if they have taken the deductions out, don't panic. With the holidays and the way they fell this year with Thanksgiving and Christmas so close, a lot of companies were closed a lot. My SIL works for MetLife and they were closed all but 2 days each week between holiday parties and actual holidays, so perhaps that is what the holdup is. The insurance card is important but you are covered without it if you have been paying!

MTSO can say need coverage for Dr X, do you want

Never worked for that place, but sounds like old MTSO

Those mag cards!
Forgot about them. Those sucker were huge!
Another thing, I told my daughter about what my doc said this morning and guess what she told me? She said when she goes to her doc she is given a laptop and has to fill out her own record. She said it takes just about forever, which is probably what is going to happen with a lot of the EMRS. Can you just imagine the mistakes that can produce. She said then the doctor just reads the computer and doesn't ask any questions. I never................ Is this what health care is going to come to? Next we'll probably have the computer making the diagnosis and prescribing treatment and never even see a physician.
I received the e-cards as well - sm
I'll bet we have the same liason! I really like her and thought it was very thoughtful of her to take the time to do this.
Transcend does more than Thank you cards...
We get it - you are unhappy. I love the company and many others do. There are a lot of companies out there. Why do you stay?
cards are cheap... and so is the thought.

Have gotten cards from them svl times over the years. nm

I work for MQ and have never gotten a x-mas bonus, only cards. sm
Not even from the company they acquired 8 years ago.
I really doubt a company this big can give x-mas bonuses. With over 6,000 employees that is a lot of money to fork over. Plus with Philips Electronics wanting out of MQ, do not think even higher ups will get bonuses this year.
My company sent us E-CARDS this year. sm
They were too cheap to spring for a an actual paper holiday card with postage.
A freaking email card. Yeah, no gift card attached to that baby, either.
Ah, yesssss. Cards. I usually toss em right away,
I do hang onto the blank envelopes to use for sending things like homemade get-well cards, thank-you cards, etc. to friend. And my kittens are having a ball with the box the now-shattered coffee mug came in. It's all good. Almost.
Also Christmas cards, etc., should have been taken care of way before the accts
xxxxx
One gave small gift cards ($25). Another...
sent homemade cookies/candy. Another one, nothing. Current one sends out a big gift box of various stuff. Actual signifant cash money? Never for me.
Do they owe us anything? No. I don't think so.
Maybe we'll get Ramadan cards next year.

Spheris --sending out recruitment post cards?
Any one else get these things? Don't they offshore? I could have swore I saw some things on here about them running out of work.
Just wondering
Did you ever get anything? I'm perplexed why some people got just cards, some got card and gift c
and some of us nothing. I can't imagine they forgot some people but it's starting to look that way. Oh well, at least we have work.
I so totally relate! I go back to the days of mag-cards,
I took a Wang course at the local Jr. College because my boss said they were getting one. Suffered through a year of typical school garbage: a semester of 'The History of Word Processing'; a semester of classroom work for Wang information; then another semester of lab -- made all the more exasperating because the PC I'd been assigned to kept breaking down on my lab nights. Ah, yes. The good old days.
But at least back then, a person could rent an apartment and fill their refrigerator on what we were paid. Remember that? Nowadays it's nothing but a distant memory...............
Not me. I hope there is a special place reserved for them in a very hot place.

Yes I did. I thought it was an oversight on their part to not send cards, guess not.

Transcend is playing games, giving gift cards
and doing contests (poetry) and others. There is a contest for a big screen TV.
Transcend cares about its employees
Last year, from Keystrokes we got Blockbuster gift cards for Christmas and for MT week sm
we got candles and candy. I always get a birthday card too, which is very nice.
Nothing from Transcend, although I heard others got gift cards or at least a card. I've worked th
several years so if it was just a case of being forgotten that is still pretty pathetic. How do you forget your employees, especially when you get junk bulk mail from there regarding nothing that involves you..but at Christmas you were forgotten. Oh well, I have work and for that I am grateful so I'll be nice...
when docs give mtso a check, then mtso pays you?
nm
Merry Christmas to you too! I think it is great that Transcend sends out gift cards to employees.
I wonder how many other companies do that. Let's see, with over 1000 transcriptionists that is 25,000.
Again, thank you Transcend!
Isn't she an MTSO owner - which MTSO ? Just curious. n/mnn

