IRIDIUM inconsistencies

Iridium has rules that NEARLY everybody follows. Two main ones are you only do your preferred pool and you don't suspend work. One person specifically continues to do work NOT in her preferred and to suspend work that is NOT in her preferred. AND she appears to get away with it as it happens nearly daily. Below is a post on this board by that person. There seems to be a lack of teamwork on her part, which she so vehemently was excited was present at Iridium.
It may be time to start job hunting. It is so hard to have any trust in management when there is a favorite or 2 who is allowed to not play by the same set of rules as the rest of us struggling to get lines and have some money in our paychecks. This company has sure not lived up to its promises to transcriptionists at all.

myself to you I will respond. I decided to join Iridium 4 weeks after I was contacted by them. I also was told that Iridium outsourced, which was the reason for my original post. I would never work for a company that outsourced and I wasn't going to jump ship before I had some information. I worked on the account for 8 years at my previous employer, and like most professionals give notice of their intention to leave. I left my previous employer with the understanding I would be transcribing the same dictators, which has NOT happened. I have one, and that decision came from the account administration because it was the DOCTOR's choice. Do you feel shafted by everyone that started working after you because you were there first, or do you just have something against me? So much for the teamwork I keep hearing about, and how great everyone is. Maybe next time you'll reveal your true identity so I can respond to you directly.

Okay then, Scribe. ExpressScribe is the sound file and Scribe is the text document that we type in and that is the platform. I wish people would stop trying to tell me no one told me to get Vista. I was there. The person who hired me said that their platform was compatible with Vista even though it is a new platform. I reiterate that I had never heard of Vista before my lead suggested it. I would never have bought it had I known anything about how much of a headache it is. I have only used XP and that is what I felt comfortable with. If someone would let me know where to buy a new computer with XP, I would love to know because I have contacted Circuit City, Best Buy, Amazon.com, Costco, and even E-Bay, and no one has a new computer with XP.
As far as my barking dogs. I never expected a phone call from them at that time. They gave me no notice. I didnt't call them. They called ME. I put away all my dogs but only after pleading with her not to hang up on me. Of course barking dogs aren't professional, but neither is calling with no notice. If you heard her tone on the phone to me, you would have to agree it wasn't professional either.
Also, why did the first technician work with me for so long the first week trying to get my Word 2007/Vista to work? Why did they knowingly let me start with Vista if they would have told me otherwise?
You go ahead and ask the woman computer tech (to remain anonymous here) why she said Geek Squad was a HIPAA violation. Why would I make that up? I would have been VERY happy to call Geek Squad instead of suffer her wrath and humiliation over the phone. I dare you to call the lady technician back and ask her to call me back and tell me she didn't say that about Geek Squad yesterday. I dare you.

Keystrokes does not use Express Scribe; they use Scribe. Completely different things. You cannot have Vista and no one in IT or anywhere would tell you otherwise.
Barking dogs? I would have asked you to put them away too. That is not professional.
Geek squad a HIPAA violation? How? I just called IT and asked them if I should call Geek Squad about a problem I am having with my PC and they said that would be a great idea as it is my computer that is having the issue (virus I think).

I am working this morning and FYI there is plenty of work out there to be done rather than sitting here making statements that are simply not the case. At the end of the day, fast food might be the better option for you if this is all you have to do on a Sunday morning. Now I can understand all the comments from people who wonder out loud why people here are so negative. I know that your statements are not true. Get off your whine, do the work that is assigned to you and stop posting your unhappiness and perhaps just do something about it. Let us all know about your next company as well. We'll be wating.

CRAPPY management I would say... we need to confront the management en masse about the unfairness of job assignments

Has anyone ever heard of a company called Iridium Services based in Florida? They actually contacted me asking for my services -- said "a physician" gave them my phone #. I have an unlisted # and the accounts I work on don't have my #. Just wanted to know if it was a legit company or are they an outsourcing company. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else tired of games at Iridium??
I am so tired of the games of management, promises that people will follow the rules not being kept (as in no apparent consequences), my preferred pool forever changing, hurrying to save work for the weekend and either having none while others have lots, and then if you do have lots, you work your tail off to get it done only to have no work monday morning. 
What has this industry come to? Fast food work ALMOST sounds appealing ...
