In a quandry

Worked for last national service for 6 years, then all of a sudden they got puckered over QA that had never been an issue previously, and accused of line padding. Wow, what a jerky way to end a career, especially when it wasn't fact. Swore off MT after 20-some years and have been out of it for almost 3 months. I'm having twinges of withdrawal, but not for service work! My last private contract was at 18 cpl - a wonderful deal, and I have no doubts I could pick up similar work but here's the problem: When I actually sit down and start reading posts from companies and ICs, it gives me heartburn and I say good riddance, thankful that I quit when I did. Anyone else so burned out with the nationals that feel the same? It's just ruined my attitude toward MT. I'd like to get into it again, but the 6 years with this company I feel would not generate a good reference at this point. How would you go about describing your past experience, knowing you left on a sour note? I'd never, ever been accused of line padding until this misunderstanding, and it was all over expansion of abbreviations.

In a quandry
I'm really confused and would appreciate clarification. Is MD-IT (main office Boulder, Colorado but ten regional offices) the same company as MDI-MD or MDI ?? I thought MD-IT was the company so many people were saying is good to work at, but now I'm not sure after speaking with recruiter. Pay only 7.5 to 8 cpl, but whether you get raises, line incremental pay, paid for templates, etc. depends on which regional office you work for!! No 401K, but six paid holidays. 5 days PTO after first year. Am I wrong? Is the good company MDI-MD (I think Gaithersburg, Maryland)??
