I work at Webmedx. The slow issues are being worked on. SM

they have the best QA department, the best benefits out there (and affordable), the best bosses. I know the slow issues are a pain but they will be fixed by the solution center. They have fixed many things in the past.

Been there since 10/2007. There are still slow issues. I do not think they are that flexible..sm
I've been MT for > 10 years. They are better than the evil Q, for whom I worked for 8 years, but I am sure there are better companies out there. The acct specs are no problem, but the platform definitely still is. I have cable Comcast, so slowness issues are not on my end. IT works with it, but not well; there are issues. They will not give me time off--less than a week--to accompany my sister when she picks up the baby she is adopting because I have been there less than a year...Email me if you have specific questions. I would say think carefully before accepting their offer. Make sure you tell the recruiter if you think you will need ANY time off in the next year or you may not get it. I did not think to mention last October that I would need time off this May. Mistake.
I worked part-time for Webmedx and I work FT for TransTech. sm

My vote would be for TransTech, although Webmedx is not bad.  Since I was only part-time, I did not receive any benefits, but from what I recall, they did seem to have a nice benefit package.  My main complaint was that I just never could get my lines per hour up to where they have been at other companies.  Normally, I average around 300 lines per hour, but even with totally focusing and typing as fast as I could, I never could get past 250-260 lines per hour at Webmedx.  Their incentive pay is based on lines per hour that you type, not total lines per pay period, so it did make a difference in my pay.  I also did not like the fact that I had to use their computer.  I like using my own computer, and also like the flexibility of being able to load the program on my laptop so if I have to be away from home, I can still work if I need to.

I have seen negative posts about TT, but I have no complaints with them.  My line counts are fair.  The people in management are absolutely some of the most caring people I have ever met.  The work generally is plentiful, and I have a backup account.  The incentive tiers are easy to attain, and the benefits are pretty good, I think, and not outlandishly priced.

Obviously, not every company is a good fit for everyone.  I hope you find just exactly what is best for you -- good luck!

I do at webmedx now that the platform slowness issues are resolved. nm
.
Depends on the account. Work on VR lately has been slow. Just like all companies, we have slow times

Honestly though, I have only had 2-3 times in the past 2 years where it was like the other day...no work... It did pick up later but I just think it's important not to make someone think we're overloaded with work all the time. That would not be fair to them if they end up with high expectations.

True. Most have less issues than the Q, though. I worked there 10 years before switching.
Webmedx definitely beats them. You can trust management at any of these larger places anymore.
Webmedx isn't slow - lots of OT posted and they are pushing sm
to hire a lot of MTs due to new accounts coming on in the next few months.
TT needs to work on some communication issues before
nm
I have no sound issues, plenty of work...
Not sure what platform you are on, but I am on 2 of the Dictaphone accounts and there is so much work not sure how we are going to get it all done. My team leader is good and the company has some of the best benefits of any place I have worked, and believe me I have worked for a lot of companies. I am sure it is not a fit for all, but what MT company is.
Staff is great-no work and too many platform issues.
nm
I worked for Webmedx
I enjoyed working for them part-time in addition working full-time for the Q. I learned their platform fairly quickly. I think they have a lot of ESL docs, at least the majority of mine were. After working for the Q for 9 years, on the same account for about 5 of those, it was a very pleasant challenge actually. I quit after 3 months, it just got too much working 61 hours a week at my age. They had a QA program, sounds similar to what the Q is using now, though I'm still transcribing in MTS, so I know absolutely nothing about Doc Q Scribe or whatever everyone else is using.

I would work there again.
Anyone here worked for both MQ and WebmedX?
How do the 2 companies compare?  I am increasingly unhappy with MQ, looking for something better, just wondering if there are any ex-MQ people who have gone to this company and if they are any better.  I am happy with MQ pay and benefits but disgusted with the lack of flexibility (at least in my region) since the new *cough*reward plan*cough* and looking for something with more flexible hours and hopefully benefits close to what I already have.  Have heard mention of a 12-hour window for Webmedx and something like that would be great.  I am willing to work a schedule, but would like to work with people who actually care that I have a life beyond work and that sometimes things come up that you can't plan for 6 weeks in advance.  What kind of production incentives do they offer?  I am a high producer, over 15 years experience, near perfect quality, would love to find something that rewarded that.  Any advice? Thanks!
I have worked for KS and Webmedx.

