Can you tell me how many hours a part time person is allowed to work. Does it specify that at all.
I didnt quite understand that 8, 16 and 24 hour thing. I thought part time as long as you cut off before the full time hours you can work them.
I used to work for them part-time -- I think 20 hours/week is the minimum. nm

Any companies with part-time clinic work/daytime hours? Thanks!! nm
nm
Why would they give you a choice of 16 or 24 hours. Usually part time is anything under 37 hours.
That is extremely odd. Well they must have something up their sleeves. Well I will be working elsewhere part time as well as with MQ as I have no intention of sitting 40 hours with no work from Amherst and be expected to have 150 lph with no work. What is all this window of work time they said they would be giving everyone. I figured all along they would do away with SE. I have already been looking around and ordered a new computer to send theirs back.
Current Amphion employee...I'm very happy. The part of Amphion I work with has no faxes, lists,s
minor demographic work..superb QA and feedback. Fellow MTs on same account are more than willing to help and now they also have mentor program. My pay is what they said. They do have different pay for different levels.
Full time/part time based on # hours or
# lines per pay period, nothing to do with quality. The lower the quality the higher the pay it seems.
Full time is 40 hours, and yes they have part-time.

do you know what part-time hours are
I mean what is the minimum - I need a part time to go along with my full time and may even switch completely after I get up to speed. I am good, been doing this quite a while. Would work evenings and probably one weekend day. TIA
No PTO for part-time. Not sure if you can work part-time or not since recent rule change. sm
You do pay a deposit for their equipment.
I just joined Amphion. It's only part-time for now, but
I did this to save my sanity and to make a little extra money. It seems to have the best press. If they are as good as they seem to be, I'll be thrilled to join on full time.
I am curious about that Bayshore software at MDI-MD, tho!
Are there any companies besides Amphion that hire part-time
I need a company that allows you to make your lines without demanding that you be on from this second to that second. If it's part-time it's obviously because you have other things to do and your life doesn't revolve around a set schedule. If I can get my work done at 3AM so why would that bother anybody?
Is there a company that doesn't mind when you work as long as you meet your quota and are accurate?
Are most part-time jobs with companies a few hours every day or are there
jobs that exist where you can work a few days during the week? If you can help, thank you!
FutureNet part time - how many hours required? (sm)
I understand they have a high percentage of ESL, willing to do that for flexibility and less than 20 hours per week PT. I would love just 8-10. Anyone know if it is worthwhile contacting Futurenet or know any others that hire limited hours PT?
Anybody hiring for part-time ER within a window instead of set hours? TIA. NM

Does anyone know the minimum lines required part time for Amphion? Thanks. nm
n
Amphion hires part-time - they're very strict schedule-wise though
Since part time is so hard to find these days your options are limited, so if you don't mind working for a company that is a stickler for strict schedule adherence, I say try Amphion.
Can anyone tell me the required amount of hours/lines for part time per week for Focus? nm
nm
Now you can not make your lines in 9 hours! More time for 2nd Job.

