I'm wondering the same thing...
lots of goodbye emails, dontcha think? I'm a little worried.
I was wondering the same thing.
Seemed strange that no name is attached. Fishy.
I was wondering the same thing when
you didn't say what company WAS giving you problems. Why leave people wondering?

That's why I was hoping that others would chime in. I don't know how folks who are the primary breadwinners in their home are able to make a living here. I'm sure that there must be some who are making good money; that's just the nature of the beast in the workplace -- diverse work experiences within the same organization. I know, though, of many who in terms of the compensation are really in the toilet right now just as I am.
I am wondering the same thing
Definitely not from the United States.
Wondering same thing....sm
Hired by them, though start date still several days in future.... From what I was told, editors listen to entire dictation for maximum quality assurance, as company has top quality reputation to uphold (whether MTs on 100% QA are in need of this? or whether ESLs are so heavily accented that it's required? not sure - but it is apparently done this way, which raises a few red flags for me, also, regarding the accounts and difficulty vs. pay per line ;). Thus, that minimum line requirement per hour for editors, as well as the MTs. I sure wouldn't mind being able to make a little more, though.
I was wondering the same thing!
Hmmm...inquiring minds want to know!
I was wondering the same thing also sm
but to say your employer has mental problems and she has to work at home BECAUSE she has kids. Kind of a spoiled selfish way of thinking. She should be glad she CAN work at home if she needs to especially if she lives in a rural area (I haven't figured that one out either).
Heaven forbid she would HAVE to work outside and take her kids to daycare or the babysitter! Poor thing she HAS to work at home because she has kids. Some people are just so entitled.
I was wondering the same thing
I sent my resume as soon as they posted the job ad but have heard nothing back at all.
I was wondering the same thing! As of last year, they

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing
..
and you all of a sudden..
Had the time to post something positive just because someone else did? Sorry, there's too many of us who you will not convince. Why don't you get back to being TOO BUSY WORKING?
all of a sudden wham
things will change
Why, though all of a sudden do these posts pop up?
I was thinking about it last night and since this is an anon board, I wonder if sometimes negative posts about companies which pop up out of nowhere come from other recruiters to cut down the competition of labor. Right now E-Trans Plus has a good deal, a good sign on bonus. After doing a lot of research I have heard nothing but positive. Now, suddenly these bad posts show up. Seems fishy, I think. It isn't like the other companies which have a stream of good/bad, etcetera. This is popping up out of nowhere, and it looks like I don't trust it. Therefore, I will remain confident in my research, and the fact that so far in the hiring process they have been nothing but open with me. It has also been obvious that if you do less lines, you get less pay, but that would be if you do not meet production. If you are not provided enough work, I would say you would communicate this with your supervisor before you got busted down on lines. Or if your lines seemed to be getting slow to type, and take too long you would address that too. This is why I tend to believe Amanda, because she has been consistent whereas these new posts seem to be coming out of nowhere. That is my 2c.
Exactly. Why the sudden push to VR?
Unless the company is in financial trouble. We never know because they never tell us anything. This is the only place we can ever find out information.
Whatever it is, I suspect it is time to move on...
All of a sudden I wish I was/were? older???
Too long to retirement, too old to go back to school.
Better dust off the exercise equipment and find a new husband
LOL ROFLOL
there was a post on them on this board, but all of a sudden ....
it has disappeared .... I have to choose my words carefully, but I think the Administrator took it off the board because they were posting a job on the company board. The administrator does not let companies that offshore post for jobs - AND I PRAISE THEM FOR THAT!!!!
lots of inquiries all of a sudden
Not much in archives, but you can check out the boards here page 2, 3 and 4. maybe emailing some of those that posted for further details. It has been noted that management likes to review the boards, so a little weary of leaving details on board - although page 3 is pretty interesting.
Do you work there? I am wondering because
I did and was treated terribly! I wondered the whole time I worked there why they got rave reviews. They were never even a halfway decent place to work.
I don't work for KS but was wondering (sm)
in the post below, why did no one tell the MT in the hiring process that they could not use ATT but had to have a digital phone service? Not trying to bash them, but have heard so many wonderful things, was just curious - has this happened before, or did this MT just fall through the cracks....Thank you.
Don't work there but was wondering the same
thing. WOuld you rather sit and watch the computer for jobs to pop in for 8 hours and do nothing??
Sudden change in 1099 status?
why would a company after YEARS of having IC's suddenly push everyone into an employee status? Does this have anything to do with trying to make the company less likely to be unionized??? Or is there something else entirely going on that Im missing all the way around?
Just wondering what they're like to work for.
Have you worked for them?
LTMT, just wondering if you still work for GBJ and
if not, why you left. Sounds like a good deal.
Just wondering if anyone is running out of work or ...s/m
Being switched around a lot. Great company, just very private about things. Getting frustrated with them.
Just wondering because work is low across the board again at Transtech
What co. are you considering now, if company was not TT? Just wondering.
Does anyone work at Acusis? Wondering how the atmosphere is there,
xxx
Just wondering - how many hours do you normally have to work to make your 500 lines? Thanks! NM

