I am so glad you posted this. I just left Klaar too after only being employed 30 days. I have to wait another 5 days the bookkeeper at my bank says before I can call her back to find out if my payroll check from Klaar is good and has not bounced. The owner/Klaar told me he would wire me the money if I didn't receive my check that day. He made this statement (in email) 3 days in a row. He said he heard on the news this was the busiest time of the year for U.S. mail because of Christmas. And HELLO--what is the deal with mailing payroll checks and not placing them in a priority mail envelope??? I'm not afraid of naming this company, K is for Klaar. The owner's manner is creepy and unprofessional. How does this guy keep his job? Then he angrily emails me back making statements like I need to retract on my slanderous remarks because I'm now telling him I'm receiving information from former Klaar employees. In this stressful world of many bills, there are no words to describe how infuriating it is to know you've wasted time on a situation like this. He stated my claims just weren't true. BULL. Dept. of Labor will get a phone call from me if my 2 payroll checks bounce from this guy. Also, no one will answer the phone in their office that I phoned many, many times. Very suspicious and underhanded.

Ladies: I PROMISE that if I find out that both of my payroll checks from Klaar (there are only 2) actually clear the bank and are okay in my checking account, I will return to this post and let you know that I retract my negative statements about Klaar. The payroll checks are drawn on Wachovia. Don't know if that is good or bad, Chicago area. I SINCERELY HOPE that both of my checks clear and all of this is over. I don't want to contact Dept. of Labor but I will because one way or another, I WILL GET MY MONEY/WAGES. I EARNED THEM.

There always seems to be a few with their heads in the sand at Spheris - but please! Go look at your corporate email list and see how many Indian names are on it! It grows every day. Good accounts at Spheris disappear every day and that's where they go. You never read the company forums? Just because your job is still fine doesn't mean you can ignore the suffering of the majority of your fellow employees! And to recommend someone else go there just to get burnt is really mean.

but I am powerless to stop it, so I might as well give up. I wonder if the clients even know what really happens to their dictation, that it goes to India first, then to the MTs. The work IS done by american MTs, so that is a plus, although they even tried outsourcing to another Indian company and lied to the MTs that it was due to the holidays ... this was at the end of January, no holidays.
If they want to be upfront and say they are an Indian-owned, Indian-operated company employing mostly American MTs, that's one thing -- people can make an informed decision -- but to say Kentucky based when the company HQ is in India is nothing other than deceit, and my fellow MTs deserve better than that.

offered a position quite a while back and turned them down for this reason even though I have nothing to hide either.
those bonus checks aren't extra money...you would just get tw bigger checks rather than 3 checks

Last I knew, there was only a handful amount of people who still work for them. Most of them on the last straw with them. Communication was worse than ever and the don't even pay their people.... big surprise there. Couple of MTs still waiting for there last few paychecks.

I started on the apprentice program in Jun, with no experience. Through the excellent QA and correction process they have, I have greatly improved my % and have been given an increase in pay. I was not paid on time when I first started out because of the problems in the company not getting paid as stated in other posts. I have now been paid in full for the work I have done there, just as they promised. The work load is consistent and VERY plentiful! I feel respected and part of a team. I will NOT be looking for another company any time soon! Good luck to you. Hopefully, you will be able to find the perfect fit as I have.

I received an offer for an MT/Quality Asessor job with these guys, and a couple things about it sort of seem odd. Firstly, I've never spoken to anyone there, never had a phone interview or anything, just filled out the online application and took the test and boom, job offer. Is this common? I've only worked for one company from home, and I had a phone interview with them, so I could be just inexperienced with how many companies hire their people. Secondly, am I understanding the offer correctly? There's an evaluation period where I don't get paid for the work I do???

Bouncing paychecks....
 Is there anything you can do when check issued by company bounce? I have only worked part time for this company about six months, but this is the second time one of their checks has bounced. I am only working here until I get a few accounts on my own independently so I that is why I have continued to work for them. I just cannot believe a company would be so money-tight as to issue bad checks for work that has been done. Anyone ever have this happen to them?????

Have been working with them for about 6 months now. There have also been good posts about this company. It's amazing how people forget the good. They are great people to work for. They have had problems in the past with pay, but that has been resolved. I've had no pay problems since then. They have consistent work. The owners actually care about the people that work for them. I will not be looking elsewhere for a place to work!

etranz in GA is still bouncing paychecks. sm
I just got an email from a friend/former co-worker of mine who also worked for etranz in Georgia. She had over $1000 in checks bounce. It took her almost 3 months to get them, finally did and now they have bounced! Please, if any of you MTs know of anyone who is looking for work, please be sure to steer them away from etranz. They make their ads sound great with weekend incentives and higher line rates, but getting your paycheck is nearly impossible....and when you do get it - it may bounce.
Please pass the word around about this unprofessional, unethical company!

This will be the downfall of MQ if they continue this bouncing people around. Whoever thought up
this way for MTs to work is so entirely wrong that there is no way they have ever ever done this job. They are totally to the wind doing this. Anyone who has ever done MT work will say that the best way to get the best lines and best quality is to keep MTs with what they know and what they do best. One main and one backup is all anyone should ever have to do. We have constant complaining in my office from the hospitals about things that are done wrong and it is ABSOLUTELY because of people not used to the account hopping in when they run out. Bad bad business.

MQ will just continue to lose accounts and there will be less and less work. The entry level MTs cannot produce nearly what the experienced MTs can I know this from my supervisor and they send everything to QA because they arent sure of themselves so does this make sense. Not to me.

I really don't think it's lying. When they
assume that to mean as part of the everyday situation. You're are just starting up with this company and I think it's expected that you would type a few days to become familiar. What will you do if a new account comes on board? Usually, as QA, you'd be the one to test the account out and get the feel for it before offering advice/suggestions to the MT staff. I guess you could always refuse to type and just not get paid for that time?

Keystrokes does not give pay raises. I have been with them for several years and have not received a pay raise. I meet my line requirements when there is work available (more often than not). I would suggest that if anyone is accepting a position with Keystrokes, do not leave your other job until you have worked a couple of days to make sure it is really what you want.

Seriously, if you read over the board, it looks like a few oldies who are bitter or newbies who cannot get their foot in the door. It doesn't sound like professionals with realistic complaints. It sounds like very withdrawn, angry individuals who do not come out of their shell except on anonymous boards. :)
For the MTSOs who are unethical ... I think they should absolutely be shut down.
Still yet, no one forces you to work for any company. It is entirely your choice. So, make a different one, please.

100% Indian, so I guess saying they don't offshore to India isn't a total lie. They just have an address in the US, which someone posted previously was actually a residence.

There are lots of dubious posts out there by MTs who are sure they know the truth but maybe they stretch things too b/c they had a bad experience; maybe they were legitimately let go and now have it in for someone. Anyway, I don't think there is any legal coverage on this site or any other b/c (as stated) it is an anonymous forum.
Basically take everything with a grain of salt!
