I tried....

I did the cold calling thing...calling clinics and hospital at random...and I must say that did not work well for me!   You are basically telemarketing and a lot of people are not interested in anyone selling something.  As it is said below....if a clinic or hospital already has a company, they are unlikey to go elsewhere.  You could try scouting for new placing going up or being built....?  Sorry not much help, I am looking myself and its tough. 

PS:  I have that book The Independent Medical Transcriptionist .   Its good but dated.
