Just because we are MTs does not mean we do not have a right as self-employed workers to choose our own hours. The doctors only have their doors open 9-5, so what's the difference?
I am very glad to have work, and as far as I can tell, there's plenty of it to around with as many job ads as you see on these boards. Apparently, this industry is really growing (according to the ads).
As far as getting anything for Christmas, MT week, etc., you are correct. Please keep in mind that a lot of us are stay-at-home Moms (which is how this profession is advertised) and can be a little infantile sometimes. Cut us some slack.
I think we all know we're very lucky, but in every profession there is venting that takes place. It's human nature!

All Type - Work & Fairness
I can totally sympathize with you - if one is capable of doing the crap work that is who they give it to. They are short-staffed in both MTs and QA, but I understand they are currently hiring .
As an aside, I would ask ,when applying for acute care, what the volume of ESL will be and what the work-types will be for the particular account for which you will be working. I know, for a fact, you are not provided with the account information until you start training; by the way their Trainer (Carolyn) is very nice!!
ESLs could be weighted, in all fairness. NM

In all fairness, MANY companies do business overseas sm
Car makers to name one, textiles, clothing, etc. I guess it's good for the global economy. Companies take jobs from American workers all the time and send work overseas, it's not just this line of business.
You can't fight it. I think you only hurt yourself thinking that way. A job is a job so be grateful you still have one.
In all fairness, the American people need jobs.
This post and the post about your as successful as you allow yourself to be (with near 10% unemployment, 15% unemployment in my town) should be read with a grain of salt.
American businesses are in it for profit, no secret there. But lets not feel guilty about them sending us into the unemployment line and critizing their decisions is just nonsense.
The poster is trying to make us feel happy for MDI and bad for us for not having a parade with balloons for the decision. ::eye roll::
Canada has added jobs and when I read this along with Canada's leadership not allowing the country to become a patsy to predator lending, and this is what you should be saying about your country and not do what you have to do business community - I'll be fine without a job. lol
In fairness, we are supposd to get written info in October. nm

Steady work? Fairness in doling out the work?
Am so tired of crap work because I can do it, am getting burned out because of just that, crap work all the time. One of the reasons I am looking at other companies.
