It's a rumor. They have growth plans, not selling plans. nm

I think they want to be bigger than Spheris, not bought by Spheris, and if they continue to grow in the next few years as in the last few years, I think they can.

spheris growth plans
Spheris just announced they are gearing up their Indian operation and hope to downsize their domestic force by 50% by summer. They justify this by saying it is necessary to position themselves as a leader in the global market. Layoffs should be starting by the beginning of June.
Here's a link with Spheris growth plans

Keystrokes is not for sale at this time, and there are no plans for selling in the foreseeable futu
This is a rumor started by someone for absolutely no reason. There are a few companies out there who have approached Keystrokes about selling and have been turned down. A few have been very agressive and do not like to hear the word no.
The company has been growing steadily for the past 10 years and has agressive growth plans in place for the next 5 years.
If you have any questions, contact one of the owners or member of the management team directly. They will answer your questions.
This is just another example of someone trying to stir the pot.
Not every company is for sale, at any price. Although that may change in the future for the owners of Keystrokes, right now they enjoy growing the company and improving on what they have built. It will be several years before the idea of selling would be entertained.
they have different plans
.
I wonder what she plans on doing next?
Is MB still there?
They have several different plans to
choose from. I have one of the Aetna ones. My only surprise is that it didn't cover all my labs and I got a bill for about $50 for labs. I called to ask, and they said it appeared there was a deductible. I didn't see that in any of the pamphets. It could be just the plan I chose. Other than that it's been fine.
They have several plans.
I think they are quite affordable. There is quite a lot of reading to do though with all the different plans. Ideally you have a friend who knows about benefit stuff and can help you. My head was spinning, and usually I find it quite easy to wade through that stuff).
(I don't have to cover dependents either, so nobody ask me about that please).
Don't know about OSI but TT has about 9 or 10 plans

Which companies do not do VR and have no plans of doing VR? nm

Do you know if they have plans to eventually sm
start up SR on the DocQScribe accounts?
and you must be 13 and the reason why she changed her plans

Various high deductible plans when
Back in 12/05, they had 3 high deductible plans, lowest deductible of which was $1500. Believe it was 1st of month after 90 days when it kicked in. Don't know if it's changed since then.
My mgr sure does not say that!! Webmdx is not offshore, nor do they have plans, sm
to go offshore- one of their big selling points to MTs is that they are 100% domestic!
I thought they were looking for less expensive plans
xx
Webmedx - you can choose between 2 plans - sm
500 vs 1000 deductible.
It doesn't look like she plans on paying...sm
I am not one to recommend on how to get your pay. You may have to go through small claims court. I really don't know. It just sounds to me like she has been paid already and is giving you the run around. I'm sorry you are having to deal with that, and good luck.
Thank you! You summed up my thoughts and plans exactly..
Thank you! You pretty much said it all.
I expect that 2009 will be the last year that I will work full-time as an MT.
The owners at Keystrokes have other plans. They want to be sm
as big as Spheris or Transcend but still stay the way they are. I talked to the owner last week and to another manager about something unrelated and the subject turned to MDI-MD. The owner said that at this rate, they'll grow just from the MT's and customers who don't want to be part of the offshore trend. They won't go overseas and have no plans to sell for at least several years. They just bought a platform, are adding offices to the office building and plan on staying. She did say that she thinks that a lot of the smaller companies won't survive the changes in healthcare so they need to grow to stay in business.
Talk to her. You'll be surprised how easy she is to reach and talk to. I was. I was nervous when I called to talk to my manager and the owner answered the phone. She ended up helping me and chatting for a while. I was impressed, which is a first for me.
And they hired 300 Indian workers with plans for
Spheris Inc. of Franklin, Tennessee, has hired 300 people for its new center in Coimbatore, in India's southern Tamil Nadu state, and plans to add another 700 workers in the next year, company president and chief executive Steven Simpson told reporters.
honey, all incentive plans look good until
they find some reason not to come through with the pay out! Good luck!
I cannot get flat rate plans in my area...SM
I presently use One Suite but am reimbursed. I used to use Vonage but it does not work well with the account I am presently on.
Yes, my husband is self-employed so we have individual plans but...
the preminums keep going up and up. I realize they also do when you work for a company, but since they get a group rate, the hit isnt as hard as when you are self-employed. Once you have a medical condition and your self-employed, the rates are horrible. I am going to check into some of our plans here locally just to see. My husband and kids are on their own individiual plans and they do have a copay but all we could afford was the cheapest plan which does not cover a lot and like I said every year we get hit with higher preminums just to end up with less coverage. It is very discouraging.
TransTech has NINE health insurance plans
.
Look into insuring yourself. Many health plans can be bought
by the individual. I used HumanaOne instead of Cobra for my family (me and 2 kids). It was $193 a month. Only stipulation was that you only were allowed 6 office visits per person per year that they would cover.
Webmedx: Which health care plans?
Hi. Can someone tell me which health care providers are offered to employees? Thanks in advance.
They are just getting ready to change plans and the rates are much lower than that.
I would do my homework first before making those statements. That may have been what it was in the past, but not now. Much less.
That is they have LOTS of different insurance plans. typo on last post. sorry. nm

