I tried the email again and it didn't work, so

I'll just post it here. Maybe if you email me it might be easier.
Hi Fatcat,
I'm trying this email again and hope that it gets to you. I'm an IC at MDI too and I have 2 accounts that both have no work today. I've been considering taking on another job part-time, but most of the ads are for full-time or for ICs where they set a schedule for you.
I just wanted to ask you if you know of companies that will hire ICs part-time and allow for a flexible schedule? Also, how do you juggle the second IC position when most require a Saturday or Sunday and that's when most of the MDI work comes in? I'm so afraid of taking on a second job and then finding I'm over my head.

Didn't get an email, and they
Meanwhile, it is time to submit a timesheet and I have no idea where to send it or how to set it up. I think I have been plenty patient.
I didn't get that email. n/m

The trainer didn't email you?
My trainer sent me an email letting me know that my computer would be arriving and to confirm when my training would start.
In the email, she gave me my user ID and password to log onto the computer. This is so I could set it up and make sure the internet was working properly before calling the specified number.
Maybe they don't do that with everyone? I don't know.
Interesting, my email didn't say anything about . .
the date the contract expired, just that it was prior to acquisition (which would not be 18 months), and did not use the term half of their business, was worded differently.
Didn't you get the email explaining this
situation? To me the email was made it very clear about the error...I realize that change can make a person panic but I think TT MTs are safe, the company followed up very quickly on the matter and seem to have it under control. Relax
I didn't see any email, yesterday?
x
Didn't get your email - Unless you weren't talking to me.
In that case, nevermind :)
Didn't you just LOVE the latest TT email?
Congratulating us for getting all the work caught up last night and pointing out we weren't EVEN OFFERED A BONUS. Nice. Yes, those of us at TT are so desparate for work that when it finally shows up, we don't need a bonus to work our fingers to the bone and those in Management crow about it.
Made me throw up a bit in my mouth.
Feel lucky you didn't get a rejection email. I have over 16 years experience
and this is the first test, since the very beginning of my career, that I have not passed. I am stunned. I'm not perfect by any means, but this is the first real rejection. I understood it early in my career, but after all this time, and working the past five years doing acute care for a couple of nationals, I get turned out by this company because I failed the test and they do not even tell you which part. I needed this job, but I guess it's back to the drawing board.
Didn't that TransTech email about them going to Vegas and us POOR MT's paying for that trip ju
rub us struggling MT's when she sent out that email to us. She didn't say how many went to LV -- just bye . . . we're off!
Enjoy the light of the Dictaphone flashlight begging for a job for you, while we enjoy the lights of Vegas !
YUK ! Totally irritated this TT MT. Sickening, in fact.
Anyone work for Breitner. They keep sending me an email to work for them. What
do you know about this company at present.
OSi didn't work out for me...lack of work sm
I worked there for about 3 months last year, and even though I was on 3 different accounts, I was continually running out of work. They wanted me to flex to meet their schedule needs (working on my days off and late at night), but do to having small children, and having to have a babysitter when I am working, I need a set scheduled, and they just couldn't handle that. I also thought they micromanaged. I like to be left alone to do work. I ended up slinking back to the Q after 3 months was up.
Didn't work for me
Not a great experience for me. I felt they did not have a clue as to what an MT was/did, espected way too much, way too soon. Training period of a few hours, then expected to make line count within 1 to 2 weeks on brand new account that no one had done yet - actually expecting a brand new employee to implement the account (huge) and make 1200 lines a day at the same time! I had 25 years' experience at the time and lasted there a very short time as I am older but wiser now!
Didn't work well enough for me.
When pressing the foot pedal, sometimes it would do nothing or would hesitate before hearing any dictation. I found this unacceptable and a pain in the butt. I don't think Vonage is allowing MTs anymore. At least, that's what I last heard.
didn't work for me
disorganized, wouldn't know QA if it bit 'em, lots of files to download and cross reference, have to wait 6-8 weeks for first check, lots of phone calls (interruptions)....
Job didn't work out
Personally, I think it is the company that should feel bad. What did you do to make you feel bad when the company turns out not to be the same as they seemed to be in the sales pitch? If you showed up on the first day of this job and couldn't transcribe, do you think they would hesitate to let you go?
What we need in our industry is more courageous folks who will stand up for themselves and not take any @#$%#@#$ from these companies that basically lie to get you to work for them. They are taking advantage of us and it is only because we are letting them get away with it. I know, cause I've been there. I stuck it out with one awful company for 6 months. After that, there have been some that I've rejected before we got past the contract. There were at least 3 that I quit after less than a week. Same story. The job was totally different than it was supposed to be, according to the description of the recruiter.
Don't sweat it. Just tell them goodbye, it didn't work out.
Didn't work for me...
I tried working for them, but they told me I could not work a flexible schedule, no matter that I would get my required amount of hours...when I say flexible I mean I need to work off and on with no set scheduled times to work. They were always calling me wondering why I wasn't working...this was the pits.
I tried this, but it didn't work. Thanks. nm