KS starts at 8 cpl for 60 or 90 days, can't remember, then can get raise up to 9.5 cpl after that based on performance.  Many different platforms, lots of C-phone accounts (so may need unlimited long distance), LOTS of work, good benefits, but I opted out of insurance and not sure what rates are.  I rarely get QA feedback even when I ask for it, so that area needs improvement.

Webmedx has a platform that depending on how your ISP routes their servers can make it very hard to get your lines in.  The system also has lots of kinks, freezes up, you lose reports, etc.  Some days things go smoothly, other days it seems like every 2 reports you have a problem.  They are constantly working on issues, but despite their promises of improvements I never saw any when I was there.  You have to clock in and out, which unless you can keep your butt glued to the chair for long stretches is a PITA.  Pay is a can be a little bit better than KS and they have incentive tiers, but due to the issues above it is all you can do to make minimum 150 lph some days, so you can't count on the incentives.  Also, they have severe work flow issues.  Some accounts have OT almost all the time, other accounts have so little work that you can work 12+ hours a day and only get in a couple of hours of work.  The PTO isn't great, insurance fair.  Again, I didn't get insurance but seems like family premium was between $350-400/mo for medical only.  Deductible about $2000 if I remember correctly.  Webmedex provides computer.  They recently bought out TransHealth and I saw an ad thi week that you can use your own computer with TransHealth.  I guess they are going to operate separately for now it seems.  I rarely got QA feedback even when I had blanks, reports seeming to be sent in without corrections.

I don't know much about Axotol, though know someone who left Webmedex due to lack of work and went to them and is very happy there and has lots of work also.

Based on my experience I WOULD NOT recommend Webmedex.  I've only been at KS a few weeks.  Things aren't going as smoothly as I would like, but there is a ton of work.

I have 4 accounts, doing all work types, and I usually have enough work but this is the slow time of
year so we are scrambling a little for lines.  Easy platform, paychecks DD, always on time.
Worked for both Webmedx and Transtech sm
Webmedx really has a nice benefits package and shift differential working third shift 2.00 an hour from 12 a to 6 a and 1.00 an hourfrom 6p to 12 a. the platform really is slow though, some have problems and some don't, depends on CPU processing speed and internet connection. I had 5 megabyte speed so did not notice much issues except when they were low on work. But in order to qualify for bonus you have to average 150 LPH for the payperiod.

Transtech has good bonuses, has different options for benefits, and pay up to 40.00 for you ISP depending on what you pay per month, has a QA bonus for reports less than 10% sent to QA, shift differential--- these are 0.0025 to 0.005 per line depending 2nd or 3rd shift. I think the platform is much faster. You are working with Word interface ExText. You can see 3 jobs at a time, Webmedx you can't.

Webmedx has a timeclock and Transtech has a timesheet but are more for lines per day and pay period then actual lines per hour. Transtech expects you to work your full shift though regardless if you reach your lines in half the time.

Hope that helps. I liked Webmedx benefits package, but I liked working with less pressure for lines produced per hour. I feel my reports have better quality that way.
How long have you worked for Webmedx?