Give TT some time to see if they can find cheaper plans
I also am greatly upset by the insurance hike, but I have decided to give them some time to see if they can come up with something more affordable. Like many of you, I have to insure my whole family, so this increase is astronomical.
The grass is not always greener. Changing jobs means switching out problems, and yes, some problems are easier to deal with than others. My last job (Amphion), I was so stressed out, I lost a lot of quality of life. I have young children. I can't afford to be a stressed out freak just like I can't afford the expensive health insurance. When I moved to TT, I regained my quality of life. I'm not so tired anymore, and I'm able to be a better mom. That means the world to me. I'll hang in patiently to see if another option can be found for the health insurance.
I wonder how other companies' plans compare at this point in time? sm
Not sure how long you've been with Wbx but this plan seems comparable to what we had previously; however, I know we are all paying more out of pocket - probably for every single plan at every company -in the last 1-2 years.
Dental - I still think it is a good plan but then I haven't needed a root canal.
I don't think you missed much. When I looked at the dental and vision plans sm
with AFLAC, it didn't look like they paid for much compared with the premium charged. I didn't talk to the representative guy, though, so maybe I misinterpreted the info. Anyway, I am trying to shop for something different, just to help cover the basics. I do wish I had taken out the disability protection with them, though ... maybe next year. :-)
I am extremely grateful for the insurance, though. So far, it seems to pay pretty well and has been a lifesaver!
ooops. I mean that individual plans suck..not stick as I stated in previous post...NM
Why does TransHealth run so many ads? Growth or
nm
How is it they keep talking growth
I don't think that forum would go over too well in sunshine and rainbow land, which is all their current forum consists of. Productivity tips my arse - I got one for 'em - PAY YOUR MTs and they'll work harder because they won't be so distracted by the hunger pains and collection calls!
What's in my wallet? Its REMARKABLY empty! Isn't it remarkable how Wmx continues to grow, the hours we spend in front of the 'puter continue to grow, yet the jobs available to type and our checks continue to shrink? They go on and on about how optimistic they are about the future while they are busy destroying their MTs! What the heck are they looking forward to, running the company into the ground? They've already done a remarkable job of destroying their reputation with overhiring (because the list of names on the new hire list continues to GROW), but not paying squat for 100% VR is sure to keep their MT workforce strong. They WILL have to outsource soon because no US MT will be able to afford to work there! But surely they won't mind hiring everybody in India - since all that matters is that they continue to GROW - doesn't matter what they're growing, even enemies, weeds or cancer will do. They certainly have invested in plenty of fertilizer lately.
A lot of them are hiring due to growth. To assume that they sm
cannot keep or find MTs is crazy. I work for a company that is getting new accounts all the time. I know because I help train new hires. They are one of the companies that posts a lot of openings. Just because a company advertises for new MTs often does not mean that they cannot keep MTs.
I know this is true for the company I work for in Florida and for at least two of the others that post a lot. I think that MQ having problems has been good for a lot of the smaller companies!
Definitely growth. The company has been growing steadily...sm
for the past few years. Good platform, steady pay (direct deposit, have never experienced a late paycheck), good MT support, great bennies. I'm happy there.
Still growing, just controlled growth. We would rather take care of what sm
we have and make sure that it is smooth than take on too much at once and have the problems that so many companies run into that bite off more than they can chew.
Tip: This is not the only place to advertise for openings. We have ads in other places right now and have openings for multispecialty clinics, orthopaedics, radiology and just had contracts signed for a new acute care account that will need staffing.
Rapid growth. The accounts I work on
slowed down slightly for Labor Day, but now more work than we can handle, with request to work on new accounts that just started. I could work 7/24 if my body would cooperate.
You should check your facts. They have had constant growth, being on the sm
INC 500 list a few times and articles in a few magazines. I have been with Keystrokes for 5 years. When I started, they had 40 or so MTs. Now there are over 300. They were run out of the owner's house. Then they rented an office that was very small for 2 years. Then they bought an office that was bigger and finally, this year, they built one that is huge. That is called growth. Are you going to see changes with growth like that? Yes. Are the choices all going to be perfect? No. Are the changes all going to be good? No. But I will say that if they make a mistake in a change, they are not afraid to change it back.
