Time spent in demographics
Are there any company platforms out there where the demographics are already in place? I could just scream sometimes trying to be a detective to get all the demographics in place only to have a one-liner follow. Sigh... is it just me or are there others with the same frustration. It's difficult to make rate when demographics have to be researched and the patient name sounds like Blavopvoskitapove. Thanks for any clues on this.
I just spent a lot of time checking the web and the
personally attempt it. Maybe you will get some good feedback from people who actually work there, but there was enough information here for me to realize it may not be the place for me personally... I will see if you get any responses, because I am wondering if there are good things there too... Good luck to you!
If you spent more time typing and less snooping, sm
maybe you'd make more money.
I left them not long ago. Way too much time spent talking to
tech support because of technical problems or glitches with their system. I probably averaged 90 minutes a day down-time trying to get everything in order. Their transcription platform is not the best in the world from what I saw.
ERROR: 1.60 PER MINUTE OF TRANSCRIPTION, HOWEVER, HAVE THE TIME SPENT WAS PASTING
NM
I wasn't productive on MeriT. Too much time spent entering demographic information...
There is no roster to pull patient names from, so you have to type what the docs say, and those ER docs speak at lightening speed. I spent more time trying to get the patient name right than I did typing the report. I really, really hated that.
At least you have work. I spent the money
I agree that the QA person there was very rude in the short time I stayed (believe me it wasn't long).
I just spent about the last 5 years doing work I hate because the money -sm
was so good. Which is more important to you? Sounds to me like you'd rather take the one with the type of work you enjoy more. It didn't hurt me to do that work all that time. The money was so good, it made it seem more enjoyable. Isn't it so nice though that you have a choice!
Exactly! I spend more time waiting for
work than I do actually typing! Such a joke!
Wow, I spend my time typing and waiting...
I pay not one bit of attention to my queue. I had not noted this AT ALL, but thanks for the heads up. Why is TT so shooting themselves in the foot? I left a shady company to come to TT just for that reason, because they had a great reputation and did not pull stuff like this. I certainly hope they realize what they are doing and nip it in the bud NOW. If they can salvage their reputation at this point, they may be able to pull out being one of the 3 to 5 left standing with all the work when this shakes out. Otherwise, they will be laughed at like MQ.
It is only a matter of time. VR is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Good example. Thank you for your honest input.
waiting for work
For anybody that has worked with transform..............Have you have experienced this. I have been waiting for work to be asigned to me for four hours. Yes, they asign work to you......................I have been with this company for two weeks. I made a mistake, I put the wrong date of service on a report...............................So I am wondering if this is the reason why my e-mail has not been answered, nor my phone calls, nor AOL messenger. I have not made mistakes with medical words, at least that I know (although I have not gottent a lot of feedback). I have been transcribing in this particular speciality for 7 years, so I don't think I made huge mistakes.
Have anybody experienced this?
WAITING FOR WORK!!!
In your response to FutureNet. I am currently working for them. It is a good company, easy platform, great people, but I am waiting for work as I type. I think they have over-hired, we are now caught up and out of work. Doesn't pay the bills!
Soon to be in the poor house
Waiting for work
Do you have other accounts with FN? I have four and if work is REALLY low I wait and do work for the other service I am employed with. We have several new accounts coming on and some of them are still in the testing stage. But it is also that time of the year.
Waiting for work
I also have 4 different accounts that I can work on, so running out of work doesn't happen very often for me.
I'm still waiting on work
this morning but haven't had anything come up for over an hour.
I'm on 40+ hrs, but 15-20 waiting for some work. nm
Waiting for work
I guess it is just the same with all these companies, but it can be so irritating when your supervisor gives you the morning update on minutes and is thrilled that all accounts are empty and says how great it is. Why do they not understand how distressing this is to the MT?
Just sitting her twiddling my thumbs waiting......
waiting for work (sm)
I'm getting fed up with it too. I think they have way overhired, and I'm thinking it may be time to move on. Sick of spending 12 hours on my computer waiting for 7 hours of work.
Everyone waiting for work must consider
The number 1 reason for unemployment compensation is LACK OF WORK, and that income is only going to be about 50% of your greatest income in 3 of the last 5 quarters (check with your state). Yes, I certainly do believe each and every single one of them should be reported for this. Someone needs to put a stop to it!! However, you must consider that once you confront your employer about this, it will likely get you laid off. They really have no choice when you **go legal** on them. It happened to me. I figured it would, but I was so tired of clocking in and out, in and out, waiting for work from 6:30 in the morning until after 9 or 10 at night. Sometimes I still would not meet the minimum requirement. I refused to use my PTO. My income was sinking. After about 6 months, I said no more, give me work or let me go. I knew I had a much greater earning potential and they were going to continue to offshore more and more. When I told my supervisor I wanted a third party involvement I was laid off. What these companies are doing is truly a crime and thus gives them the name SWEAT SHOP. If you are in the position, please report them, even if you not work there anymore.
And then there's the waiting for work, sm
software installs, doing timesheet(s), checking old reports, etc.
I hope you're right. I've been waiting 4 wks for an ID - still waiting! nm
s
Agree. Waiting for work right now.

