When I first started, I was put on a GREAT ER account that I love, but since it is only ER reports, they wanted to give me a secondary account in case the workload ever gets low on that account. I didn't even have to ask for a backup account. They gave it to me a day or two after I started because they didn't want me to ever run out of work. I got a HUGE hospital account as a backup and never run out of work. They are bot on the ExText platform and I love them both.

I do not work my secondary if it is also low (sm)
which it has been. I know we're told to work secondary if primary is low, but I don't think it's right for me to take away from somebody else's primary account if it's scraping the bottom of the barrel too. I guess that's why I'm spending 12 hours at my computer a day to get my line count.


A few years ago my secondary went to another company and (sm)
evidently some of the office people as well, they in turn gave the new company the names and phone numbers of us who had worked the account and the new company actually called many of us to solicit us as employees. I felt it would have been okay for me to switch, since I had had no control over the account coming or going, but I didn't feel it was right for some of the higher ups to be involved in soliciting us for the new company. If anyone was in the wrong, they were. They shouldn't have shared records and personnel information like that from one company to the other IMO.



No secondary/OT posted too long..

I have also repeatedly asked for a secondary account.  I am told each time, we will get you trained on one of these new accounts when they come aboard.  Well, the new account comes on board, my account gets some work and I never get trained!  Also, my supe loves to posts OT for my primary all the time, and seems soo shocked when the end of the week comes and our account is totally out of work!!  DUH!!  Do not post OT soo soon or for so long!  I have given this company a try for now 9 months.  I'm getting sick of this crap!

Webmedx secondary accounts
If you take on a secondary account, do you bounce back and forth between your primary and secondary based on turn-around times, or do you get work from your secondary only if there's no work on your primary? I'm pretty sure it's the former, but just want to be sure.  TIA. 
One of my secondary accts has very little work , but they..sm
stat every blessed report they do, so I always get those immediately. It is TAT, but your STM can explain it in more detail.
I have been trying to be patient but have been working on my secondary account so much lately, I am
starting to think it's my primary. Been in the business a long time and understand slow times, but this has been a chronic problem for many months, so I understand poster's point of view. Stick it out if you can, if not, there are lots of other companies out there, but remember, the grass is always greener on the other side and you may be sorry you jumped ship. Hopefully you can find somewhere that will make you happy and feel appreciated.

My secondary account has been slow for weeks
but they gave me another account, so I'm good. My primary account has also been pretty busy these past few weeks. I guess this is just a slow time of year.

Have a main and secondary and almost always have work, but.. sometimes after OT has been offered (like this morning) I have nada.  Think I need to be assigned a third account or be put on as a helper somewhere.  I suppose I ask my team manager, are we allowed to request an account that looks busy, must it be an account in her Book of Business like with MQ.  Any info before I make the call would be appreciated.

I have 5 accounts with Webmedx. I am always running out of work on the weekends because like you said they call for OT and then there is nothing left for us who do work the weekends to type while everyone else is getting more money for OT.  Not very fair.  Like the other MT said beware of what you wish for.  different accounts with different account specifics is sometimes more trouble than it is worth. Haven't had a full paycheck for quite awhile.
Holy Cow -- all 3 of my accounts have work. One even OT. The secondary (sm)

one  had been particularly low for weeks now and today there is a massive quantity.  I wonder if maybe that hospital was trying out another service and just sending us a small amount. Whatever the reason, the work, at least for now has picked up greatly.   

We are having KFC for supper so I can get in there and get a few of those OT lines while they last.


Hope everyone else is having good luck with their accounts also.

I was out a couple of minutes, mostly getting secondary and tertiary accounts. (sm)
I know when I hired on I was excited I could get days so easily, maybe we are just too many on one shift.

I agree, we need our own board where we can chat without being chastised for monopolizing the board.

I think the next time I run out I am switching to my part time job and trying to get back in here this evening.

