it's ok I guess. The only thing I don't like is the formatting rules. They train you one way and then you get emails telling you you're doing it wrong by others so that's a little confusing for me right now. The platform isn't that bad but it's nothing fancy either. I'm going to give it a full 90 days before I make a real decision if this is the company for me or not.

I just started at MDI a month ago
and my supervisor suggested to me that I start out about 300-400 lpd and then gradually increase by 50 lines every other day. I guess it depends on your supervisor, but I would think they would allow this company-wide. In my short experience, MDI has been a wonderful company to work for.
You might want to make note that if you haven't gone Flex with MQ yet, you won't be able to do so until the 16th of the following month. It doesn't take effect immediately. The minimum for MQ Flex is 2000 lines per week, so over the course of 5 days that's only 400 lpd = 2 hours per day at the most with the Q. That shouldn't be too hard for you to manage while doing 700 lpd with MDI.
As for how long it takes to get lines in on Bayscribe versus DQS, I really don't notice since I don't punch a clock with MDI. I no longer worry about my lph or how many hours I'm working. I just work at it in little chunks throughout the day.
Good luck at MDI - I can't wait to get out of the Q, but like you, I want to hang onto it for a little while yet.
I just started with OSI a month ago.
So far they've been great. Everybody is really nice. Plenty of work. Decent account, some ESL's, but not any worse than normal. I have 20 years experience and was a CMT (until I decided it wasn't worth it). I would say give them a try. I don't know what you've read in the archieves, but when I was looking, they seemed to be one of the ones with fewer negative comments than some of the others. Good luck.
I started with them a month ago
The account I'm on is an acute care account and because I work at night I have more facilities feeding in to me than day time people, so that part gets a little tough. Plus, 90% of what I do are ESL docs.......that gets old.
QA is wonderful and helpful to work with, but they are VERY particular. The only thing I don't like about the platform is you can't go in and look at what they've change in your reports. You're completely dependent upon QA giving you feedback -which they are very good about doing, but I still like to see the reports and what has been changed or not. It's just what I'm used to..
It's a good company. The people are nice and very communicative. I am struggling with my accuracy percentage and getting my lines, but a lot of it is that I'm fairly new to this particular type of care and there are a lot of terms, drugs, and bacteria that I have to look up.
They started me at a decent line rate and I have had two checks so far and the lines that they paid me for were spot on with what I had kept track of.
I just started within the last month or so with TT VR...
I had done VR for another company a few years ago, and I enjoy it as it is a nice break, so training for VR at TT was a breeze. I was up to speed within a day or so, but with the change to a majority of VR that I now get on my accts and low work or no work every day, I would say my pay has been cut in half approximately. I have 2 accts. There is just no work anymore. They say they are getting new accts, but not sure how that will help my accts have more work. I hope that helps.
Depends on what they have available. I started a month ago with a
:-)
Clarifying, I started the first day of the month
which made it worse as far as the wait on that first paycheck, but I think no one should have to wait as long as they make you wait. I believe it is one pay period. Is that right KS MT? I guess the later you start in the pay period, the less long it seems to be though it to me was still too long.
be very wary. I started a month ago with sm
a company that had an account for at least six months. All of a sudden it dwindled to nothing. I questioned nad questioned and they didn't know anything but were going to check into it. All of a sudden I get an e-mail, out of the blue that said effectively immedatiely we would no longer be doing this account.
It could be the move with your doctors, but just keep your eyes open. These docs still need their work done and why would they let it back up like that without making some arrangements?
It took nearly a month after I passed the test before I started with Diskriter! SM
I was referred by a friend. I spoke with the HR person, took the test, and was told I passed with flying colors. I was told that a job offer was merely a formality and that I should go ahead and give two weeks notice at my other job which I did. I then waited a week before I actually got an official job offer. Then I was sent the paperwork. It was unbelievable! I had to have a physical exam by my physician and have him fill out their questionaire. I had to find a drug testting facility on my own and do a drug test. I had to have a TB test AND they wanted a chest x-ray as part of my physical exam. Then there was the background check and reference check. You would have thought I was going to work for the CIA and required high security clearance or something. Then I was told there was a problem with my references. They had asked me for two professional and two personal references which I gave them. They called my personal references and asked them if I was a good Transcriptionist and a good employee. Diskriter told me that none of my references were valid because no one had actually worked with me. Then I had to clarify that they had called my personal references and if they would simply call the professional references, the would get the answers they were looking for! It took them three more days to get it straight.
Finally, I was so fed up, I told them I refused to get a chest x-ray and I thought all of this was insane for a simple at-home job. I was so upset because I had gone two weeks without earning any kind of paycheck while I waited for them to check how frequently I go to the bathroom! I felt like a show dog jumping through every single hoop for a job that ended up being not worth it at all.
I feel for ya and all I can say is they weren't a bad company to work for, I just had an incompetent supervisor with very poor communicating skills.
Good luck!
I started there about a month ago. My two accts are good. Not sure on the switching nm
Call them. Something is not right. I was hired a month ago and started 2 weeks ago. sm
Call Laura or Becky in the office. They are both in tomorrow.
Just started it last month. It is nice and easy to learn
as long as you have experience with ExText or ExSpeech....All the things I thought were flukey with ExSpeech have now been corrected in EX Editor. You will enjoy it.
I was told several new accts are coming on this month and also next month, so
I'm not worrying.
Pay period goes from 1st of the month to the 15th, then 16th to the end of the month. sm
So, I guess you could maybe get by with less than 1000 a day, although the incentive tier would make it worth your while to do a bit more. I am using ExText, and yes, I find it easy to use, but then I used it for a year with another company. I think their other platform is Mongoose, and I know nothing about that, so really cannot say.
Yes, they are hiring now. In fact, there is a $500 sign-on bonus. I think it is all just acute care. I'm sure they would love to have someone with your experience. Rhonda Durham is the recruiter. I am sure she could answer any of your questions. I am happy to help too, if I can, but I am relatively new. The account I am working on is mostly psych, it seems, and I am loving it.
Another nice thing, their benefits start after 60 days, not 90 like most.
Good luck to you.
I was hired and started in 1 week. That is not a long set-up time. When I started with our local h
I needed to get a physical and go through orientation at the hospital which is only given two times per month. This is a 900-bed hospital, so it cannot be an unusual process. MQ took 2 weeks. KS took 1 week. SoftScript never got me started even after repeated calls and emails.
I have only been with KS for 9 months but would never put them in the same catagory as the others you mentioned. They are the best company I have worked for, and unfortunately, I have bounced around a little in the last 5 years.