the day has 24 hours, I work only 6-8 hours, so, lots of time to post...nm

How long before they make you part-time?
I have had a terrible couple of months. The first time I didn't make my line counts a person from HR emailed me and suggested that I type a bit faster. Gee....why hadn't I thought of that?
I make 4 cents a line, work part and make
over $500 a week on part.
Why are you working 60 hours, when you can work 40 at Amphion?
Just curious as to why you would continue to work 60 hours a week, if you can work 40 hours at Amphion and make more money? Why have you not gone full time with Amphion? Again, just curious. I do not want to start anything.
not to mention, this feels like a push to make this just a part-time
job because it seems to be happening already. My partner drives a school bus and they do that to the drivers, they only allow them to work so-many hours a week, with absolutely NO benefits, other than the few the union has gotten them, and the bit higher pay scale. My partner also has had the union fight for his job many times especially when new managers would come in and right away want to 'clean house', get rid of the higher paid, senior drivers. It costs him 37 dollars a month though for 10 months and that is a drag too but in the long run, he does have some protection and the union is only as strong as its members. they are also in bed with management most of the time but these managers are usually nasty, aggressive, and would rather just hire their friends and family, and that is one thing I appreciate the union for, if nothing else...
you have to have an advocate - someone has to have our best interest in mind if we are ever to keep our jobs...
I am part and I do work specific hours and
unless we have tornado warnings, lightning and such, I am usually at my desk working away. I really hate to see someone ask about trying to find a company to fit in with their schedules. Most companies do not try, never have and probably never will, to fit in with our schedules. I feel the person writing such is very naïve and has not been in the work force very long.
I'm lookin for part-time work (about 3-4 hrs daily) after 13 years of full-time, anyone know of a
company that is hiring flexible part-time? I'm starting a career in real estate but don't want to totally quit transcription, but I think most places require 25 hours a week and I cant work weekends, as real estate sales are the biggest on the weekend with open houses and people off work to shows homes to. If you know of a place I'd sure appreciate the info. Thanks!
i work 3 part-time jobs now. it can be confusing if you are learning both at the same time, but sm
other than that not a problem for me. best to get one down before starting to other or you might become overwhelmed.
Thank you! I'm looking for part-time work to supplement my no-work full-time job.
You are an IC - they can't make you work all those hours unless you want to. sm
I'd just tell them that I was cutting back to X number of hours per day.
Last year $36K part time, going to make more this year full time BUT sm
I AGREE it IS getting harder to make money. I used to make $24 very part time 10 years ago and now...well it is Word and platforms versus WP5.1. I got 7.5 cents a byte line then and I get 9.5 cents a character line now. That IS a huge different in point of fact.
OH I WANT MY WORDPERFECT 5.1 BACK!!!!! Bwaaah!
I work 1 job, about 36 hours/week and make at
least that amount, plus have vacation and PTO, also an employee so they pay taxes. I found that working multiple account keep me from making money because I have to learn so many doctors and be aware of the different formats/platforms and account specific stuff. I used to work a bunch of jobs part-time and was working 7 days a week and lots and lots of hours and not making very much money. If I worked the same hours on one account I could have easily made $80,000+/year.
They no longer hire part-time and may be eliminating part-time employees within the next 6 months.
They are going to have those that are PT go FT if possible. Some accounts require 1 weekend day, but not all. Most transcriptionists have 1 account with 1 back-up account. I know that they are hiring for hospital accounts in medical records and radiology right now.
Part-time MT getting full-time work ??????
TransTech should not be giving out work to PT people on their DAY OFF, or any other time BEFORE a full-time MT has enough work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amphion doesn't make you work weekends
or nights. They're a great company, and I hear they're hiring.
Just wondering - how many hours do you normally have to work to make your 500 lines? Thanks! NM
NM
Not so easy when you make top pay and work days and hours of
xx
I've been able to make my hours. No, you do not lose insurance if work should run out. nm
nm
And expect to work long hours but somehow you only make peanuts.
I suspect that they must not pay for spaces, headers, etc.. as you can work all day and somehow you barely have any lines. I smell a rat.. very suspicious to me that you could work so hard and it just never adds up.
When you run out of work doyou have to make up lines/hours to keep bennies? (nm)
,
Part-time and still never enough work. nm

WANT PART TIME PRN WORK
Transcribing litigation part-time, looking for prn medical transcription with work available at 6:30 a.m. Eastern time.
Part-time work
Medquist allows part-time transcription in which 4000 lines have to be done in a pay period and the payperiod goes from the 1st to the 15th and 16th to the 31st.
PART TIME WORK
Could anyong give me the name of companies that hire part time, provide equipment, and still use dial up? Thanks
Looking for part-time IC work..
Are there any companies out there that have part-time work available and will just leave you alone and let you do the work? I produce client-ready material and really need very little attention :) I already work as an employee with one company and an IC with another. I'm starting to feel uneasy with my current IC position and am just hoping that there is a company out there that will allow me to do the work without feeling the need to micromanage?
Part-time ER work?
Hoping someone can help me out. I work full-time already in acute care and would like to find a flexible part-time job. Benefits aren't important to me since my full-time job takes care of that, so a great line rate is mainly what I'm looking for. I have 5 years of acute care experience, and am mainly wanting ER work for a part-time job.
Any suggestions?
How is JLG to work for part time ?
I may be going with them and would like any input, good or bad, on how the company is to work for. I'll only be part time but it's important that I have enough work so I can pay the wonderful creditors that I owe my life to. TIA
part time work
I picked up some part time work by calling some of the smaller local companies. They often pay better than the large cos and you can almost ways be an IC with them and work very flexible hours. Just a thought!
Why is that? I only work part-time, but think sm
it is a great company. The owner is wonderful, QA is great, and pay has not only been on time but has been early.
Low work and looking for part-time
I know how you feel. I am now looking for part-time work.
Can you work part-time for TTS?

PART-TIME WORK
I'm been reading through all the companies out there hiring, including the company I work for now, which is unbeliveable.. I'm looking for part-time work to supplement my work with the company I work for now. The work is starting to slow down for us so I wanted to find something part-time. Can anyone suggest a good company to work for? Thanks !
part-time work
I am not sure of your background or experience, but I just started a part-time position with Phoenix Medcom and they are very nice. They do have part-time positions and you are told right up front what you can expect with regards to line count, etc. Everyone is extremely nice, helpful, and organized. I have local accounts and so far this is exactly the supplemental work I was hoping to find.
