If QA types they have nothing to gain by cherrypicking

This is true for any company. I used to type as well as do QA. I never skipped -bad- jobs because they would end up in QA anyway because the other MTs couldn't do them. Believe me, QA does not love a bunch of reports in QA because it clogs up the system. So I did them no matter how hard they were. I have never worked for Transtech but speaking from experience I can't imagine why a QA at any company would cherrypick jobs only to be stuck with them later in QA.

Why would they sue us? Nothing to gain.
What a waste of time that would be.
Monetary gain!
That sums it up.
Yep, those unable to gain employment elsewhere CAN
Did you learn a new word today (musn't)? I am so proud!
Teresa Vanjipuda gain...while we at it
The way she be postin jobs I think ther may be a futire for me with them. I go with the seying neber gib up. Wish me louck. When the goin gits rugh, I git goin. So fellow MTs, I think I reilly do hab a futire in this profezion. Do anyone no if Missy Clay have spellkicker?
Or the gain of their friends and suckups. They don't
buddies do. Or else they could care less and let people pick and choose as they please so what's the difference. Some get the cream while the others get the crap.

Stop rumoring.
If you have information, share with the Administrator or myself. Otherwise, leave rumoring off the board.

If your facts are true, make them public. You've nothing to lose and everything to gain.
How can you be putting your head on the chopping block when you are anonymous here?
Details have not been given in your posts. Please show us ALL the details.
Why would you be putting your head on the block by pointing out supposed anomalies in the raise structure?
Any recruiter can give out that information because it's the same for everyone. Any MLS can go to the website and see it. I have it here in front of me. I would like to see you defend your statements, because I'm not seeing the proof here.
Why would you be putting your head on the block regarding incentives?
Any recruiter can give out that information, if it exists. That information also can be seen in the job boards and on the website, as it's public knowledge. I sure don't see any out there, nor have I for months.
Why would you be putting your head on the block regarding enticements?
You say they are readily viewed on job boards, but yet you can't give details. Any recruiter can give that information, too, as they post the ads on the boards. They can also be seen on the website. However, looking back over a lot of weeks of posts on various boards, I don't see one "enticement," so we're going to need YOU to point them out to us.
If the enticement is the pay structure, then you're benefitting the same as everyone else. If the enticement is the ads, well, you get the same opportunity for shift differentials, the same CMT pay, the same benefits, the same production incentives, don't you? What don't you get that you deserve?
Also in regard to enticements, I've got to ask for clarification on a statement you made:
"...look at past and future ads on MT Jobs, etc."
Do you have details on what the company is offering in the future? If so, let us all in on it so people who don't work at Transcend know what to wait for.
Finally, no one should need to email you, because all of YOUR information should be made public IF IT EXISTS, and you shouldn't fear making it public, IF IT'S TRUE. Having people email simply allows you to privately promote your version without having to publically defend the truth of of your claims.
If you can't back up your claims, then please concentrate on making the best out of your own situation, okay? It's not right to make statements that can't be supported with facts. It doesn't help the company and it doesn't help you. If you're a loyal employee you should be trying to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. Maybe you could offer your assistance on the quality council.
What IS cherrypicking?
And how does it differ from slight "editing" to make a sentence sound better (how did some of these MD/DO get out of med school anyway??) But gosh, aren't we glad they did??!!
cherrypicking
IF there are cherrypickers, then they ALWAYS find a way to cheat, no matter what the system. Maybe there isn't any cherrypicking going on at Axolotl, but that's even worse, because it means that 90% of the dictation is crap and there is no hope to ever make a decent line count.
well at least they don't allow cherrypicking
it gets the point across..
Cherrypicking
If you have looked at the history and see that people are cancelling out of the job, especially if it is a bad dictator, I would send the job # to my supervisor and tell her it has been cancelled out of. I have seen jobs where 4 and 5 people have cancelled it and thrown it back. You are right, it isn't fair, so unless you speak up about it, it will continue to happen.