Does anyone work or have any info on Wordzxpressed?  I have been offered a job and want some feedback.  I have been in an office job since Nov and want to go back to at home transcription but don't want to get burned!!!!

Same here right now, because OT is offered

PLUS it is the end of the pay period when all the end-of-pay-period MT's decide to get on and take away all the work -- they have been resting for 2 weeks and can work all day and night and get their lines in. YUK !


I was just offered a job...
Pay rate is starting at 8 cpl for an IC.  After 90 days you get 8.5 if you have good quality.  They use "Winspread"  (not sure of the spelling).  Have been in business for 3 years.  Have direct deposit.

Don't know about the others, but I was offered

a position.  I have 20 years' experience in acute care, very good at ESLs.  They offered me 8 cpl with the potential to make big bonuses - but that means I'll have to work extra and it just isn't worth it to me and there is no guarantee anyway.


When I asked if they offshored the HR person was hesitant but said they do if the client requests it. 


The person I talked with a Cymed was evidently just HR and didn't even know what I was talking about most of the time when I asked questions about platform, line counting, etc.

It seemed like their pay per lines were a little low.  Plus, after extensive conversations with them, I felt that they had REALLY high expectations for the pay that was being offered. Unsure though because I never accepted the job after it was offered.  Hope you find out the answers that you are looking for.
When I get offered anything less than..
9 cents, I tell them right out that is low and ask if they can do better. Sometimes it works!

long age. They supply all equipment and if you have an additional phone line, they will reimburse you for that.
what do you mean - should be offered?
It is offered and available dependent upon what option you choose employee versus statutory versus IC. Do not run out of work - pay is on time/direct deposit and they communicate with you - what else do you want?

They have very good benefits, and good bonuses for O.T. and when work is out of TAT.  Is this an average rate?  I know a lot of you ICs make a lot more, but what about with the benefits and bonuses.  Is it bad? They have a good platform - ExText, and the company I am at has horrible, user hostile software.  help, please

Then what happens is you are offered
a job by that outsourcing company because you know the account, but most likely as an IC with no benefits for a year, etc., etc.  So there are hospital jobs few and far between that will stay in-house.  Eventually they all want to save a buck.

Yes - the original post offered only 7cpl. The accounts we inherited are paying only 8cpl. That 1 cent margin barely pays our very limited overhead. As we bring in new accounts we are quoting more realistic rates and paying our MTs accordingly.

We have some great MTs on our team - all with us because they know we'll always treat them like people, and not like a number.

We're open with them about where we stand, and they appreciate us not giving them a load of %$#% and promises, but the real bottom lines.

They told me that after 90 days you get a review and increase in your pay depending on how you do.
I was offered 9.5 cpl and they also
seem to offer a lot of incentives - almost every weekend - 1 cpl - no minimum required. That doesn't sound bad to me considering what MQ pays me after 10 years of service - a whopping 7.75 cpl and only 70% of that for ASR.

I was offered a job with them
in November and told I would be contacted about training. I did not hear from them until early January and training was scheduled for the end of January. I had to move on, I can't wait indefinately to make money to pay my bills or feed my family. Just my experience with the Focus training wait time. Have they told you yet that you will have a 700 or so minute long distance bill with them during that training? Just wait, eventually they will. I was afraid those long distance minutes would be minutes to India, which would be too expensive for me.
They pay me better than anyone else has ever offered.

When I was checking around for jobs, no one wanted to pay more than 8.5 for standard typing and 4 cpl for editing. I get paid way better than that. So, maybe I have missed something.


I was offered the same 7.5 cpl with s/m
4 years of Acute Care and OP experience, after telling them my line count averaged out to 190 lph with heavy ESLs. I also made a 98% on their online test, so I don't think experience counts much with them.  They did tell me that after I got off QA they would give me the .09 that I am making now, but wouldn't put in the offer letter in writing, so I told them to take a hike.  I think they are a big scam.
