Exactly.  The IRS does not care WHAT industry you are in.  There are very specific guidelines to be followed (I am an ex-MTSO) and one of them is you CANNOT ask or tell ICs when, where or how much to work AT ALL EVER.  Maybe you MTs who are badmouthing the OP ought to go to the IRS website and look up the definition of IC.  These companies can and should be reported to the IRS-they want their cake and eat it too...if you want a schedule from an MT at the very least they should be statuary employees.