Xmas coming. New company, thinking about sending Xmas cards. (sm)
Thought about just sending one to the office in general, is this tacky? I actually am in contact with some of them more than my direct supervisor.
How do you all handle this, if you send cards at all, that is. This is a fairly small, very family oriented type company. If I were still with MQ you can bet I wouldn't even though my supervisors over the years did always send out a card to me on Xmas. I just never felt very festive when I was working there.
MAYBE they only need coverage
during those times. They might have other employees/ICs that cover other times so they only need them then. If you don't want to work then, then don't work there. As an IC you do not have the right to jump in whenever. You only have the right to say I will work xx to xx; or say no, I will not work xx to xx.
They do not pay anything on family coverage, IMO. That is why I would rather be an IC and buy
my own policy versus being an employee of a service. When you think about it, being an employee for most of the services out there offers no real benefits at all. I have found that the PTO that some of these companies offer as part of their benefits package is a crappy. You basically get paid a base hourly rate for any PTO you take and that base rate never EVER equals what you actually make when typing. So you are basically penalized for taking time off.
And health insurance benefit packages are a joke! They pay nothing for family coverage and not to mention there is always the threat looming over your head that if your production falls, they can take your benefits away.
If I were you, I would either be an IC and buy your own policy or try to get on with a hospital that offers work at home MT jobs. Hospitals are the only places that offer decent health insurance coverage for families. I have my own accounts and bought a health insurance policy for my kids and I, but recently I took a job with a hospital just for the insurance. So now I have my own accounts plus I work FT for a hospital from home. I pay $175 a month for family coverage with a $1000 family deductible. It was financially a smarter move for me to go to work as an employee with the hospital because I'm saving a bundle on insurance.
Again, let me say, I would NEVER go back to work as an employee for a service. They don't offer anything that I would consider benefits. You're better off buying your own policy.
Family coverage
is about $217 per pay period. I think you have to get this one if you have more than one child.
I have the individual coverage
and it's about $17 per week. United Healthcare, good plan. 250 deductable. I wish I could help you more but I know my regular doctor is on the plan so I am quite happy with the coverage. Hope that helps.
I pay $202 per month for just me. The coverage is sm
OK, not bad actually. I don't go to the doctor often though.
Yes they have family coverage
but I do not need that right now. I have a schedule but they are flexible hours so that really helps. Pay does include all spaces, but what I like is the direct deposit and the steady work. I have been with Medware for 2 years and always have work. If my primary is out they give you a back up account. Finally my income meets my needs and I can move ahead with some things around the house that needed fixing. Plus it's nice knowing I have good health insurance.
We apparently don't have the same coverage
I have been charged the deductible for office visits, which was a surprise to me when it happened. Also, many medications are $50 per co-payment.
If you are healthy and don't need it, I guess it's good insurance. If you use it, you pay a LOT out of pocket and now it will be worse.
WMX has best overall family coverage
I absolutely agree 1000%!!! It has great benefits.
Vacation Coverage - IC
I work as an IC also, and I'm taking a few days off in just a few weeks. I let them know a month ahead of time. I'm the only one working for this company (very small) and she won't hire anyone else, so they know what they're in for when I'm gone. I don't know what they're going to do because they always had another girl for back up. The only bad thing I'll have more work than I can handle when I come back. I'm not sure how other companies handle the situation.
What kind of coverage?
Is that pretty good coverage or a big deductible?
That is for family coverage.
Maybe there are people that might have had a different experience, but just giving my opinion. I have also heard their platform sucks before from other people.
I did not take the insurance coverage - already had it. nm
x
True. They may only need coverage for
certain times, therefore those are the times they hire the ICs for.
I had to drop my coverage -
I could not afford to pay the premiums as I had no work. I was basically working just to pay that.
Also, since they paid on a tier plan, I went from making over 11 cpl to making 6 CPL at the same time. That is why they do not mind overhiring - they get the same work done for much less money, so that means more money in their pockets.
I have it 2. Pay about $50 for full family coverage.
Yep, all maintenance is paid 100% - major stuff pays very well, too. I really like it, and have had it for years and years. Nothing exciting, but good basic dental coverage. I like the $1000 a year per kid for braces! Sure helps with 3 in them!! I think its just the normal probationary period til it starts - 3 months? Honestly don't remember reading anything about waiting a year for braces though.
That's not bad for single, but I really need family coverage.
Anyone know what these companies preminums are like for family coverage.. Thanks.
Single coverage at TH for medical is $52 a mo and add in sm
vision and dental takes it up to around $70, which is the most reasonable I have seen.
Coverage through my DH company for 2 adults and
2 kids is $280.00/mo for medical only, additional $$ for dental, vision, and life insurance for other members besides DH. Not sure how much company pays, but not much.
Starbucks has the best health coverage -

question about IC and vacation coverage pls sm
I was under the impression that as an IC I am not responsible for finding vacation or sick coverage for accounts; that would be up to the company I am contracted with (no written contract, just verbal but don't flame me it's worked for 4 years now). What do other ICs do when they want to take time off (a foreign concept, I know I know)? Do you find your own coverage or let the company who has the accounts handle it? This company has flip flopped so much - at one time we had to have our own coverage, another time we got major slapped for doing so as the accounts were theirs and they would handle coverage, and now seems to be swinging back to find your own or don't take vacay. TIA.
Probably pay 50% of single coverage and you pay the difference.
xx
I have individual coverage and I pay less than $100 per month. They pay
the rest. I think it's definitely more for family coverage and I am not really sure what those rates are. I would just call and ask them. They're really nice and helpful.
Did MDI-FL ever change their insurance coverage? SM
I was told by the owner several months ago that she was looking for a cheaper policy for their medical coverage.
Webmedx does. Great coverage. nm
.
it is major medical coverage at best
affordable maybe
Best selection, rates, & coverage