yes, but I was told as an IC that if work was slow ICs get no work since they are nto employees
nm
Having worked for Spheris before, I'd vote for Webmedx.
I tried to get on with them, but I was working three part-time IC jobs at the time so I couldn't get their test files completed on time.  I got maybe two hours of sleep three nights in a row because I had so much work dumped on me.  Blown chance!  I wish I'd blown off the IC jobs and finished the test instead.  The test reports were easy enough for me to do.  I asked for an extension on the test due date, but never heard back from them.  I understand their need for TAT, but they have to realize that it's tough to squeeze testing into an already overloaded schedule.  I'd much rather work one steady job than three IC contracts.
I have worked at Webmedx for 5 years now. The platform sm
issues are continually being worked on. I think the platform is slow when work gets low. Very flexible place to work. You get 12 hours to do your 7 or 8 hour day (35 hr/week is full time with benefits). I like the ShortHand and the platform, very user friendly, very, very simple to learn. The accounts I do are high ESL but that's fine by me. I have an ear for them, so not too much of a problem. My boss is wonderful, the QA folks are very helpful, and tech services can't be better, in my opinion. Hope this helps.
Webmedx hands down. Worked for the MQ for 10 years...sm
Everyone requires 98% on QA. I've been at Webmedx for about a year now and had worked for FutureNet inthe interim. I loved the people at FN. No one loves the people at MQ--new owners. Webmedx is better overall. Although no place is great anymore. Picky? Strange question.
I've worked for many nationals i.e. Webmedx, MDI-FL, Transcend, etc. and
I like Medquist the best.
Webmedx does but it is based on hours worked, not lines. nm
.
You must be slow, so VR will work for you.
Personally, I could not live on 13.50 an hour, or 12 an hour or some other equally low rate of pay. That is not even typing 200 lines an hour, and if you are so experienced, you certainly did not work on your speed skills. Your editing speed is just as slow, obviously.

VR will only help people like you who are very slow at transcribing. It is not going to help those who work much faster.

IBM selectric? I knew people who could transcribe 2000 lines a day on those things. Think what they did when computers came in.

Your post is confusing to me. Yes, I use an expander and a computer, and I get paid for my work because I did the input. I am also going to have to do the input for VR but that will pay half of what I make now. Forget it, sista, I am not an idiot. And I have yet to see an ADT feed that worked without glitches.

Like I said, you sit under your mushroom, let the owner and management make money off you while you sit there and work for a rate of pay that won't allow you to buy peanuts or popcorn cuz those are luxury items on your rate of pay.

slow work
I know three gals in the same boat. Love the company... hope I don't have to find a new one!
slow work
Is this usual. Wondering if to start looking again.
slow work
Is this usual? Wondering if to start looking if it does not pick up.
Slow work
Same here, only out of work a couple of times since I starte for TT in August.  By far, I am much happier with them than my previous employer.
Work slow!!!!
Is anyone else having a hard time with work right now.  The company I work for is sooo slow I am bearly getting 350 lines a day!  I think they may have overhired back when they were swamped in Sep.  Not sure if I should look somewhere else or try and stick it out.  Any suggestions?
Believe it here, work has been very slow
Again, I ask what accounts/types you are on that you have so much work, because my accounts have had little to no work at all for weeks now, and one has been slow for months.  I would be willing to move to one of these busy accounts that are always being spoken of, but don't know what to ask for because nobody will actually name these very busy accounts.  Thanks!
work slow down
Is anyone having problems with work slowdown with Imagestat?
Work is slow and sm
while I am not having a problem, many are.  It is only employee status, generally only full time and you will have to work a weekend day, we all do.  They offer nice insurance and it is not too expensive, but you have to maintain at least 11,000 lines AND 80 hours every 2 weeks to keep it.  Some of us are struggling, though I know I am not. I will tell you that folks who work 2nd or 3rd shift have plenty of work.

All in all, it is an excellent company with wonderful people.  I don't want to work for anyone else, EVER.
Work slow down
My supervisor assured me this happens at this time of year and I tend to agree, and she is really good about letting me make up time.  I do wonder about how many folks they hire, but I know we are going to get more customers.  I have asked to be considered for those accounts.
Work has been slow lately, but...
I was able to take on more secondaries and that did help the situation, so still able to make my lines.  They're a pretty decent company, probably the best I have worked for in about 10 years.  My main complaint is no salary increase after several years of working there, as if the economy hasn't changed dramatically in the last few years.  MTSOs just aren't keeping up with today's economic demands and they most certainly do not pay according to experience (are there any companies even hiring at 10+ c/l anymore?  If you know of any, please let me know).  Let's face it, VR is a joke and only created for their benefit, not ours.  They created it to avoid having to give out real raises.  By the time you finish formatting/editing these stupid VR reports, you might as well have typed it.  It makes me often contemplate jumping ship but there's really not a whole lot out there these days to move on to when no one is willing to pay based on how much experience you have.
I don't think so. Work is really slow right now. You can
apply through the website and someone will contact you if they are hiring.  No new accounts on the horizon that I am aware of.
My company lost the account I had worked on for 5 years. Webmedx got the
account so I followed it.   I have interviewed with about a dozen companies the last year and out of all of them the only ones I considered were Keystrokes and Webmedx.
Have to punch a clock at Webmedx too. I even worked briefly for a place sm

