I wanted to tell person who contacted me via email

In Reply to: My VR pays at - VR person
that I absolutely do nothing to achieve more lines (money) than just keeping (as much as possible) the audio at fast a speed as I can and also I use my mouse when working. Supposedly you are supposed to be able to edit faster using combination keys but I did not learn, did not care to learn and mostly can keep up with the dictation (either VR or straight) as it goes so I just do not think I could make more even using the combo keys. I also do not give out where I work because to do so would probably be a swamping of the company and I would prefer to keep my job to myself as long as I could.

There WAS one person here who would call you and ask if you wanted the job for that day or the next.

I just wanted to let you know that I did reply to their email.
I basically said that I found it very unprofessional to not even put the name of the company in the email. I also told them that 6.5 cpl is a very low rate and I could not live on that and feed my child. I told them that with the amount of experience I have, that was an insult. I also let them have it about not paying for spaces. I was professional in my email, but I believe I made them understand that they are barking up the wrong tree and that their payment practices are an insult to all MTs.
I think you are right. If she truly wanted to thank Mary, a private email would be sm
more appropriate. As for enlightening us, what did she share other than they are nice and organized? Woohoo ... that won't butter my bread. Nothing about pay, which they are appaerntly is so pathetically low, they are too embarrassed to admit to on here.
No thanks. As the saying goes, I just got rid of my cow, so I don't need your bull.

Wrong. The person who was fired this week was from Keystrokes. I just got an email
from someone asking if was me posting here tonight, so I came to look. I agree with a lot that the poster has to say but I post my name when I post. Anyone who knows me or of me knows this. I do not have to post behind anonymous names nor do I.
I do disagree with some of what this poster says though and will take a moment to tell her/him something: You chose to run a service and knew or should have known what you were getting into. If you are doing all that, you should either hire more people or hire different people. The best move I ever made as a service owner was learning to delegate and hiring the right people including Human Resources, Accounting, Operations, QA, Recruiting and IS. (The second best move I ever made was to stop letting the posts on the MTStars and others affect me). Best advice I could give a service owner is to cough up the money for a good staff; it is worth it in the long wrong although hard in the short term.
While not everyone agrees with me or likes me or wants to work with Keystrokes, I do not feel a need to hide behind the anonymous nature of these boards and would rather have people know where I stand than wonder.
You would also know that I value our transcriptionists and know that as a company, Keystrokes constantly tries to improve. If you know me at all or anything about Keystrokes, you would also know that our rates are going up not down and we do not undercut prices to beat our competitors.
If anyone has anything to say to me directly, please use my email. I do not visit here often anymore and do not plan on starting again as it gets a bit addicting :)
Not on ER here, another acct. Got an email by mistake a few days ago with an Indian person in the

