Is there any way that you can make a requirement that MTSO's who post on the job board list the name of their company.
I have responded to some of the anonymous posts by sending my resume and never ever hear a word back. It makes me uneasy because my address and phone number is on my resume.
After giving this some thought, why would a legitimate company post anonymously. On all other sites, companies who post jobs must list the company name.
Please consider making this a requirement.

What does a little hand pointing in front of a post mean? I am searching for a post of mine that looks as if it has been deleted. While searching I came across a reply of mine to a post, and there is this hand in front of it, and you cannot open my reply. I feel as if I am being boycotted or something - - LOL! Seriously, what is going on?

It's great you removed the post, but I didn't get to see it. Wondering if it wouldn't be fair to name the company so those of us who didn't see it will know what type of company we are dealing with if/when they repost an ad?
You could leave the ad and the company up as an example of how to get your ad deleted... what *not* to post.

I just thought I would let you and others know about a job that is posted on the job board. It was a ACUTE CARE MTS/EDITOR position that offer hourly wages. To me this sounds like a BIG SCAM. They send you an email stating that they are delighted to offer you a transcription position within a certain hourly range but then as you read further it states Please remit $25.00 for your independent contractor background check. We accept credit cards, debit cards, money orders, money grams and cashier checks as a form of payment.
Please note: We do not accept personal check. They go by the company name of Telecommuting Personnel Job Services or TPJS, Inc.
The ad never had the companies name in it as well.
I would think that if a company wants to hire you and do a background check that they would pay for it!
Do you think this sounds like a SCAM??

Job listings are written by the companies posting the listing. We do not define how they make their own listings.
If you feel uncomfortable sending a resume to an unidentified company, then you should not. Perhaps an e-mail to them asking for identification first.

They told the board administrator that they didn't
offshore, when there was proof that they did. Whether or not they posted the other stuff I don't know, but they lied and got caught at it and if that doesn't make them look bad, considering how sensitive an issue offshoring is, I don't know what will. They probably didn't think they would get caught.

Actually, I did pass it.
And if you read my entire post, I mentioned the need for continuing ed credits, which I would only need if I PASSED THE TEST.
At a certain point, either you know this job or you don't. So someone with TONS (20+ years) of experience does not necessarily do a better job than someone with 6 years' worth.

The software doesnt keep accurate track of your time or lines. I even kept a log, didnt matter. I accrued time off that I was not given or paid for when I left. You can check the archives for many of the same types of issues and stories.

One of the lowest paying around for employee, not much better for IC. Not reliable for steady work either.

I just seem to always be missing a little pocket change to take it.
Oh, really now, I'll be honest. It's never been the highest priority to me because (a) my employer doesn't care, has never cared, and won't give me more money for having one, (b) When I have that much money at any one time, it usually goes to buy back to school clothes or an appliance breaks down and has to be replaced.
I personally know quite a few CMTs and admire them for their dedication to keeping it current. I have always thought it rather telling, though, that most of the AAMT members and CMTs of my acquaintance are childless.
The fact of the matter is, many MTs are mothers. And mothers usually put themselves last. Right or wrong, that's a fact.

I believe she was right when she said this is across the board, no matter where you work. The health care crisis in this country is just that - a crisis. I will stay here and pay the increased premium as from talking to people who work in different occupations as well as MT, they are all complaining about increases.

I'd Pass On Transolutions...
if I were you. I believe they base your pay rate per line on how well your score on the test you take when you go to their site. Whatever level you fall into based upon your test scores is what you will get paid. Say you got a low to average score on your test, you would probably fall into pay level I and get paid 5 or 6 cents a line or something like that, and $10 an hour for 1-2 months of training. They're basically just like every other company out there offering transcriptionists the oppportunity to work at home crappy pay, not the best dictators, and of course, if you run out of work, you never get paid for downtime. You are also REQUIRED to work two holidays and weekends.
Pass on the job. I am thinking it is a co I used
to work for and they never paid on time even with that long wait and did not get it right either. No excuse for a wait like that except for mismanagement by the company. Pass on that job. You will have headaches you don't need.
