It depends if you are employee or IC. Employees cannot hire sm

assistants. Most companies make you sign a confidentiality agreement, as do most hospitals and clinics. Those agreements should state (every one I have seen) that you will not let anyone have access to personal information or use your IDs. Letting someone listen is a direct violation. I read your post and went to the Privacy Manager at the hospital where I work to verify this before posting this response. She is our HIPAA specialist and told me that letting anyone listen or read a medical report is the same as telling them about it and a direct HIPAA violation.

Only hire as employee if they have 50 employees in the state you live in. NM
My state would never be one.
They hire both IC and employee. I am an employee (see message)
and I have full benefits. I am very happy that I came to work here. I came as a statutory employee from a large company. Everyone at MDI has been great to me.
Depends on if you are employee or statutory employee (sm)
Employee, 8th and 23rd of month
Stat. Employee, 15th and 30th month
Does KS only hire employees or do they hire ICs too? nm

Do they hire ICs or employees?

Not KS but I only hire FT employees for many reasons. sm
Whenever I have had PT employees, they end up putting their FT job first and I have to scramble to cover for them if they are required to work a weekend or extra hours. The licenses are also expensive to have for a PT person and I pay the same insurance for liability on part time people as full time. It costs me as much for a part-time person in terms of unemployment and other taxes too, so I have saved money and headaches by only have full-time employees and have invested the extra money in those individuals in terms of PTO and benefits.
They do hire people as hospital employees, but
it's not the great situation it's cracked up to be. The hospital complains about everything possible to the account manager, who gets nervous about losing the account and it's all downhill from there.

It's too bad because it's a great idea in theory. Unfortunately it's human nature to pass the buck and place blame on those at the bottom of the totem pole, so that leaves the nameless faceless MT's on a daily roller coaster of paranoia and hysteria.
Which companies hire statuartory employees?

.

Old posts said they hire employees only, used their own software, & their was
s
Depends on # of employees if it applies. Also
Statutory employee is not the same as an employee. Statutory is basically an IC... no overtime at all.

It depends. If they invested in the the time and expense to hire you, sm

to train you, ship you equipment, set up your software etc. and you did not give it a fair chance (at the very least 2 weeks) before quitting, I'd say they'd be extremely gracious to even consider taking you back.

If you worked for them for awhile and gave the platform and the company a fair trial, and then ended up leaving, then yes perhaps they might hire you back.

All you can do is ask.  JMHO.

Depends on the accts you get put on. They hire people every month, tho'! nm

Webmedx hire part time employees...sm
I'm really happy there.  You might give them a try.
Depends on if you're talking about US employees only or
Still at about 12K total including ICs and ILPs.

I don't know if they hire IC, but as an employee
you'll never get that rate, you'll be lucky to get 9 and I'm not sure you'll get that.   Don't know about crap dictation as I turned down a job with them due to their offshoring.
Oh, do they hire employee or IC, Thanks. sm
If employee, do they offer benefits? They don't say much on their site.
And does TransTech hire IC or employee?

Does TransTech hire IC or employee. Looking for

Does TTS hire ICs or employee status only? nm

They hire you as an IC and treat you as an employee. nm
.
depends if you are employee or IC
if IC, DOL won't touch it. what has worked for me in the past is write them a final email stating they pay by a certain date or you are going to start posting this information against them on the company boards. it usually makes them very angy and say they will sue if you do but they can't sue for something that is true and will end up paying you.
Does Ablescribe hire employee status?
If they do, any comments on how they pay QA? Good company?
Does anyone know of any companies who hire PT employee status? nm
x
They hire you as employee, not IC. 600 lpd is PT. Their QA really lacks in communication. nm

Statutory Employee: What services hire SEs?
I have enjoyed the flexibility and tax part of being an SE with MDI-MD, but it seems very difficult to find any service who will hire SE.  I see IC or FT or PT, but not SE.  Could someone give me some leads?  I searched the archives, not much current info. there...thanks!!
Does any facility hire MT directly as IC or employee for eScription? sm

I do not want to work through a service again.  I am tired of running out of work. If anybody knows of any leads, even if they aren't hiring right now, please e-mail me privately.  All responses will be confidential.  I am looking for something for myself, not to be posted to others.

