I haven't been paid yet at ALL, much less 2 days early! sm
And last time was on the 8th, not the 7th (and yes, I know the 7th was a Sunday). I have been paid as late as the 10th, and since the line count didn't go in until late Thursday night, I sincerely doubt I will be paid this time until the 23rd.
I'm glad you're such a great cheerleader for the company, but I haven't been paid early in EONS.
yeah - got my paycheck 4 days early
nm
I was asking who the one who paid early is! nm
nm
Pay on time or many times a day early.
nm
pay has always been on time or early, no direct deposit as of yet though. sm
pay has been correct. as far as accts and ESLs, i was told about 25% on my acct but i would say it is more like 50/50. you can through the system view prior reports, etc. system is different than i have worked on, but wasn't hard to learn. one biggy for me is that it doesn't use autocorrect as it isn't word based and i had a lot added in autocorrect but ShortHand is compatible. i have been treated really well, very nice people to work for. only thing i don't really like is you are an IC but have to give a schedule since it is acute care. ins can be obtained though even though IC and not bad rates.
I'm new to Keystrokes and the pay has been early or on time. Can't complain about that! nm

In the early days, MedQuist said working at home was a benefit, therefore at-home sm
employees did not receive as many benefits as those working in-house. As I believe, it was something like at-home employees got 3 days off a year versus 10 days for the in-office employees -- WHAT?!!! I told them it made no sense to me, since by working at home I was saving them money -- no need to provide office space, equipment, references, utilities, etc. -- yet I get shafted. I was only part-time when they took over the previous company with their great policies, and I told them to kiss where I can't.
IC only, direct deposit always on time, or early. Fast QA feedback. sm
Pay is based on 65-char line, spaces included. Caring and very available staff. Lots of work.
not to mention, this feels like a push to make this just a part-time
job because it seems to be happening already. My partner drives a school bus and they do that to the drivers, they only allow them to work so-many hours a week, with absolutely NO benefits, other than the few the union has gotten them, and the bit higher pay scale. My partner also has had the union fight for his job many times especially when new managers would come in and right away want to 'clean house', get rid of the higher paid, senior drivers. It costs him 37 dollars a month though for 10 months and that is a drag too but in the long run, he does have some protection and the union is only as strong as its members. they are also in bed with management most of the time but these managers are usually nasty, aggressive, and would rather just hire their friends and family, and that is one thing I appreciate the union for, if nothing else...
you have to have an advocate - someone has to have our best interest in mind if we are ever to keep our jobs...
OSi with part time health insurance and paid time off
OSi does offer health insurance and paid time off for part time. Yes, there have been changes. Yes, there will probably be more changes. I don't see anywhere that hasn't had changes. If they don't change they will be out of business the way the economy is these days, just like some other companies. If they don't make money, then I don't make money. So, what is so different with OSi compared to other companies? I see complaints constantly about all companies. I don't think it is the fault of the company that they outsource or use voice recognition. It just is life on life's terms these days. There is still enough work for us, at least for me.
Is it still being paid on time if you are paid on the 1st and 15th.....
and if the 15th falls on a Saturday getting paid on the 17th? My bank is open and posts on Saturday that means I am not being paid on the 15th doesn't? This has happened a lot lately.
Are you kidding?? You don't get paid for 45 days. Geesh, I wonder if your creditors would wait
that longer to get paid...probably not. You go over 30 days and they start hounding you. I definitely would never do a job that took that long to get paid.
Ugh - well I did all my work on time and I expect to be paid on time.
The phone company doesn't wait, the cable company doesn't wait, and the electric company doesn't wait for their money either - all of which I need to pay in order to do my job. I work when I am supposed to, I help when behind, and give 110%, and I ask for my check to be on time.
I think if an MTSO is going to have to mail checks they should do so priority to make up for the delay.
Nope. I have gotten paid on time every time.
You must be thinking of somewhere else.
That is what I just said. !0 days PTO, period. That includes vacation, sick days and personal days
They should have paid holidays so that you are paid if you take off. Also should inculde extra hours for sick days and personal days.
That annual raise of .002 is kind of a joke especially when at the same time they upped the minimum line requirement from 10,000 lines to 12,000 lines.
OSi just does not have the qualified people in management positions that I wish to work for.
I am glad that you are happy at OSi and all is working out for you. Their dishonesty and the way they treat people just does not work for me.
Of course they can get by cheaply by hiring unqualified people so that is very good for the owners.
Is it okay to not receive any mail from the office for a few days at a time? (sm)
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Had been getting memos quite frequently and now nothing since last week. Didn't want to call the office and look like a boob, so thought I would check here first. TIA.
NEWS FLASH: Everyone's time is valuable these days - SM
even a lowly transcriptionist's time. Working at home does not make it less so - in fact I'm finding the opposite is true in my case, since I have to work so many more hours to make 1/2 the pay I made as an inhouse MT.
The very least a recruiter (or anyone else, for that matter!) can do is show a little respect and if unable to keep an apointment, at least let the prospective employee know, don't just leave them hanging. If a company doesn't treat employees with respect, how do they expect the same in return from their MTs? Totally does NOT make sense.
Actually, the policy lapse time is approximately 63 days.
I've never seen it 45 days but maybe that is what several companies are changing to.. I hope not. With the 63 day lapse between policies, it helps because it gives you a chance to get your own individual policy for a month or so because or in the interim when you get another job and wait for that new policy to kick in.