I think their biggest challenge is and always has been getting a good HR staff. It is time that they stop promoting MTs and look outside Keystrokes for an HR pro. The last person who did the hiring was a very nice person, but seemed very disorganized and a bit overwhelmed. I know she was an MT because I worked in house with her at a hospital for a while. I heard that they let her go last week and have been trying to fit her job in with others while hiring to replace her. I also heard that they are going to take their time and find a person who is used to hiring.
Is Keystrokes perfect? No, but they are one of the best out there right now and their growth will continue. They are sticking with the U.S. only policy and always will, according to the owners, but finding U.S. MTs is a challenge faced by many companies. Are there other companies out there better than Keystrokes? Not sure, but I make great money and have a lot of work, too much work, as they have a lot of new accounts and keep pulling people on the new accounts, asking us to work more.
I would rather be with a growing company that keeps the work here than one that is downsizing due to lack of work, such as many that we see and hear about here.
There are no problems at Keystrokes other than being very busy and trying to fill positions with the right people, which takes more than a 40-second phone call.
selling biz
pls email me more details about your service and clients (type of transcription), etc.
Selling MQ??
Sold to who? I don't know what you're referring to. Thanks in advance for clarifying.
Not sure who they are selling to but...sm
another national has offered us jobs with them and I don't think they are the right fit for me.
medquist selling
Has anyone out there heard anything about medquist selling the company??
Thanks for any info.
Selling business sm
Can you email me your contact info?
Thanks.
Rumor has it...
Baltimore. Or Colorado. Just rumors, tho. Praying not AMHERST....ugh.
Not just a rumor
It is an absolute fact that they are outsourcing. There was no DD deposit issue just a money issue, another fact. Everyone can take from this what they want, believe or don't, but just remember that when you all are sitting without a paycheck or work, you were warned.
Who's out? What's the rumor?
nm
Rumor - - yes
I am the supervisor of the Transcription Department, and I have only heard rumors! LOL! The administration likes to stick their noses in and make decisions regarding things they no nothing about, and they always mess things up - - TERRIBLY!
They now have our psychotherapists typing their own narrative notes into Ecet, and today they started typing their own treatment plan updates in a program that was just purchased (I knew nothing about it). We now outsource our initial diagnostic assessments to Transcription Connection, Inc. We are still transcribing the doctors narratives and psychiatric assessments. However, I think they will find a way to get these done elsewhere as well. One of the docs told me that in a staffing meeting they were told to make sure they proofed their work well because they were looking to start sending everything to a service, and get rid of in-house.
They do not want to say anything definite to me yet, as they still need the 4 transcriptionists they have (including myself). When they no longer need us, we will be hitting the door I am afraid. I am preparing though. I have been job searching, and I have taken all of my PTO due to surgery, etc. They are not going to take me for anything if I can help it.
I came across by mistake an e-mail path my supervisor sent to TCI, stating that if she was happy with their work they would be getting all of it. I was livid and confronted my supervisor. She lied of course and said that she had to tell the service this to get the line count pricing down. I told her that either way this was very, very unethical, that one of us, either myself or the service, were being lied to.
I am bidding my time. I am not walking out. I am going to ride it out to the end. I want to be able to get unemployment, etc. As I said, I have been with this company for going on 15 years. I have been very dedicated to this company all of these years and they are just going to crap on me. Nothing new in this day and age. Corporate America is out for themselves and no one else. It is all money.
This is probably a rumor about OSI
I am an ex-employee of OSi and did not care for some things there but I believe this is a rumor. This does not sound like something MB would do.
is this a rumor?
nm
It's not rumor...
There are plenty of posters who say they have friends that work at certain companies and offer feedback.
If it takes 3 weeks to get up to par, that's quite a long time.
What I stated above is not false. No one needs to lie about a company. I got an e-mail saying stay away from transportal they are horrible people to work for and load you up after they've sifted through the files all day.
Maybe there are different accounts and different sups or whatever, I'm just passing on what I was told from an MT friend I trust.
The girl told me they've done nothing but hassle her and she only made a little bit of money.
The moderators say to take everything with a grain of salt. Apply away, and then come back and tell us what you think.
Difference in selling and just closing down
I can understand if there were legal issues regarding the sale of a company, but rumor has it that QT is just calling it quits, I would not think there would be any legal reason not to tell anyone, maybe they are just trying to prevent the MTs from leaving before the account has terminated. Still from what I read, most of the MTs would not go until the account was gone and the doors were shut, so I think it would more professional if QT told their transcriptionists what was going on.