Me too....waiting on the work *sigh* (sm)
What is the deal, overhiring? I have only been there a few months, but geez! And I had heard really wonderful things about MDI-MD too before I started. I really like them so far, but wish the work load was heavier.
Tired of Waiting for work
Just want to vent here . . . .
I have worked for a IC for 5 years, over the summer the work dwindled down, keep getting promises of new accounts coming, still sitting here with no work. I am applying for the online jobs here every day. I have been doing MT for 13 years. I just get no response from any of the resumes I send. I'm going to have to get a job outside of home before my hubby kicks me out:( It just seems like nothing is ever going to come my way. I need a job!
Okay, vent over, thanks!
Yep, I got tired of waiting for work
and empty promises so I took on two jobs. Of course when they are both busy they want me to work extra. Tough. There was no work for me when I was trying to feed my family for weeks as I sat looking at a blank screen.
Also want to add, why should an MT stay at a co. that is always out of work. Sitting and waiting
:+
Anxiously waiting for work load to pick up -- LOW, low n/m

Question - if we stay plugged in waiting for work (sm)
and get none and then decide to make up the time/lines later in the day, how do you show your time card? Do you make in and outs on your time card (there aren't enough blocks some days). Would have to be careful or it could show up as OT couldn't it? If you do ins and outs with each job/no job then how do you keep track of the time it takes you to do this. Sometimes it takes longer to sign in and out than it does to type a job.
TIA
WAITING FOR WORK? POSTING ON JOB SEEKERS BOARD.sm
07/28/09 for new MTs, FT & PT, all shifts. Are they saying the accounts are UNDERSTAFFED?
Naturally, the new hirees will be gooing and gushing all over this board again about how GREAT their accounts are and how EASY their dictators are.
I JUST WONDER WHAT THIS LATEST, YET ANOTHER HIRING BLITZ IS GOING TO LEAD TO IN ANOTHER FEW WEEKS. Anyone care to predict? .
Still waiting for work, but I figured it out. WMX pays for holidays (sm)
but only IF you get your required lines/hours in. Of course the work was low over the weekend, but we expected that, and now EVERYONE is making sure they qualify for the holiday pay. Make sense?
Oh, I forgot to mention....must be flexible and have all day to devote to waiting for work.
The work fluctuates too much. Feast or famine there.
tired of companies overhiring and then sitting and waiting endlessly for work
The accomplishes nothing because then people get tired of not making any money and move on. Is there no solution to this?
I tried working for them part-time
I bought the foot pedal and software, but it took me over a month to make back the money I put out on the equipment because I never had any radiology work. Granted, my availablility was limited because I worked a regular full-time job and typed for SS after work, but I found it impossible to get the minimum 20 hours they required for part-time employment. I was sad to leave the 10 cpl though. Now I am working for Medquist full time and running out of work there too
Are you working full time?
MT that has been there 3 years, have you have full-time work the entire 3 years?
if you are working full time and your
MTSO says as of tomorrow we will call you when we need you, aren't you going to be just a wee bit concerned about how to earn next month's rent? (especially for the single moms like me out here). This hasn't happened to me personally, but to be told one is not a good enough MT (being demoted not only in amount of work but in cpl) is demoralizing and one would need time to rebound from that.
Now, if you want per diem knowing that your work is inferior and that is what you want to enter into and agree upon beforehand, that is different than what I was referring to above.
Thanks - Yes, I'm working with them as a part-time IC - NM

You obviously have the time or you wouldn't be here but would be working.
You found the time to post a rude followup when it wasn't needed at all.
And not many working full time
1
Maybe you should spend your time working instead
of wasting time on stuff that doesn't matter. Don't you have anything better to do with your time? You actually wasted time thinking this clever little thing up? Go find another job and quit trying to be an MT advocate. This is getting really old. Yawn! Not every company has cut wages in half, so quit using the company board to get back at the your sad company. Yawn again!
Thank you! I'm looking for part-time work to supplement my no-work full-time job.
because I love working part-time
and filling the remainder of my day with extra-curricular but I do not want to live extra-curricular
How do MTs get paid if it is not on time sheet. Are they just working to keep
p
Doing VR, working part time and making
at least $500 per week. That is for 4 day week.
Anyone else working Easter with NO extra pay??? Seems like a waste of my time.. but..
Oh well, that's the name of the game. I work weekends, evenings, and holidays with no incentive other than they realize people need to earn a living.. but I'm not bitter hahahaha
Newbie bud is working for them and she's lacking several payments right now. Time
s
I think if you are working remotely during a setup would be the only time they can "monitor"
your computer and then you know about it and invite them in and then disconnect it when done with that. Are you sure whoever is not meaning they can monitor when you are logged on or monitor your lines and work. I think most any platform allows the company to watch those things.
Is anyone currently working for SoftScript at the present time. MTs used to comment on
the sound with this company. Has this improved and what are they like to work for with their accounts. I know they are always hiring.
You earn PTO as soon as you are working full-time and reaching minimums.
You are also required to work one weekend a month, but you get two days off during the week leading into the weekend.
Give it some time. I think some people aren't working today and the ice
