I used to mix it up

I've been on both sides of the fence, the hospital MT/transcription manager and the contract/outside MT. When working in the hospitals, I often got to know the MTs who were doing our outsourced work (through phone conversations while making arrangments, etc.) and saw them as people trying to get by, same as the hospital MTs. I would not send them all junk. I'd mix it up with some good stuff just because, honestly, I wouldn't do that to ANY MT. I always thought it a bit mean when my co-workers would send them nothing but horrible stuff that I knew some poor person was going to work all night for next-to-nothing per hour; at least we got our hourly wage. You may disagree, but I just could not get myself to do that to another person. My director would not do it, either.
I do not know what area you are in, but the hospital MTs in my area are now making as much or more than outsourced MTs, get a whole lot more time off, work part-time with benefits, etc. and aren't working nonstop on all crap-work to make it then pretending like they didn't. The tides have turned.