Cherrypicking
Gee, WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT OF THAT??? Done it repeatedly, and nothing has been done, thus, the frustration. You must either be the queen cherrypicker, herself, or management. And actually I think BWAHAHAHA sounds much more first-graderish than You will get yours.
Cherrypicking
It happens to me daily, and I keep complaining, but it keeps happening. Very frustrating. It's gotten to where I can predict when the report comes up whether or not it has been dumped by someone i.e. no demographics/difficult patient name to figure out, wrong facility, audio bad, or difficult physician. I thought that was not allowed and wish someone were paying attention. It typically is ALWAYS the same 2 or 3 MTs, and I wish there were a way they could set them up so that they could not cancel out of a job and if they did, they got it back without every time. That's the only way to learn and at the same time it gets old when you're left with the crap while others move on to the more money-making reports. Arrg!
Cherrypicking
AMEN and thank you. I have been stewing too much to even respond to the candy comment. Obviously someone in management who doesn't have to deal with it on a daily basis. And you are so right about it affecting my paycheck. Otherwise, I could care less what anybody else is doing, but how dare anybody think they are above doing the miserable dictations and throwing them back for somebody else to do.
no, this would be cherrypicking....snm
but you can delete it, type it straight and get paid the VR cpl rate.
Totally deluded thinking! "bring transcription back in-house to gain control of the cost."
I just outsourced a hospital where the MTs across the board were making hourly wages that would shock you. My husband, who has a doctorate and makes well over $100 K a year, isn't making what some of them were! Hospitals are outsourcing because the MTs are making way too much money for what they do! Bring it back in house? Not unless they can make it fiscally feasible and pay someone do manage the deal.
Cherrypicking on VA account?..sm
I've heard of MTs stating that they cannot do OP reports, but can anyone think of why an MT would NEVER do a C&P report on a VA account? This particular MT only types PN, H&P's, and DS. Is this the supervisor favoring this person and routing only these worktypes her way or is this person cherrypicking which reports they will type? I get several C&P's a day, and they do kill productivity as they are usually 15+ minutes of dictation to do, but I didn't think we had a choice on a VA account....
condoned cherrypicking
I thought ignoring cherry pickers was bad until my hospital actually incorporated it. I started there and was amazed at the poor quality and blanks left in easy dictations. I was earning good - not great - money. They changed it so that favored workers have access to the higher paying work types before everyone else. Now some workers are making good money because management has greased the skids for them. I have dropped in salary and there is no way to return to former pay. I guess lethargy and lack of ambition sometimes pay off. Work on befriending the scheduler rather than working on your skills. Humbug.
Does TransTech have cherrypicking too?
x
Yes, I really agree with the cherrypicking!
But if you talk to the superviser they will asign you some of the better work to break up the harder work.
This post has cherrypicking all over it.
Don't forget the cherrypicking
that is rampant and never addressed. We might as well ALL throw jobs back that we don't want to do because they kill our line count. Here's a news flash, especially for P.S., who is one of the biggest cherry pickers there is, anybody can see what you're doing when they click history. This is also being documented and there are reports printed every so often that shows every person who cancelled a job. You people sicken me. Do you think you are more special than the rest of us and can just throw back the junk for us to do? Well enjoy it while it lasts. If it were up to me, your days would be filled with assigned jobs by everybody you throw back. Once there is enough documentation, you will get yours.
cherrypicking/history
There is no way to look up another person's history to my knowledge. What you can do and what anybody can do when you are in a report is do Alt-G, then click the button that says history. This will show you every person who touched that job. Obviously if that information were so confidential, the big button saying history would not be there for anybody and everybody to click. I think the only people who would be disturbed that others are looking at the history are the cherrypickers.
love cherries but not cherrypicking
routing the best jobs to your buddies
If the work is not assigned to you, then someone is cherrypicking...nm

