I agree with the other poster. Futurenet is great! They are very respectable. A lot of working is going to SR now though. That is the only downfall I have for them. But they work with you on everything! If they offered benefits, which they don't, I don't think anyone could beat them whatsoever. Pay is ontime EVERY time! Excellent staff! I have been there for a little over 2 years and have thought about going other places ONLY for benefit purposes but I just can't! They are too good to leave! I will be with them as long as they will allow me to. Couldn't picture myself working for anyone else!

I worked for them for two weeks
They advertised they had ASR and that is what I wanted to do. They do not give you ASR. They new that is what I wanted to do and they gave me an account WITHOUT any ASR. They also have different systems for different accounts, i.e. dictaphone for one account, something completely different for another. You have to download it to your personal computer, they do not have any to send you. Also they foot pedals did not work. I think what was worse for me is they claim to be based in the United States but the only people I talked to were all Middle Eastern. Their tech people, supervisors, etc. I even heard their QA were based in India. (the ones that QA our work). I did not have a good experience with them at all.
I worked there for about 6 weeks and
also left. You cut and paste from the demographics into the report itself. I left because I could not get 8 hrs a day in through the week, required to work a weekend day, and then would either run out or have no work, so never got 40 hours in.

After two weeks, the work got slow and it took forever to find out what was going on. They had lost the account but wouldn't tell me. They offered me something else but it was garbage and I wouldn't take it. Nice people, but nice doesn't bring in a paycheck.
I worked for them last fall for a few weeks, pay was
9.5 cpl, but always ran out of work and still after 6 weeks they never got around to giving me a second account, even though they said they would. Left after that.
A couple of weeks ago I worked
for Landmark for just a few hours. On interview I was asked if I was familiar with a certain platform and said I was not. I was asked if I was willing to learn. I was more than happy to do that. After all, that gives you more employment possibilities in the future.
Got set up, and was basically just told to do the work. I thought learning a platform meant there would be some training, at least a sheet of paper with some instructions. I received zip even with asking. I emailed the trainer 3 times which I guess was her limit because she only answered the first 2. I waited 24 hours for a reply. With none, I quit.
I earned a little over $40. From what others are saying, I guess that is money I will never see.

I just could not make their minimum and found platform to be cumbersome - but it may have just been me.

I've worked for Ubiqus for 2 years now and I get paid every two weeks.
I really enjoy the work because it's advisory board meetings, round table discussions, and big conferences of all fields of medicine. I started with them right after I graduated and I've never done any of the doctor dictation, I like this work better.

Yes, I have backup accounts. Yes, they are out of work, too. So how many backups should I get and how many account specifics do I have to keep straight to make minimum wage here? I understand summer slump, but this is bad, really, really bad!!!!

No work for weeks, no work to make up, have 4 accounts. Simple truth this company overhires and now I am stuck! Unfortunately, I will have to move on.....Hey, I have an idea - Why not hire some more!
There is no way I would work for anyone who did not pay me. If I get paid every 2 weeks, then..
the first time my check is more than a couple days late, they can forget it. You can bet they are getting paid by their clients. Who do they think does the work. The MTs should be paid above all else. I would give them a date that they had to "overnight" by check by or I'd file a company with a labor board, BBB, anyone who will listen. These companies get away with it because no one stands up for themselves. I do the work that is asked of me and I expect to be paid one time. No one should except any less than that. Good luck to you and nail them right where they stand on this one!!

several of us will probably get warnings for not making line count this pay period. What amazes me is that they've got an ad out today. Makes me wonder if things are going to get worse before they get better.

Yes, they offer I think 4 weeks at full pay or 8 weeks at half pay. Call the office
and talk to them about it. You wont lose your job. They aren't like that.

After seeing some of these posts, reading through many ads, and speaking with recruiters, and being knee deep in seeing some of the "mishandled, misappropriated, misguided, hypocritical, and profound blatant mistakes on reports, that are missed by QA, and mostly by some of these same Transcriptionist themselves, who are masticating
I have been with MQ Amherst now for 3 weeks and have continually run out of work. I know this has
been hashed out on here many times but my question is does anyone expect this problem to ever get resolved or should we simply expect to keep running out of work at Amherst forever. I know when they call me about the new pay plan and tell me it is incentive based I plan to tell them they better make sure we have work or their plan is a joke. What can I expect with this office and what can be done to correct it. I dont plan to have to work 8 accounts to get my lines in and have them QA me on accounts I have never done besides. If this problem is long standing and unlikely to be resolved it is time to either get out of that office or get out of MQ so I would like some good ideas and comments on this. We know it exists but what is the next step.
Why is OSi hiring new people when I have been out of work for 6 weeks?
I am statutory (or IC, whatever they are calling it now). I have a main account and 2 -- count them 2 -- back up accounts. I have been out/short of work for over 6 weeks.
Unless you are a full time employee, you get no benefits, no hourly, NOTHING. I am amazed that they are hiring when they have people already trained and begging for work!!!
Don't they realize that it costs a WHOLE lot more in turnover to train a new employee than to keep an already-trained one happy?
I'm looking at other nationals now. I've never been one to job hop, but I just can't take the time off any more!!!

You may be asked to invest in expensive equipment, likely to run out of work regularly and not have your calls returned when you try to contact them. They do pay well but the work is NOT there more than it is, so great pay doesn't mean much. They sell it to you great but they don't deliver.

vaction - quite a sweet deal ... while the rest of us are struggling with monumentous premiums (financing a newbie's love/sex life not my idea of fair play). Many of us haven't gotten a single day of PTO, (thanks to the line requirement to meet when there is no/low work) and most of have been here much longer than 4 months.

I encountered slow to no work the weeks preceding Thanksgiving and several days after but the past
few days it has picked up. Can I ask which account/accounts your on? I think that makes a difference. Mine are part f the Escription platform. I honestly got really ticked a few weeks ago when we had no work and they were still hiring. For one, it's bad enough when we have to share some of our work with the Indians, but how fair it is to hire these poor people who think they are getting work where there is none. It makes no sense to me either. Why not provide work to your current employees than drive them away by taking on too many new people.

I've not been through a summer with them before. My main account, which always had plenty of work and occasional overtime, has been low for well over a month now. I have 2 backup accounts that are low as well. In fact, all my STM's accounts are very low volume. In all the years I've transcribed, I've never had this problem in August. It worries me more perhaps since I'm ex-MQ and consistent low work was a signal of a major downhill turn for that company. Thanks.

Let me try to explain this as best I can. As an IC, you work when you want. That works well, except the company you work for needs the work done now; so they may tend to over-hire and the other issue being an IC, is that work tends to dry up over the summer and over holidays. That's a fact of life.
Many MT's who work as IC's, have more than one job.
Honestly, I have nothing to do with MDI and I work as an employee, because I need benefits and I need work.
Please look at all your options.

So I don't know if the company I work for is necessarily better, but I love it. And, yes, there is loads of work and has been for the year that I have been employed there.

Do you work on TWS3.8? I have worked SM
for Spheris for several years. My macroes were imported, so that was nice, but from what I can tell, they use Shorthand. Several MT companies have been bought out and they may have used different software programs.
Anyone worked/work for Beyond Words?
I searched multiple boards and have come up empty. Any information would be helpful.