LOL, you must be one who didn't do their work
As stated many times, if you work your schedule, meet your line counts and produce quality documents, you will do just fine.
If you cannot produce quality documents, if you do not want to work the schedule you set and if you cannot produce the minimum line count which you were aware of when you were hired, (1200 lines), then don't come to Axolotl.
Axolotl is not the place for MTs who do their own thing. If you are disciplined, want to make good money and have good benefits, then it might be the place for you.
did that, didn't work either

you WISH you didn't have to work sm
from home---have kids???? How about be thankful you CAN work from home if you need to work from home.
If you are only doing this because you have kids you are probably in the wrong profession. you are saying your employer has serious mental problems.......you are working and you get a check correct? You work from home and don't have to face this person correct?
Sounds to me like he isn't the only one who has some problems!
it's been done - didn't work out well. n/m
.
I thought you didn't work for MQ????????
MQ is not for the transcriptionist.
MQ is for the company.
Okay - that didn't work. Try mditrans.com

If they didn't want weekend work,
I would have taken the job. But who wants weekends? That stinks.
well, I didn't work between the holidays at all....
so I don't know about that time period, but I didn't have any work at all on Tuesday, 1/3,
Didn't work for Shapin......
*
Okay - I probably didn't work long enough to get used to it. nm
xxx
I would much rather do volunteer work, if I didn't have
to work. There are so many places that need volunteers!
Last I checked I didn't need gas to get to work
On my accounts everyone knows my name, I don't usually have reason to call the office. If I have problems I talk with my team leader or the regional manager, which is what I suggest you do. Why is it hard for people to voice their concerns to the company or people in charge of their specific accounts?? If you have no work then ask for more accounts.
didn't work - already tried that yesterday.
x
They didn't even have enough work to train me
.
Because I worked for MQ and didn't have work
x
I worked for KS and though I didn't work on the
account I experienced the same situation with them. It doesn't matter what the account was.
I wouldn't work here if I didn't already
Spheris has terrible insurance, inadequate supervisors, and sends all the good accounts to India. If you want crappy accounts and a supervisor that never answers your emails, and don't need insurance, then you might like it here. Speech rec is the norm here now, with very regular transcription which is usually the doctors that can't speak clear enough to do speech rec. I'm still making enough money to survive, and don't want the stress of changing jobs to an unknown situtation or I would be out of here. I doubt they are offering new hires the rate I make, and what I make is not all that great.
Can you email me and tell me where you work?
Anyone work for HDS? Email me.
nm
I currently work there. You can email sm
me if you'd like.
psharman@clarks.net
Please tell me where you work here or email me
thank you
Please email me where you work at
I have not been with OSi for long and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt after reading the things said about them but when I got the email I was very surprised and this just makes me want to find another job where this type of stuff doesn't happen. I find it hard to believe that OSI would promote someone fresh out of the mentor program to a management position but I read the email with my own eyes.
email me if you want - i currently work there. sm
i found them good to work for. i am assigned work daily from same acct, but not necessarily in a pool. mostly same dictators.
I work for them currently. You may email
me with any questions.
It's exactly like the email from where I work
So no, there's nothing confidential or sensitive in this post at all.
I didn't ask for your wages. I asked for help and if I'd have to work
and I didn't really think it would be like pulling teeth because MOST people at Transcend are willing to help when you ask WITHOUT the attitude. But if you post on the forum like you do here, it's obvious who you are.
Didn't your outside job with the big bucks work out? We were hoping for ya..nm
a
Friend ran out of work too often and didn't stay. Pay was 8 cpl as an IC. nm
s
boy i'd never work for a company that didn't pay for training
-- that ought to be illegal -- as long as you are working, ie, training, you should be paid!
I didn't work there way back in 2005, so
I can't comment on your personal experience, but for me in 2008:
1. If you run out of work, you are paid downtime. You can do backup acounts also. Not sure about the written consent but there are a lot of us who work on other accounts.
2. Sample reports: The program allows you to bring up previously typed reports by experienced MTs by doctor, patient, report type, etc., so the MT has endless samples.
3. Supervisor currently, from what I can tell anyhow, has a lot of contact with hosital including informing them of problem dictators and other issues that directly impact the MT's production, etc.
4. I think they changed the insurance to cover out-of-area employees, but don't quote me on that.
Personally I've had a very good experience with the FL account. Nothing is perfect, but I'm very satisfied.
I didn't work on gov't account but not paid either
Five months and counting now. Lies told to me were, pay you when I get paid, pay you next week, pay you Saturday. Still no check though.
I didn't complain, but got something from both the places I work sm
My PT job gave me a $30 gift card to target. My FT gave me $25 AMEX gift check. Both were sent in Christmas cards and both cards had been signed by everyone in the office.
No...not lots, but then I don't need lots. I really loved that ANYTHING was sent and the signed cards were a very nice touch.
I didn't get paid, but work as been so low, my check won't be much anyway. :( nm