Yes! I have plenty of work 99% of the time with the exception of a very few days sm
when it was slow everywhere but nothing that has ever affected my check drastically. I have been there for 6 years.
May I ask if not getting paid on TIME
x
Always paid on time....sm
Nice folks to work for - small agency. When I was with them, they paid weekly (never late). The problem I had was that they would assign new accounts or new doctors to you without notifying you first.
Not paid on time
The only negative I have heard about this company is that they DO NOT pay their MTs on time. MTs are having to BEG for their paycheck, which is not professional at all!
Never - always get paid on time
nm
paid on time
If you want paid on time, health insurance, PTO, good feedback, please come to work for Keystrokes. I started in January and would not leave to go anywhere else. The company is hiring now and needs basic 4 MTs. I'll get off my soapbox now. Thanks.
Because we don't get paid for down time
they would have to mark the hours as not working and thus not getting paid.
Paid time off
Welcome to the real world!!! If you are low man on the totem pole do NOT expect T-day or Xmas off -- those holidays truly belong to the MTs whom have been with the company for years. You can't even be expected to work outside in the corporate world and have a 2 week paid vacation after a year !
Time for a registered letter to them with a copy of your invoice for payment within 10 days or
s
always slow this time of year...doctors take extra days off, et cetera.
it will pick back up again soon...
I work them now..always been paid on time
and the changes that might be coming
I'm the OP..again, I've always been paid on time
I'm wondering about these several accounts going with speech recognition (many accounts that I have worked on), and what that will mean for us in the long-term.
PAID DOWN TIME by Diskriter - sm
Who are they kidding? I have to agree with the above poster, Diskriter does make Medquist look like a wonderful company. IT EVEN MAKES Spheris LOOK GOOD!
By the way, when did Diskriter start hiring PT????
I do not get 3-4 months paid time off
every year. I do work 50 out of 52 weeks.
Paid on time, but not good.
;;
I always got paid on time at Nicholas..sm
I think there were possibly a couple of times where it was 2-3 days late, but she always let us know what was going on ... she's a nice lady to work for, friendly and flexible.
Biggest drawback for me was pay was only 7 cpl at the time (about 4-5 years ago), and there was slight disorganization due to rapid growth. New tech issues, specs, staff changes, etc. Decent dictators, though, and I liked working there. I left due to the pay.
All that being said, I now have my own MT service, and I personally do not agree with paying ICs when an MTSO gets paid. I consider that a business expense like any other, and I allow for and recoup those costs from the clients accordingly. An MTSO's collection issues/methods should not be the IC's problem, IMO. I believe an IC has the right to expect regular payment for services rendered.
If you can accept the payment arrangement knowing there MIGHT be times you'll have to wait, it's a nice place to work, though.
Got paid, but once again not for all my lines. Third time in a row
I have been shorted. I'm done.
Cindy always paid me on time...
When I was there earlier this summer she paid once a week with a 1-week holdback (so you should get your first check in a couple weeks).
I have worked for her twice...for a while in 2007 and a while in 2008 and never had a problem with pay. In fact, her line counts usually came out higher than mine.
Good luck, I hope you like your job there.
An IC should not expect to be paid on time!
Then, the MTSO should not be expected to get her labor provided either. My goodness! What nerve! Good luck to you in recovering your much-deserved pay!
There is no paid PTO or sick time.
They still have not provided the *'much more to come'* benefits. I have the most sour and unhelpful team lead. Just about any company would be better than Focus.
But, have you always been paid, and in time for bills
Are they dependable, and good income, really need to know. If the paper check is dependable, that would be okay, but really need to know specifics on reliability of pay, company, etc. Thanks again.
Are you paid for your time to look up names, etc? nm
nm
After 90 days full time, you are eligible for health insurance, 401k, Aflac, sm
and life insurance. One year for PTO. Direct deposit right away.
I am happy at Keystrokes, and happy with the benefits. The insurance is a little high, but my husband has a union job and it would cost us more to have him carry all of us.
The HappyKeystrokes poster seems to give a lot of misinformation. I have as much work as I can handle, but I do not type 350 lph or whatever amount she/he claims. I average 200 lph, up a little some days, down a little other days, but that depends on the doctors dictating, my motivation for the day, etc. Spring is the worst as I have hayfever and headphones bother my ears right now.
My check is right, is on time and is direct deposited. My taxes withheld are correct and SS has been paid (unlike somewhere else I worked that messed up my SS and did take out for state taxes). My lead is supportive and I think the company cares about their employees. I am happy with Keystrokes and cringe when I see posts like Happy Keystroker writes, which make us all look like Stepford Wives. This is a job, just with a company that I like working for.
I wanted to paint a more realistic picture.
AND I SUPPOSE YOU GOT PAID ON TIME LAST PAY PERIOD? NM
X
Can you elaborate? Do you get paid on time? Do you have enough work? sm
Are you radiology or acute care? What kind of problems?
How do MTs get paid if it is not on time sheet. Are they just working to keep
p
In the past 4 years I have always been paid on time
x
P.S. I am full-time too and they have paid holidays. (nm)
x
Above post asks do you get paid for your TIME to
x
Umm, I am paid every other Friday, on time. Work
x
They have NO paid sick or vacation time
You will likely not find any full timers who are happy there.
I did some work ON MY TIME helping them and Rebecca never paid me either.
Bad way to run a company.
Pay on time, do have direct deposit, paid every 2 weeks.nm
