I've been a Transcriptionist for 25 years, worked at home for 11 years and been an IC for 5 years. I love being IC. I work for a company that has completely flexible hours. They have a line requirement that is easily obtainable.
There are thousands of U.S. MTs working very hard. What you will find on this board are a few hundred, mostly disgruntled folks. Take all the negatives you read on this board with a grain of salt. It is not an easy profession, never has been even in the best of times. I've never had the problems with companies or not being able to find work that you read about here. I know some new MTs fresh out of school that have found decent jobs quickly. There are jobs available, you just need to find the right fit for you. Good luck!