To the person who sent me the anonymous, rude email. FYI: I AM an MT and I post answers here to di
a true response is given, not supposition and rumor. I do not know why you find it take and ignorant (your words) that I answered that Keystrokes does not and will not send work overseas, but as an MT, that was very important for me to know and part of the decision I made to go to Keystrokes in the first place.
I will not be intimidated by anonymous emails and certainly will continue to post answers with facts when asked.
This board is for everyone in transcription, not just those who think they can control the threads, and I for one like to hear from others in the industry with different viewpoints.
It should not reflect poorly on KS as you said; quite the opposite, I will only post facts and as offshore is an important topic. If your opinion is different than mine, that is your choice, but to send a rude email anonymously with a threatening tone was obviously meant to intimidate me.
Person from corporate contacting me via email regarding my posting today
I have no reason to meet with you, have a good job and certainly do not care to discuss with you where you send your work. I know what I read and it was quoted by a top official at your company. Even though you said the newspaper slanted the story like they wanted it to read, I saw quotes and never saw where the paper did a retracation of the story.
I think it is one person. I had a few print outs from a few weeks ago and this person even capital
I have had a positive one. I have been with Keystrokes for 3 months and am very happy.
I printed them to show my manager but she told me that there are few bitter people out there and no one can do anything about them. My manager said that everyone can tell that it is the same few over and over again, for Keystrokes and a few other companies as well. Time to move on Ms. Anon. I cannot think why a company would go through the trouble of getting IDs and getting you installed just to ignore you after that. Doesn't make sense, does it? Are you sure that't the whole truth? You keep saying truth but it sounds fishy.
Exactly what I'm talking about RUDE! You are a very unhappy person. A happy person does not
respond in such a way! This is the reason SS has such a bad name.
Thank you! Just wanted I wanted to hear!
nm.
I am not a hateful person but that person screamed at me for 45 minutes. sm
She said all transcriptionists are idiots.
Have they contacted you?
I sent a resume late last week but haven't heard anything.
Have already contacted her and IRS
As there was never ANY pay at all, but recieved 1099 showing there was.
They contacted me too, but sm
They all ended up with companies that are where Diskriter was 3 years ago, going through a complete management revamp and all only offered IC status at a lower rate than I am making employee status with DR, all of them required the same scheduling, although I think Diskriter is pretty darned flexible, never been told no or had a problem if I needed to switch days, leave early, etc. All of these past employees who were at DR are now at other companies. One of them got DR into the huge mess they were in to begin with . They have all said they'll hire me any day, no interview, no questions asked, but what they have offered preliminarily without my application was worse than where I'm at for line rates now. If you search the archives on the companies their with now, the responses from MTs there will say nothing better or worse than you see with DR, it is all a matter of OPINION again and to each his own.
If you are an MT looking into DR, go with your gut, if you feel like they might be right for you -forget the pre-employment requirements and background checks as an excuse to not apply, that is a pretty silly reason not to apply or accept a job, only desperate companies hire just by looking at a resume and not doing any background or physicals. DR is not a desperate company - we are all very qualified MTs who pick up the slack when needed until we get new people that are just as qualified.
They contacted me
within about a week, but I applied at the end of July after the **** hit the fan at the Q, probably before a lot of other MTs. They were just starting some new accounts and the timing was perfect. I know they were swamped with apps in August, but if you have not heard anything after a week, I would contact them.
They have contacted me.....
They have contacted me and I was already hired by them a few months ago. They are asking me to retest with them. Not so sure if I want to go through everything again. It may not be worth the time since I did not have a good experience the first time. They want to get me on the payroll and start training me tomorrow.
They contacted you first and then did this?
I guess they have plenty of time and money to waste. Makes you wonder if they had someone there with an axe to grind against you. It's possible that person saw your name and decided to use a loophole to not hire you, but its still a rotten thing to do anytime, much less during the holiday season.
Good luck and hopefully other companies will treat you fairly.
I contacted them..
I contacted K&R to ask them to verify the security officer's name. I haven't heard anything. The other very weird thing is that their website does NOT have their address unless I missed it. I had to Google the company and get the address that way.
It's just a weird set up. I think I may back out as well.
Have they contacted you? sm
I've heard not one word from them or anyone else I've applied too. I'm getting so sick of it. Even a get lost email would be better than nothing! Ugh...
I contacted them, but the pay was way too low.

THEY HIRED ME AND NEVER CONTACTED
I have been waiting and waiting and they have my contract and all the paperwork and they are nowhere to be found. Anyone else have this experience?
I think it was 2 days before they contacted me. I
turned it down before they offshore.
I was contacted the day after I submitted...sm
my resume by one recruiter with a couple of questions about my experience with ESLs and operative reports, then received another e-mail from a different recruiter the following day to schedule the formal interview.
Sounds to me like she HAS contacted the-sm
ones that they have chosen for the positions, and that she was just letting the others know that the choice has been made, probably so there will not be any more discussion of her not responding quickly enough, on this board. jmo
Thanks, she contacted me and guess what...
She is going on a short cruise and will get back to me when she returns about the position. I think not.
Yes, I contacted HR, this is not an issue
with my paperwork. It is that they have not sent my contributions to MetLife - not one cent all year, and I am having 10% withheld. That is a lot of money the company has been using. Almost seems like stealing, doesn't it?
Florida - I'm being contacted by them
via email and not even sure how they found me. I've never applied to them. I'm currently an IC but now I'm curious about them.
Same here. I emailed them once, but they never contacted me. nm