that had a little popup window come up when you had been gone too long and you had to fill in the reason why you were gone.  A little bit too Big Brother for me.

If a company does not make overtime mandatory, and I simply want to make some extra money and get some more lines in, I ought to be able to do so without the company being forced to pay me time and a half.  Sometimes we shoot ourselves in the foot demanding this and demanding that, and soon we end up with less than we had before ....but that is just my opinion.

I work for MDI-FL and the account I am on has been slow *sm*
for over a month.  I will not make enough this past pay period to cover the cost of long distance and my Internet connection.  I know they have other accounts that are behind that you can work on but I personally feel the account I am working on is so slow because they overhired on it.  Why did they not put those extra people on one of the accounts that is consistently backed up?  I am in the process of testing for employment elsewhere.  Other than this recent issue with no work/overhiring, I have always been happy with MDI.  I will be sorry to leave but I am sure that the others working on the account will be happy to see me go as it will be one less person taking their lines.
Lately work has been slow on Mondays, because there has been

OT the last several weeks so numbers are low to start with and lately there have been some kinks with the downloads from the accounts, but when work comes in there is a bunch.  Usually by Wednesday at the lastest there is plenty of work and by Thursday they are offering OT on acute care accounts and there is enough work to work 24/7 if you wanted to.

I have been pretty good about sticking to my schedule, have been late a couple of times by under 15 minutes and I really expected someone to say something to me based on past posts, but so far it hasn't been an issue.

It really is a good place to work.  There are a few sour pusses and I don't discount their experience because I've had a few bumps along the way, but there have been posts from people who were let go because they weren't making their line requirements (per them) and they still have nice things to say about the company.

Not at all. It tends to be a slow season but I have plenty of work.
..
Actually there was a slow period, but LOTS of work now - nm
x
Ask them to try you on dial-up. It may be slow but if it is stable, it should work. sm
I do know that there are a few versions of Meditech, Chartscript and ExText that do not work with dial-up, but that still leaves a lot of options open! Good luck to you!
Not out of work here...it was a slow start yesterday
but it picked up in the afternoon and evening.
Transcend advertising for help and slow work for you.
They will help you to find an account to keep your fingers flying. I would just hazard a guess that you might have to ask for an account on another platform but your team lead is the one to help you. They are the ones to rattle the cages.
Work is generally slow all around. Easter
is early, plus spring break in lots of places.   I've been on OT for the last 2-3 weeks and ran out of work yesterday and probably will today too.  Enjoy it while you can.
Knowing that the only time work is slow is during
is wonderful and I will flex my schedule any time to keep my job at Transtech.
No - it is not always slow! Depends on the company and hospital. I have never been slow this time
Slow time is usually in September when everyone is back to work/school from the summer months.

Been doing this 24 years and never slow this time of year. Actually, I am drowning in work - can't keep up.
I think work is typically slow this time of year sm
and I am surmising they are not wanting a backlog to build because a lot of MTs are also taking time off for the holidays leaving a skeleton crew on some accounts. I am sure it will all be busier than ever in a week or so.  I have been able to get my line counts and then some everyday so far.  Everywhere I have ever worked gets a little slow towards the holidays.
Slow start yesterday - out of work for about 1 hour -

Slow time of year = no work. Basically the same. If

There's a difference between over hiring and the occasional work slow down. sm
Every company has some times that are busier than others. That doesn't make the recruiter a liar.
Not for people on my team. Slow work for months. nm
