FutureNet part time - how many hours required? (sm)
I understand they have a high percentage of ESL, willing to do that for flexibility and less than 20 hours per week PT. I would love just 8-10. Anyone know if it is worthwhile contacting Futurenet or know any others that hire limited hours PT?
Does anyone know if Futurenet hires part time weekend work? (nm)
FutureNet is a Calif. tranny service, www.futurenet-tech.com ...nm

OH - I thought part transcription, part escription, but don't know for sure
nm
They no longer hire part-time and may be eliminating part-time employees within the next 6 months.
They are going to have those that are PT go FT if possible. Some accounts require 1 weekend day, but not all. Most transcriptionists have 1 account with 1 back-up account. I know that they are hiring for hospital accounts in medical records and radiology right now.
No PTO for part-time. Not sure if you can work part-time or not since recent rule change. sm
You do pay a deposit for their equipment.
There is a part-time and a flexible part-time, just left there and they offered
me both. Flexible, however, is more or less when they need you (I.e. weekends), part-time is fixed hours.
Yes I know they hire part time because I referred someone there for part time.
They are internet based.
From what I understand, the part-time positions will be only be for those that are already part-time
It is not a restructuring of the company, just of some of the existing part-time positions.
I know that there are a few employees who have been with Keystrokes for many, many years who are part-time and they will not displaced.
Other than that, there have been many discussions why there will not be any new part-time employees hired, and I really don't think they will back down on that.

Do any of you know of any MTSOs using Futurenet software...iType, iPlayer, iSeries, iText?
Futurenet uses it.

Can you work out of your home for Futurenet? They are located in Monrovia, arent they? I think they used to be in the same industrial office area as MQ.
futurenet
TONS of ESL, but pay is excellent and they have weekend & holiday bonuses that are very good! Very flexible and easy to work with.
FutureNet
Thanks for the info. I was offered a position with them today. The account that they told me I would be doing I know has a lot of ESLs. I am debating whether to take the job or not. Anyone heard of HPI (Health Information Partners)? It seems like a good company. Thanks again for the valuable info! Have a great Xmas.
FutureNet
Has anyone heard anything about this company - good, bad or ugly?
FutureNet
Terrific company, excellent pay, office staff,QA and Tech Support great. Other than no benefits, company extremely hard to beat
FutureNet
We've definitely had different experiences with the company. I've typed for them as an IC for about 2 years - guess I've gotten used to the account and dictators. Some are still bad but for the most part, they're ok. Quite a while ago they did have a gal in the office that was hateful but she's been gone for a while now, and I've found the rest of the crew to be terrific. Sorry you had a bad one with them, though. It is so hard to find a decent company; feel I found it with FN but went through a lot of companies until I did.
FUTURENET
Please let me know if you know anything about this company. How is the staff, etc.? Thanks!
FutureNet
It is a terrific company, friendly group. Typing platform is one of the easiest I have ever typed. Have worked for several companies and highly recommend this one.
FutureNet
Anybody working for FutureNet? Any info, good or bad?
futurenet
I have been with FutureNet for about 3 months now...after leaving Medquist...had been with Your Office Genie before MQ took over...15 years total. What you have at FN is a good portion of the old staff that was at the Monrovia office of YOG/MQ. I find them great to work with and have enough work and so far no problems..but then I have known most of them for years...mtgal847
FutureNet
What do you have to do to be SE with them? nm
Futurenet QA
How is QA at Futurenet? Do they dock for blanks, follow strict BOS or client specifics, quibble over commas, etc?
TIA!
FutureNet
Great company, great pay, direct deposit if line requirements are met and a lot of ESL dictators
FutureNet
Does anyone out there know what transcription program FutureNet uses and how difficult it is to learn? Just finished my shift at MQ and am exhausted from DQS...Thanks!
FutureNet
They use a word-based program called iType for some accounts, but I believe they use something else for another (which I'm not familiar with). I use iType on my accounts, and I found it very easy to learn. Hope this helps!

I just interviewed with them and saw some posts asking questions. I did my homework and asked a ton of questions based on experiences with other companies and some things I saw here. They were perfectly willing to answer them in detail and were very frank about the accounts and the difficulty, etc. Some places try to skate around the real answer, and that is not what I got here. I don't start until later this week, but I just wanted to let anyone considering know that they had no problem with questions that other companies sometimes act like they don't know or just don't want to answer, and believe me, I had a list!!

