yet we are supposed to fall for the sweet-as-sugar posts about a company and believe that info, when the same poster can turn on a dime and go for your jugular. No thanks! The drama just does not interest me! And all sugar coated on top with an LOL! Really makes one wonder...

I will never know. If we were talking about someone not working for a living and living off the system, maybe, but the OP referred to tax credits in place to help those who work hard and take care of a child/family.
The earned income credit is directly proportionate to what that individual earned that particular year. Therefore, they are not taking money out of anyone else's pocket, just getting to keep a little more of what they worked hard to earn.
I hate this self-pitying everyone is getting my money crap that some people spew about others who get something back that they earned to begin with. What is wrong with someone getting to keep some of their own money?

major anger issues over this topic, and it does make no sense. I'm not a subcontractor and would never work for one personally, unless they had something to offer that the major MTSO couldn't. I could care less, but there is definitely a need for them or they wouldn't be thriving and successful. They are not successful because of devious measures. They are successful because the MTSOs need them and they fill a void. And yes, your anger is misplaced. Subcontractors are doing what they do, and if you are angry at them, it makes no sense. The anger should be at the MTSO who is using subs and letting them make $. We are a business - our industry - with all the levels of players, just like any other industry. You are just keeping yourself stuck in an unhappy place by carrying on so about something over which you have no control. And if you don't like the wages offered by subs, then don't work for them. Its very odd and yes, for you, its sad. I'm not sad - its actually probably more amusing to me at this point. Baffling, as an entire page is taken up with thoses obviously wanting to fight about subcontractors, or I suspect 1 in particular, as there are lots more than the 1 woman at Trans Dr, yet she seems to be the #1 mark here. So, if you had the goal of making her life miserable this weekend, I'll bet you accomplished that. But arguing about the industry position of subcontractors as a whole, well, you just don't have much to argue about there. It is what it is, as somebody said about 3 days ago. Work for one or don't. No big deal at all. It is what it is.
wow very surprised at all the nastiness
lately when it comes to wmx. not sure who your STM is but mine is very clear on the cherry picking issue not being tolerated. i just came over to these boards recently due to low work volumes and have seen pretty much nothing but snarking and sniping at coworkers. maybe its like this all the time, but i would hope we could find better ways to cope with a bad situation than go after each other.  i have been there for quite a while and while things are rough i am hoping they will get better. it's obviously not just here, but an industry wide thing that is affecting many. that said, if you have a ton of issues with how things are run at wmx, then by all means find another place of employment - the rest of us would probably benefit from the uptick in work volumes.
I've cut way back because of the nastiness.
You can't post anything without someone calling you names or telling you to go take a pill or shower. I've got better things to do than be insulted by people who need to reevaluate their life's priorities. The world is negative enough without being subjected to trolls. I'd rather turn off the computer entirely. The little bit of helping someone isn't worth the constant negativity.

Keystrokes was a good move for me. What kind of promises could be made? We do our work, we get paid. We know our pay rate from the day we are hired. We have a book sent to us that explains their expectations and our benefits. There should be nothing to have a broken promise about.

Since it seems there are a few of us who didn't receive this 12/19 memo,anyone who did receive it care to post about what the gist of it was? Is there more work coming to justify hiring more MTs?
It just seems unreal that you could be
driven nuts by anyone who lived that far away from you. I know of the person you speak but literally have not had 1 minute of upset from them. Just hard to understand when the person is not right there with you.

This is unreal. If I were in charge of new hires,
you'd be off my list for sure. Hasn't MDI taken enough false hits lately? Here you are posting about this, when its not even happened yet. This is just so unprofessional to me. Thank goodness I'm not involved with trainees or many of you would be history. It is a sure sign of needing your hand held literally, and of just gossip, really.
