I was part time with MQ and full time with KS and now will be KS only. I am radiology, make great money and have a great lead. I would recommend them to all MQ MTs that are thinking of leaving.
The email is KeystrokesNow@aol.com. The fax is (630) 729-3177.
We do not have a referral bonus, I am just trying to help everyone that is feeling displaced.

MQ Houston office closing? I was thinking about applying but I just heard that they are closing
the Houston office soon. What's going on with them?
Oh, the irony!
I googled 'cassie long' medical and found this post in the #2 slot, which seems appropriate given the character of this person:
Subject: I've had enough of
Cassie (long rant.), I've never really liked the character ...
lol!
Call it irony
Ironic, but the only place I heard about MQ being sold was on MTstars.com - does that tell you anything? HMMMMMM
You miss the point and the irony of your post!
They are mass hiring still and have NO work. The future is the future, and now is now. I certainly think it is unethical at the very least to continue to hire MTs when the ones who are there are scrambling for a job or 2. No matter now nicey-nice they may be, that is NOT nice, no matter how you slice it. They have no right to be hiring with work shortages, unless they state that up front, which, of course, they do not!
With respect, the real irony sadly is
that if you've followed these boards for at least 2 years, you already had an idea of what was going to happen. Several MTs made an effort here to warn as many as possible about the future loss of jobs. Many of the posts were ultimately deleted. I agree there is nothing gained from rehashing the past other than we must learn from it.
QT made a business decision. They built a company, made a profit, saw more/better/different profit elsewhere, designed a plan to get from point A to point B and moved on - happens every day in the business world. From all appearances, they did everything right for a while - had they not, there would not be this group of really great MTs struggling to deal with the loss of a job and the stress of starting anew. QT had an option - they could let their dedicated MTs know what was going to happen and ask them to ride things out as long as possible or they could just squeeze every last drop from each MT and each account. Too bad for the MTs but, after all, it's only business. If there were lies, deception, half-truths, etc., this too is a part of the profit/loss bottom line.
The real irony - and this is public knowledge - is that former QT owners have started new businesses and are bragging far and wide (see internet blogging) about their new employees.
Of course, finding a new scrapbooking job will probably be a little easier than finding and securing a new MT account.
You think?
I have a prediction (purely for entertainment purposes, of course) - Profits will not sustain the new venture/old lifestyle for very long and that within, oh 24 months or so, there will be a foot dipped into a new MT venture, since the old one was soooo profitable, and old habits are hard to break.
Actually they will all be closing,
Except the corporate office, of course.
QT closing
yeah, like they would be kind enough to give anyone advance warning of anything. They strung along all the MTs and office people with empty promises and lies while they chortle all the way to the bank. They are NOT nice people and I hope karma bites them in the butt for the way they treated their MTs and office staff. As for severance pay? Can ya hear me laughing? From what I hear there were only a handful of MTs left, but agree with other poster, what a horrible time of year to dump your employees, be it MTs or other. Very grinchy of them
I know. They THINK they have built in their
seniority benefit in their PTO plan. Ahhemmm. Hahahaha
No. They have one built in. But I think sm
if you speak with tech support they might (don't quote me on it) be able to convert it for you. Nothing is windows based and no internet. You build your shortcuts from scratch.
yes, they have their own built in...sm
spellcheckers AND autocorrect functions. Some (including me) prefer Chartscript, others prefer Bayscribe. Since Chartscript uses Word, I was able to still add my updated Stedman's medical spellchecker program. Bayscribe does not use Word.
ColumbusMQ Closing
Have you been told where you are being transferred??? I hope not to Amherst---your accts will be overstaffed and you will be out of work in no time. It seems like everyone who is tranferred there with their accts is out of work shortly there after. It happened with all our accts when were transferred to Foxboro and Amherst. Has anyone had any contact from the Foxboro office lately?? I wonder if that office will be closing soon if all their accts are going up on DQS all the MT's would be transferred to Amherst
Chicago MQ--closing
Do you know where you are going to be transferred to??? Please not to Amherst
Does anyone know how many MQ offices are actually left???
are you certain the office is closing?
You might want to call there and ask.
Closing in on 3 months at KS...
and I'm very happy. I did not have full time work right out the gate as expected, but in the second week I made noises about it and they did get me backup accounts. Now I have tons of work and a real sense of security about it. The support has been great. All the managers are accessible and responsive. I came in while they were putting together a whole new benefits package so the dust is still settling on that, but I can't complain compared to what I had at my last company. When I was company-shopping I felt discouraged about all the talk about different companies, but this looks to be a situation I could settle into for what's left of my work years (too many!!).
I heard they were closing down
completely! Something about never making any money in the MT business.
Closing date is 08/31 but there's a 15-day
nm
Does Bayscribe have a built-in
medical dictionary?
Yes, purchase (or have one built)
Yes, I would like to purchase one or if it is more cost effective to have on built I would like to do that. The platform that I use now is VERY expensive. If some knows of a company that can build one for me I would appreciate the info.
Use the ESP expander built in - you put all your own in.
nm
They are being built in Mobile, AL
So at least the jobs will be here.
You should see the new house he just built! nm
curios about MQ Ohio closing
where and when was that announced?
Ohio office closing
I remember something about MQ consolidating down to just four regional offices, but never heard of the Ohio office closing. Columbus is the only one in Ohio, but I am still curious as to where this info came from?
MQ Ohio office closing
This is to MQ'r--previously on the board there was a posting that the MQ Ohio office was going to be closed at the end of the year, if this is the only office left in Ohio, do you know where you would be transferred to. I thought you would be transferred to another office in Ohio but seeing that this is the only one that is not going to work. From what I have read on the board I would hope that it is not to the Amherst office.
And Chicago CSC is closing also as of end of October...nm
nm
Warminster closing probably end of year.
:
Difference in selling and just closing down
I can understand if there were legal issues regarding the sale of a company, but rumor has it that QT is just calling it quits, I would not think there would be any legal reason not to tell anyone, maybe they are just trying to prevent the MTs from leaving before the account has terminated. Still from what I read, most of the MTs would not go until the account was gone and the doors were shut, so I think it would more professional if QT told their transcriptionists what was going on.
P.S....or if facility is closing and provided that
Which they almost certainly would in most cases. This law has NOT proven to provide the protection for laid off workers that you seem to imagine.
technically, after the closing, then employees not ICs
so might want to rethink
The built-in templates for the ones you create