Team Lead Help with Cherrypicking
If you are a team lead for the Web, can you tell us who else can we tell if our STM doesn't seem to want to do anything about it when you have complained? What other option do we have?
work types
Hello,
I had consults, H&P, discharge summary, a few OP notes here and there, basically in all specialities, cardiology, neuro, GI, Ortho, OB/GYN, psych, etc.
One of the things I can tell you for sure that I didn't do was radiology.
HTH, any other questions just let me know!
Not at all. I have 3 different types of software and
all three use a wave pedal. Two of them use USB and the other a 15-pin, and there is no conflict in the programming of each one.
Work types are
discharge summaries, op notes, history and physicals, ER notes, consultations, clinic notes, etc.
Asking these types of questions will not help you
You sound like you have an ask to grind. If I were to ask these questions, I would appear unprofessional and I think we have enough of that in this industry. You should be giving yourself the warning about being careful what you post.
Work Types
Is it just me or does there seem to be a trend of work assigning lately. I type fairly fast and I find myself getting bottom of the barrel scraps lately.
re work types
it is my understanding they have clinic work as well, but i am doing acute care.
I CAN do the other work types. Not much
experience with caths or sleep studies, but can do the basic 4 without any problem. I can do the worst of the ESLs with rarely any problems, but I sure don't want to do them all day, no matter how much they pay me.
I'm hoping things settle down. I don't plan on changing jobs, but didn't plan on changing to this one either but I didn't have a choice. I'm seriously looking to get out of the MT business, but still be at home.
Thanks. Are there certain work types that seem to need help and how are the
accounts that they have and the system they use.
Do you do all work types?

Can you request certain job types...sm
Do they let you request certain job types?
My favorite type of job is operative notes and I would be more than happy to take them off everyone's hands. My ideal day would be operative notes (with an occasional psych eval and ER note mixed in). I dream of the days when I could work without a set schedule on the work types that I liked on ONE account. Those were the days.
I'm been with MQ for almost 10 years and right now I'm in the cesspool of 25+ different hospitals; never having the same doctor; I just talked to my supervisor on the phone for the first time ever last week (and she's been my supervisor for 8 months now); haven't had a raise in 5 years despite asking every year. I've stuck it out for the last 3 years being unhappy because I felt fortunate to be able to work from home. I finally got mad enough this past week that I put my resume out and now I have 3 different companies to interview with in 2 days.
Do you do all work types? sm
I haven't had any problems running out of work. I have heard from others who only do clinic, or who don't do op notes. But everyone I have talked to who do all the work types have had no problem.
As for the ESLs, unfortunately, you can't escape them anywhere. You just have to learn to deal with them. They actually do get easier the more you do them. Not my preference, but hey, I've got a job, an income. I'm happy. :-)
Types of companies
I am fairly new in the MT business, so I don't know a lot about the different types of work situations.
It is my understanding that some companies don't have scheduled shifts but just require a certain amount of lines typed per day. Is that correct? If so, does that also mean it does not matter how many hours it takes (so if having a slow day can take 9 hours ... or a fast day can to it in 6)?
That sounds like a good set up, so one could work around other events and such. If that is correct, are there very many companies who offer this?
WHAT ABOUT WORK TYPES, 99% ESL OR WHAT? ..
It's easy to get your lines as long as the work is there and you get a halfway decent work type, but if no one can understand the crap that's put out (call it 'work pool' set my managers)--- what difference does it make if they DO have work? They can have all the work they want - but if you have to put in 18 hours to get 8 hours worth of required lines , well, big deal if they do have work!
I'm so sorry for you all. We've gone through these types
of things at MQ (I've found a glass or 3 of wine helps), but I'm finally quitting to find a better company. These greedy corporations can kiss my..... Good luck to you all, my fellow MTs. Hope you can make enough to survive on or find a better company out there.
Could you do all work types, or were you limited?nm
nm
Not here. You get your work types and accounts first.
x
I don't do these types of reports for anything under $1.00 per minute.

New work types are being added to ML
.
Maybe they are referring to other work types
H&Ps and consults are still H&Ps and consults wherever you go. As you know, each facility will have specs, any differences (should there be any) would be listed there. The company you were talking to might have been referring to OPs, cardio and specialty procedures more so than the basics. Just an idea. I would not let that company get you down. With that much experience, you'll get a job easily enough. Good luck to you. God Bless.
Lots of different work types

Nah, my dad was teaching me a lesson. You know one of those types.
I have learned young how to survive. This may also include having to deal with parents/boss who give you what they think you deserve and in some cases not much. One thing I did learn though in life you may not be able to depend on others, but you need to learn to depend on yourself.
Amen to that. The only management types

I wouldn't do it. One of each basic 4 types or a few clinic
