it's like so many other companies, they post saying they need people ASAP. You apply, test and wait and maybe a month later you hear something back.

Honestly, I have no idea. It had all kinds of stuff in there that they may send you, etc and that you would be expected to send back if asked and all. I've never received anything like that before. I figured what the hell, was not anything I did not agree with. Just different. Still have not heard back, so I may have missed out on the chance to test.

Been with Navesys for awhile now. No problems. Work is abundant. It's worked out well for me. I find the staff very easy to work with.

Navesys is a great company. They are working on bringing more accounts in and moving to a new platform. You get paid on time and they have direct deposit. It is not run 100% out of India. I am not sure if the Navesys I am talking about is the same one as the other person was talking about. They have a corporate office in Lakeland Florida and the people there are wonderful to work with. Very understanding and thankful for their MT's. Hope this helps!

I took a job with Navesys a few months ago. The work has been steady and so have my weekly paychecks.

I would definitely check back in with them. I have been working for them and can say that it is probably the best job I have had as an MT. They pay regularly which is a plus these days. The people there are great to work with and are so helpful. They believe in giving the MT's the things they need, to do the job. I am really happy there.

In my experience with a few bigger companies they say they do not send to India but they really do. They do have a website as well. Not sure why the other MT could not pull it up.

C-phone - I purchased a c-phone from someone in Oklahoma but never got it. *sm*
First she told me her grandmother died. Then she told me she mailed it. Then she told me her daughter was having chemotherapy. Call me naive, but I thought she was sincere and cannot imagine anyone using their daughter as an excuse. If this is the same person from Oklahoma, I sure would like to know about it because now I want my money back.

And, as I said, some accounts are using wav files -- no doubt soon all of the accounts will convert. Hope so ... would make it easier (less expensive) to work when traveling. :-)

HIS just needed US-based MTs so that their clients would stay and they could finally break even!
Tax ID number
I am just trying to estimate my taxes and my tax program won't do anything without a tax ID number....I tried the Medquist board twice with no response. could some former or current MQ'er take pity and email me the tax ID number?? smedmiston@bellsouth.net.

I got offered a full-time position and got phone numbers and e-mails with no problem. I have the transcription manager's cell. E-mail for details.
They did offer me an check if i wanted it. I chose the direct deposit, but i think they will pay by check too.

1. I come to this site for a break and to see what other MTs are doing or not doing. Sometimes I post and sometimes do not.
2. No one said anything about delirium but if being happy because your are not being taken advantage of by a company, then yes, we are; however, apparently some just want to express relief.
3. Hanging out on a site where people are looking for a job for transcription, to me at this point in my life, is to break and hang out with my peers.
4. Large groups of people are not deliriously trying to get people to Keystrokes, I think just sighing, I know I am after all I have been though.

About my name, I love it. My great-grandmother suggested it, so I got it, then got her first name as my middle name. So it worked out perfectly.
There are a number of different
versions of Meditech. I type in Meditech Magic using Shorthand expander. I know lots of people copy and paste from Word, but I'm afraid I will screw something up. I really like Meditech because I get paid by the gross line. I make more money on this account than anywhere else. I also like Meditech because the patient's entire chart is available so rarely do I have to leave any blanks. Lab values can be verified, x-rays reports are accessible, etc.. It's not made for the MT, true, but there are a lot of benefits to using it.

Why would an IC need to give out a SS number? They don't match your contributions, so I would think they would have to accept a tax ID number. I really don't know. Probably curious as well.

I think there are a huge number
who lie about their qualifications and experience. The company I contract with has hired MTs who claim to have 10 years experience. Their final product looks like they are recent graduates of IHA who failed high school English.
