and yes, they regard the IC situation as if an employee. They do it, as they get away with it. As is said, people do IT (whatever that may be), because they CAN (meaning nobody stops them)
They dictate to the IC in contract form - the lines expected how long to accomplish this j, hours and days, etc.

I talked to them today. They want 3 years in a hospital or 5 years combination sm
hospital and at home or clinic and at home. For radiology, they want 3 years full time radiology. I thought they were very nice and I have a few friends that work for them and are happy. The pay seems average to high for what I am seeing now. I think they are 0.08 per line or 1.08 for radiology. Beats what I will have with the new MQ program.

I worked on site for many years. I've been doing this for 10 years... sm
I've worked on site, at home, for small MTSOs, for nationals, for hospitals. I've been paid per line, per minute, and per hour. I've been an MT and a QA. I have ALWAYS worked weekends and ALWAYS worked nights for the shift differential because MTs can't survive on 6 or 7 cents a line. At least I can't and I type 105 wpm.
I've BEEN dedicated from day 1, sister, so you are barking up the wrong tree.

I don't think so. My income increased every year also, until I reached age 50 and 30 years of MT'g, been downhill ever since.

my take on the e-mail
e-mail (free) blanketing anyone who gets on an MT mailing list looking for unskilled (low pay) workers to churn out poor quality work for big profits. Sounds right out of a get rich book to me. Standard operating procedure for most companies in transcription biz.

I understand what you mean and I would hate to have so many accounts. Things have definitely gone from bad to worse at OSi recently when I thought they couldn't. There has to be a better way for both of us.

Then they said it was lost, then they said I had the dates wrong on when they should pay, then it was if you don't get it by Friday, we will send it by UPS overnight, of course after the weekend had gone by and so on... At first, they bounced a check, by the time they made that good, the next check was due, and by the time they sent me another bogus check the third was due... and then I quit and the other one came due at that point... so here I am today with work done in July and they still have not paid me. They don't intend to either. For your sake, watch your back!

They told me I did not have enought experience and I have done orthopedics for 10 years. These agencies are getting ridiculous. No wonder they cannot find or keep quality MTs!!!