MQ Ohio office closing-why not Amherst
What I don't understand is why they are closing an office that is obviously run very well--I don't think I have every seen anything but good about this office and yet they are closing it and continuing to leave the Amherst office open. What is wrong with this picture!!!!
Something is not right here but yet nothing is being done
Dewey/MQ Columbus office closing
I know there have been post on this board about the Columbus/Ohio office closing BUT, these were "leaks from inhouse", speculation, etc....as is the norm with MQ.
So, I'm not sure if they do close where we would all go, get transferred to etc. I just pray they don't..why mess with a great thing ya know?
Bayscribe is a breeze, with a built-in expander sm
similar to PRD+. I think also if you have Smarttype, you can convert your abbreviations as well. Another nice feature is that you get your line count with each individual report, as well as your total for the day with the amount of money you made -- kinda nice.
I think the majority of the work is acute care, but I think there might be a few radiology and clinic accounts. I'm really not sure.
Good luck!
They use a built-in expander like Auto Correct
nm
Correction: They owned the other one and built this which one which is much larger. sm
I just read this in one of the magazines and asked my lead if they were moving far. She said it is literally across the parking lot from a small office to a huge building, taking on the whole building. I am thrilled to be part of a growing company instead of the sinking ship I was on!!!
MQ offices
you got it---no, all offices are not run the same, some have different line requirements, some offer incentives, bonus's and even give a yearly review with a possibility of a raise--of course, all those things that i just mention do not pertain to my office. we have no incentives, bonus's, and i can;t remember the last time we were given a yearly review. if you wanted a raise you needed to call and ask and then follow up on it and hope that you would get one--i only wish that MQ did run all their offices the same--if you have a choice, go to the Ohio MQ office, my girlfriend is there and they are the best--stay away from the northeast
MQ offices
Not only stay away from the Northeast but the Southeast -the company is a complete disaster, and every office does as it pleases to suit the administrative people, NOT the MT.
MQ offices
The MQ office by me was told there is a hiring freeze for office workers, so they are quite concerned about their office.
been through three offices sm
since March! Going to Florida office starting September 1 with payroll being done in Dallas. Currently with Atlanta but was transferred there from Durham NC in March or April. Can't remember. If you are making 9.5 cents a line YEAH! I have been with them since 1983 when they were Transcriptions Limited and doing your job, doing extra, etc. etc. will get you a raise.
been through three offices
I work on four different accounts. They are very large accounts that I have worked on since 1990. I am not sure it would be appropriate to name them on a public board though. Sorry. How long have you worked for MQ?
There are so many MQ offices.... sm
and as far as I can tell from all the posts, each one operates as if it were a separate company. So when you state that you are happy at MQ, isn't it true that you are one of the lucky ones who happens to be at a good MQ office? It's so confusing when an MQ MT says they are happy and encourages others to apply. Wouldn't I be applying to "MQ" and thus end up where they place me? Or does each office hire on their own? And if some offices are better than others, why don't MTs who are so unhappy transfer to a good office? I don't get it.

(Note: I posted this way down below but I figured it would get more attention here on top)

re so many MQ offices
when a MQ emp encourages you to apply, they should give their name & office location to put on your application (under referral). Then they MIGHT be eligible for a ref bonus and you would be hired into that office, hence, would be with a good office. Unhappy people and all those 'why's mentioned are definitely hard to figure.
p.s. i tried to respond under appropriate post but system wouldn't let me.
They have offices in CA and NY, as well....
as India.
Don't understand, are you in suspecting you are losing an account or QT closing? nm
.
Does Dictaphone ExText come with a built-in medical spellcheck? SM
More specifically, does TransTech's platform have a medical spellcheck? TIA
Yes, it comes with Stedman's built in. You'll love the platform, it's
the easiest I have worked with.
Is there a medical spell check built in their software? n/m
nm
Can anyone tell me what platforms are similar to DQS that have their own built in line counters etc
that are good platforms with companies. I dont need to know all of them just a few of the most used ones would help. I only have used DQS.
No, they built a new one last year and moved into it in October or November. sm
I think they have a really big office now, from what I heard.
They use SpeedType built in to their system - works just like Shorthand.NM