Thank you in advance.

It's not rocket science - you need specific hours = hire an employee (sm)
You need a specific TAT but not specific hours = hire an IC. The IRS, each state's Workers' Comp laws and so forth make it VERY clear about what determines an IC and what determines an employee. If a company needs someone from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Mon-Fri, then that is a part-time employee, and in some states automatically a benefited employee.

For example, if you need a housekeeper or nanny for specific hours, that person becomes an employee. I vaguely remember a politician getting in trouble for this a few years back - not paying taxes, etc. for a nanny, by calling her an IC when in fact she was an employee.
She is definitely an employee. This company in Georgia has 150+ employees. Forty hour
work week is one thing but having them get very upset when you are working 50-60 hours and be nasty when the account is still behind but saying no overtime, no way is a very different thing.  I advised her ask the department to check out this company and out get out of there anyway.
It depends on your account, employee status, amount of work agreed, etc. NM
x
They no longer hire part-time and may be eliminating part-time employees within the next 6 months.
They are going to have those that are PT go FT if possible. Some accounts require 1 weekend day, but not all. Most transcriptionists have 1 account with 1 back-up account. I know that they are hiring for hospital accounts in medical records and radiology right now.
I've easily done 600, but it depends on the way a company counts lines and it depends on the
dictators. Obviously, if you have a good share of ESL, there is no way you could ever do 600 or 700. On really difficult ones, I usually run around 400 lines an hour and I have been working on this platform for 3 years.
Me too. As soon as there is a little extra work they hire and hire and then noone has any. This
goes on all the time.  I get sick to death of it.  I think having 2 part time jobs is better so you have 2 jobs to count on.
Oh for sure employees, but not too often for statutory employees. Sorry for confusion.

Attn: Any Transcend employees or former employees
I have been offered a job with Transcend, but I am not completely sure about it yet and I need some input from you guys.  I have read positives and negatives regarding this company but alot of it was pretty old information.  Can anyone give me some recent feedback on them?    Thanks very much!!!
Statuatory employee versus regular employee....
Can someone tell me the difference between a statuatory employee versus a regular employee?  My company offeres IC or SE status....I am confused about whether switching over the SE would benefit me more than IC status that I have been for some time with them?  What are the benefits and disadvantages of being an SE versus IC?  Thanks for all of your help!
They have IC and employees, employees get benefits.
Good company. I am very happy there.
Does anyone like it at Precyse? New employees? old employees? nm

Diskriter - Anyone go from their employee to hospital employee with them?
Thinking about giving up on being their employee and applying for a hospital employee position through them, they have one in PA right now that looks good.  How is it for scheduling?  Do you keep your line rate or get whatever the hospital pays? Who manages those accounts, is it the same PM and DR that are on the other ones?  I have DR and feel like she doesn't have a clue what she is doing and it is so annoying, but I just don't have the guts to let the company know she needs to step it up a notch because the transcriptionists are not happy under her.  Are QA the same people or through the hospital.  They have 1 QA that is constantly asking us questions on doctors and format, things we should be asking that QA person.  Annoying that new people move up to QA but people who've been there 2 or 3 years get treated like dirt and jumped account to account.
Only employee and statutory employee..no IC
nm
LOL!!! They would hire anyone, they just need to get
YIKES!!!
DSG does hire ICs

hire-on?
no, I took their test on-line though...I am shopping around right now for a fair well-known company with a simple format -- I just want to transcribe and be paid for it, none of this tier stuff
Yes they hire IC as well, which is what
I would suggest as this company is not very loyal to their employees.
Do you know if they hire nm
n
Do they hire FT and PT? Thanks! nm
x
they either over hire or have a lot
of MTs leave because they have been running ads for several months now.  I would be leery of that.
Do you know if they hire IC's? nm
x
Yes, they hire ICs.
xx
Why? You want to hire us??

do they only hire FT or do they hire PT as well?
I thought I seen a post somewhere on here that said only FT. I really don't want to work more than 30 hours a week and I know most places cut FT at 32 hours a week. Not that I couldn't put in 2 more hours, but if I had a choice....
Does MDI-MD hire PT
Thanks :)