Has anyone been contacted back sm
by Lee Pefect after passing test since recent ad?
Thanks so much!
I contacted them with 20 and got no reply.
They probably hired all newbies at that rate. I wouldn't worry too much about it. What sounds too good to be true usually is, but I was curious as well.
I contacted everybody and was totally ignored!
That tells you how much our so-called govenrment of the people, for the people is working nowadays. Lately, the slogan is Of the rich, for the rich, and to heck with the middle class....take their money and run before they get wise.
They don't give %$%#@% about us. All they care about is how much money they're getting from big business and the rich.
They have contacted me 3 times about
working for them, but I have turned them down so I don't know much about them. They have several different platforms that they work with, most at internet-based where you type real-time into the cyst. I have 20 years of experience in acute care and I think they offered me 8 cpl.
recruiter contacted me next day sm
You will get an email that says congratulations you passed, so on and so forth
I applied to the last ad, was contacted by their
recruiter and asked about my availability for an interview. I responded saying I was basically available anytime and never heard another word. I again forwarded them my resume with a note regarding my availability and still nothing, yet there is a new ad. I am not sure what to make of it.
Oh they realize, and they were the first ones I contacted
XX
I applied, they contacted and....
I passed, because the pay was just way too low for me. STarting out at 6 cents per line. It's tiered, but just was terrible pay.
have you contacted the insurer?
contact the insurance company.
They contacted me several MONTHS later.
x
I contacted them directly and they
told me they were NOT hiring..... Makes me sad :(
Have you contacted the office?
They have always been very good at finding new accounts for MTs who are low on work. My account is quite busy, but I'm not sure about other ones. It could just be the time of year. I have been with KS for 3 years now and have never been completely out of work. Yes, there have been slow times, which is normal and to be expected, but I have never been totally without work.
I was contacted one time by who
I thought was a lady trying to get her foot in the door. She asked me to look over her report & give her pointers, etc., which I did & tried to be encouraging. Then the next email from 'her' was an email from some company/guy in India saying basically if you think that report was good, then subcontract us some of your work.... You really never know who you're actually talking to.
the woman contacted me last year to see if I was -
interested in training for this. It is quite expensive, but yet seemed legitimate. At the time I was already overwhelmed with my own work and accounts and just never got into it. Basically scoping is just learning how to read a stenographer's notes and then you would "transcribe" them. My understanding is that stenographers differ from each other with the way they take "notes" so you would have to adjust to each stenographer.
But some stenographers/court reporters will dictate their notes onto a tape and send them to someone to transcribe.
They contacted me, I think from a resume I had posted
on the job boards. I took the written test and aced it and they sent me the voice files to transcribe. The voice files were of poor quality I decided not to do the testing. I was contacted after the written test and told to contact them again after the transcription part. I never contacted them and they never contacted me again. The woman I dealt with was a bit ditsy.
We did not get into any of the details such as pay, so I'm not any help there.
I took your advice to the OP and contacted them today. sm
I will be starting next Monday. I am going to be starting on 2nd shift with the understanding that they will give me dibs on new accounts for first shift. Whoo Hooo!!!
They had the best accounts I have found. I have contacted them sm
and will be starting back in a week. I am so excited!! I made a mistake in leaving but it was more for sanity sake (I needed to get out of the house as it was not a good situation at home for a while) and it served its purpose. Now that I am going back to KS, I feel relieved.
When seeing the posts, we contacted the service
owner and conducted negotiations in a professional manner so the matter could be resolved.
They contacted me last week and said it would take about 2 weeks.
That's strange because I tested and was contacted right away
I work there now and I think it's a great company. I guess everyone can have different experiences, and the post below certainly was not my experience. I didn't have a problem with the testing and they contacted me right away afterwards and offered me a position. I have had a lot of support from staff and they are always flexible when you need to adjust your workload, vacation, etc. I actually would highly recommend them. Try contacting them again, it couldn't hurt!
I have been contacted by a trainer in the US already. Still unsure about this.
They said they would overnight the pedal. Still unsure if I should change jobs. Yikes! If anybody could suggest a safer bet that would be appreciated too. Thanks for your feedback!
i hope u are the one that contacted me earlier
if not, plz reply to me by sending an email.
