We get 1/2 cent difference for being IC versus employee.  However, self-employment taxes are 15.6% or more.  ICs don't get insurance or other employee perks either, which can add quite a chunk of change to the "cost" of an employee.


We've absorbed all the overhead costs for the MTSO.  We pay for our own training, office space, utilities, office furniture, computers, software, reference materials, Internet access, telephone, unlimited long distance, and anything else I omitted.  Instead of our wages going up for saving these costs for our employers, our wages have gone down to compete with offshoring and VR.


My suggestion would be to SHOW ME THE MONEY.