Just wondering if people are jumping in to work extra sm
since it is the last pay period before Christmas? Just a thought.
Dont count on it. We got transferred to Amherst and all of a sudden tons of backups on the accounts
and no work.
Well, just wondering if they are getting ready to sell out or merge with Spheris. I dont work for
them either but from what I have ready this is close to the way they operate.
Anyone work for Transcription Connection in Ohio? I worked there previously & am wondering
xxxxxxxxx
I am wondering if employees with Futurenet have a hard time having adequate work flow..sm
Just started there not too long ago, but now finding out I am running out of work frequently. I have several accounts that I can work on, but all are empty most of the time. Have they overhired or is this the normal?
No work here for 1 and 1/2 hours now. Bad thing is my PT gig also has no work.(sm)
I don't mind flexing to get my lines/hours in but when you are balancing more than 1 job it isn't easy. Tonight I am scheduled to work on my PT job so can't make up TT lines unless it is really late this evening and that just ain't gonna happen.
OK, another thing is, if the work is low, it will go SM
to the people who have been there longer. That's reality of this field. Goes on everywhere.
Work there also and the only thing I can say
is I am running out of work and I really do not like that. I think they leave you alone to do your work which I really love after being IMd to death at my previous place. I am very happy here- have also seen the many posts against them but I have worked there several years and never had a problem.
Same thing where I work and I love it
especially when it is a difficult dictator or a really fast talker. If I can't understand him/her I will pull up past reports by him/her and look for the same type of report. Helps out big time!!
the thing is, SOMEONE will work for that much, which is an insult to us all!

The important thing is not how many MTs are looking for work. sm
What will matter in the end is your skills. There are thousands of MTs in the country, but unfortunately only a small percentage of them are well trained. Not bragging, just a fact; I know a lot of MTs. If you know the second-edition BOS well (which many companies require), are meticulous in your work, great at researching terms, and are dependable, you can get a job. It helps if you have an extensive background in various areas of transcription.
Put your strongest assets forward in your resume, and keep plugging. There is ALWAYS a shortage of good MTs, even right now. An MTSO may overhire, but if he/she is wise, they will keep the good ones in the end.
It's a little more difficult to get a job right now, but still possible. One of the biggest points is your resume. Make sure it sells your strong points, but is brief enough to be read.
Good luck to you all, especially at the big company.
Transcription work is not a sure thing.
Physicians take vacations. Physicians leave the practice. Clients switch companies. You cannot expect an MTSO to always have work when this is not the sort of business that you can promise anything.
This profession is sort of like take it when you get it and not when it's convenient. Whether you have your own accounts or work for a company, this still holds true.
There are times when I see no end, and then there are times when I can take a deep breath and a break. It's just the nature of the business.
Same thing here with the co. I work for..free time is
ok sometimes but I really want to work!
I was a little troubled by that e-mail, too. The funny thing is, I work
an IC job that supplements my pay, and I got a call just Monday because I had not met my producton goal there. Apparently another vice president decided to earn a check this week...LOL.
No matter how much they jump up and down, you cannot transcribe what is not there. I was more than happy to remind that individual I do not get paid unless I work, so not meeting goal is probably MORE critical to me.
I thought by busting my tush on 2 jobs I would be guaranteed never to run out of work, but both failed me this past holiday. For all the gymnastics, I will be working all weekend this weekend just to have a decent paycheck. Sigh.
I used to work for a defunct GA MTSO that did the same thing. I always went straight to the bank and
The other thing to watch out for these companies who constantly bounce checks is that there may be other illegal stuff going on behind the scenes, such as not paying appropriate employee withholding taxes or health insurance premiums. My old MTSO never did send my Social Security contributions to the Feds for over a year. It's part of why I stay with the big nationals. They have their problems but I know my paycheck is always okay.
She does not work from her living room. Why would assume such a thing? Why would it matter to you
do not post things that you have no idea about. If you have a problem with KS or any company, why not ignore it and move on? Why does it concern you?
The setting your own schedule thing varies. For example, physicians who work in the ER may be
independent contractors, rather than employees, if they are moonlighting on weekends or whatever. But notice they are told what hours to work... There's no way to keep a transcription service alive with people working whatever hours they feel like whenever they feel like. That's just not reasonable.
The thing is, if we just "suck it up" and send the work offshore to lower sm
the rates, there will be no work for U.S. MT's. There are plenty of hospitals and doctors that do not want their work offshore to keep us all in shoes.
Just be honest. Put down the shift you're looking for, what type of work, that sort of thing.
Be reasonable in the line rate, or I use "negotiable". Let them know if you're looking for a large or small company to work for.
You aer required to work 3 holidays each year ... not sure about the quitting early thing. nm