Anyone know what's going on at Futurenet? Really good people to work for but now usually running out of work or NO work. Heard they hired a bunch of MTs from MQ. It sure feels like MQ. Work o.k. between paydays and when payday gets close, the sharks who don't work other times decide to come in take all the work from those of us who stick to our shifts and are there all the time. I'm sick of companies like this and I'm really disappointed. Looking for PT work to fill in. I have a certain amount I have to make each day and now instead of doing it in 8-9 hours, I'm working around the clock and 7 days a week because of this. I'm sick of it. You would think management would look at who is there day in and day out, or at least cut out PT when there is no work available for FT. Oh, well - just sign me blue
FutureNet
I'm with you. I have been at this for 6 years and met my financial goal this last month. Now, am running out of work every day it seems. The thought of going to a new company is dismal because it takes me about 2 months to get up to speed on the learning curve. It is so very discouraging. I am ready to look for a new vocation if I could only think of one!
What is going on with Futurenet now? sm
Is work still low? Have they lost or gained any new accounts? Any changes? Curious about future employment.
FutureNet
Unfortunately, the work flow is still low.
FutureNet
I work for them, and they have 550 jobs this evening! Something must be wrong. Even though they have work today, lots of times, they are out!! I use for backup only.
FUTURENET
First of all, the majority of the management at FutureNet are former Your Office Genie/Medquist employees and I have worked with them for the last 15 yrs at YOG/MQ. They are great to work with...I always have enough work...and get QA backup whenever I ask for it..if you do not get an answer from the first person you talk to, there are other people to talk to there. Just keep trying. As far as work and workers are concerned, it was emailed out that the work was there but not many MTs were working their promised schedule and they were told they would have to hire more MTs to cover the work...so that is what is happening...it is a very good company to work for.
Futurenet does not. nm
Futurenet
Does anyone out there know how Futurenet counts lines? Do they pay for spaces? Thanks.
FUTURENET SM
Salutations, group. I am seeking information from someone who has or does work for FutureNet. Is this a good company? What about specialities or acute care? I am trying to gather enough information to make an informed choice whether to apply with them or not. Having had some poor experiences in the past, but willing to give another company a try, I would like as much info as possible - both ways - before I spend valuable time applying, testing, interviewing, etc. After reading this board and the other one, it seems that there are more bad companies than good. Also, I am applying for a radiology position where the work is done on-site. Can anyone tell me the going rate for in-house transcriptionists? Line? Hour? I haven't worked in-house in a long time and am totally out of that loop.
FutureNet?
Any current info on FutureNet? I know there have been past posts on them but just wondered what the current situation is like there. Any input appreciated! Thanks!
Futurenet. sm
They have converted 99% of their accounts to the word based program. I believe there are several Expanders that work with their program. As far as their so-called connection to YOG, well OF COURSE THERE IS! Tom Liu, who owns Futurenet, worked for Carole for years and designed and maintained the Cottage program software. When he started his own business, other than maintaining the software, they had no connection and they have no connection now. Good riddance to Carole, I say.
futurenet
what account were you on?
Anyone know about FutureNet
Any info would be appreciated.
FutureNet anyone?
Any current or past FutureNet people care to comment on their satisfaction? Any info appreciated. Are they just IC? How is the platform to work on and do you need a special foot pedal or pay for any software? I know I've heard they have a lot of ESL, but so does my current account, so...was just wondering about workflow, the staff, etc. I'm only looking for part time, so don't know if that would work, but if IC can't see being full time at one place, done that and didn't work out too well when work runs low!
TIA for any input.

Personally, I don't know why anyone works for a company that refuses to provide direct deposit. With today's automation, there just is no excuse. Some companies are even paying with Paypal now, so no wait, no worries. I have worked for four nationals in the last 15 years and all of them provide DD. I wouldn't work for a company that didn't. Plus, not only does futurenet not provide direct deposit, you have to pay for having your paycheck delivered. No thank you. No way.
FutureNet
Does FutureNet require you to work a weekend day? How about holidays?
futurenet
No they do not offer DD but pay is always on time. As far as ESL it depends what account you are on. I work on three different accounts and have no DSL and have been with them for over a year.
FutureNet
I worked for FutureNet a few years ago, and it was a good experience. I didn't stay becuse the work was slim at that time. They have inherited much of the staff of the former Your Office Genie, so that would be a good sign, I think. Give it a try. Good luck!
FutureNet's DD....
They told me they DO have DD but you have to work there for six months to be eligible for it.
futurenet
Just emailed my supervisor there, i will let you know.
futurenet
Yes, I work part-time there. The platform is very, very easy to learn. E-mail me. I can give you more info if you like. You can also IM me.
Futurenet
Very good company to work for.
FutureNet
Does FutureNet do acute care or clinic notes? Acute care is definitely my preference!
futurenet
They do both. I have worked there for over a year.
