Does anyone work on Bayscribe?
I don't know how I did it, but I've changed the size of my font when I was typing -- I think I enlarged it slightly. The spacing is now off and some of my words run together and other words are split. I know it's just on my screen and the final product will be okay, but it's driving me nuts to look at. I don't know what combination of keys I hit. I tried fixing it by going into the customize button at the top, but that doesn't work either. Can anyone tell me what combination will get me back?

there is definitely a Transcription Manual located on the left hand side of the menu page.
Anyone familiar with the BayScribe program can attest that it is very MT friendly and extremely easy to use.
As far as training, mine was also brief. However, I was supplied with contact information (emails, phone numbers, and IMs). Bayscribe also has online support. In addition, I was given sample reports for all doctors I would be transcribing for. I printed out the Transcription manual and studied the instructions. If a question comes up...I ask.
How much more training do you feel would have been necessary to perform your job? Did you ask questions or request any additional training?
Everyone has a right to share any experience whether it be negative or positive. However, there is a huge difference between opinions and facts. Unless you are 100% sure about an issue, don't present it as fact.
Doing so makes you as unethical as the company you are posting about.

Used to work for them, got the same e-mail...
I used to work for them and I received the e-mail stating now is the time to come back. They are not the #1 transcription company in the nation, and if they do have 85+ hospitals, where are they? I spoke to one American the whole time I worked for them..QA, team leaders, etc...all are Indian!! They tried to correct work that was already correct. They did not know what they were doing! How can they be QA and fixing OUR work when English is not their primary language? IMO, they are not a very professional company, and if someone spoke up just once to tell the nation about this company, I can guarantee there would not be a focus infomatics.

I was a little troubled by that e-mail, too. The funny thing is, I work
an IC job that supplements my pay, and I got a call just Monday because I had not met my producton goal there. Apparently another vice president decided to earn a check this week...LOL.
No matter how much they jump up and down, you cannot transcribe what is not there. I was more than happy to remind that individual I do not get paid unless I work, so not meeting goal is probably MORE critical to me.
I thought by busting my tush on 2 jobs I would be guaranteed never to run out of work, but both failed me this past holiday. For all the gymnastics, I will be working all weekend this weekend just to have a decent paycheck. Sigh.

Transcend cares only about the big pay for its managers and corporate people, nothing for its MTs. Pay used to be decent, is less than mediocre for that horrible editing platform we are forced to use. ROMs have nothing to do but yell at the MTs and invent first grade games to play. I would rather have had the $1.48 postage and $1.00 it cost for the mouse pad and strip calendar.
Remember the old days when Edix used to give the Drake and Drake drug book for MT week? That was when Edix was a good company, too.

I've worked with BayScribe for 18 months and LOVE it! Everything is on one screen, no toggling through screens between demographics, transcription, and copies.
MDI-MD -- Bayscribe
May I ask you how long it took you to learn Bayscribe? I haven't read anything bad about MDI-MD; they almost sound too good to be true. Or maybe it's just that there really ARE some good companies out there. It all looks SO overwhelming to me that I'm almost afraid to try it. Any encouraging words you can give would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

You can move through fields using the tab key. Alt D will bring up the doctor's roster.

I currently work on the Bayscribe platform and I absolutely love it! It seems to be very MT friendly and I also get a great line count. Hope this helps-

It's okay--I have worked with a lot worse. Pretty simple and easy to learn. Doesn't slow you down in any way, I don't think.
i like bayscribe too,
your cc list, adt, text area, QA comments, are all on one screen.
but i saw recently where about 3 companies were mentioned that use it, and i cannot find where i wrote them down.
its not perfect, but i think you can go pretty fast on it.
Try MDI-MD. They use Bayscribe

It's kind of a bare bones kind of platform, but I really like it. You are not slowed down by opening up a lot of windows for your demographics, transcription page, and copies. You can access your own reports, but as far as I know, no one else's. Hope that helps.