TransHealth starts 1st day of month after month SM
you start, BC/BS, good rate on single, don't know about family premium.
Last month was slow on my account..but this month (sm)
we've been swamped...
The new insurance is very reasonable. I pay $200/month and they pay $200/month. sm
Unfortunately, I have had to use it a lot since it changed and I am very happy. They have covered everything.
The insurance is actually $80 cheaper per month than I paid at the local hospital, which is a large employer.
$$ per month
I am trying to compare nationals versus working at a hospital. Please respond if you have time.
For all of you working for a national, what do average making per month? How many hours per day? Do you work for one doctor, a clinic, or a hospital?
I, personally, would like to make $2500 to $3000 per month but don't. Is that unrealistic? Currently, I only average around $1800 and this is with no benefits; I have flexibility but no benefits.
What transcripton platform do you guys find to be the most productive for you?
I realize you can't have everything, but you do have to live; also, I am trying to stay home because of my son, i.e., taking him to school, being there for school functions, sport's activities, etc.
$$ per month
I make around 5-6K per month and have done so for 4 years running. I work around 45 hours a week with rotating accounts. I do get a high line rate of 12.5 per 65-character line.
A MONTH! What do they tell you when you
call or email them? I'm not waiting a month. I was hoping to get started this week as it is a new pay period and all. Wow. Good luck to you.
about a month

Exactly - that's why every month...sm
when they post the anniversaries there are plenty of employees with the company with 1-27 year anniversaries.
In my second month with MW on EXT..sm
I have had very few issues. For the most part the sound quality is good. A couple bad docs but that is par for the course for a facility that size. Several ESL but some of them are better than the English-speaking I have done in past! I have had no issues making lines if I stay on-task **grin** I am happy I went with them. Hope this helps.....
Been there almost a month now -sm
I don't mind it at all. It didn't take me long to get used to everything. I did get paid and I think fairly. I check my line counts in my own way and I've found them to be perfectly accurate.
Every job is going to have difficult dictators. You know what they say, there's one in every crowd (okay maybe with doctors, there's more than one), but you'll have that anywhere.
They're extremely professional and treat you the same. I agree with the other poster, don't expect anybody to hold your hand there. So if you can stand on your own 2 feet, go for it.
P.S. I pay about $200/month
for two people and this is the highest end insurance (BC/BS PPO) through my hospital.
I was with them for about a month and during that month
I had maybe one week of work. The rest I was out. Pay was so so. QA was a little strange about fixing things that were not wrong to begin with (changing six weeks to six week when it should have stayed weeks). I am still puzzling over that one. Anyway, more often than not, QA was wrong, but you could not tell them that.
it's the 1st of the month after your - sm
90 days are up. So if you got hired Feb 15 then your insurance would kick in on June 1
Just in the last month
there was a post here about someone not being paid. My experience is from a couple of years ago, but in the two years since, I've seen posts here from time to time from people complaining about not being paid. Search the posts from the last month...you'll see someone just complaining about not being paid by them.
$26/month -- nm

I got one of those too a month ago or so
I believe this is from the same joint that is recruiting for the sQuid. I was tempted to look into it at the time but I had heard that the health insurance benefits offered by *S* had gone down the crapper. If you're interested, I'm sure you have nothing to lose. It would be nice if you could get job details without having to spend hours on testing first.
Was she AC for only a month or somebody else?
?
last month it was
Transtech was the greatest. This month's featured flavor -- Keystrokes. I am getting whiplash watching the stampede from place to place.
Been there just over a month
and I LOVE it. My production has doubled from that of my old job (I am now doing at least 2500 lines a shift). The pay is always on time and is direct deposited. I have a great ER account and always have tons of work. They did get a ton of new accounts recently, and that is why the have been hiring lots. I would recommend them to anyone.
I pay less than $200 a month
Hospital employee status through Diskriter. Different plans with different rates are available (depending on which hospital), but I have the most expensive choice available from my hospital(PPO).
that would be *A* month. sorry

RC-pay is once a month
Pay is once a month.
They had an ad about a month ago I believe.
5 cpl at Medquist as a new MT grad - so people say!
No. They have until the end of the month.

13,500 A MONTH? (SM)
Can you please share how many hours you put in to make this much? Where do you work?
14,500 a month....nm

once a month pay
I'm afraid I don't trust employers that only pay once a month. That tells me they have to get paid before they can pay their employees. That's never a good sign.
I was there 1 month...sm
...and still on QA @ 7 cpl...I have 20+ years experience. You will starve working for these people.
A month WOW! nm

I will be 54 this month....so are we the sm
same vintage??? LOL
I know you are not painting them all the same but it is a problem the way the MT field has become. I think there is a bigger market for experienced MTs and there will be in this country in the future. With all the jobs going to India, the ones that are left are going to be the ones that will be picky and hire us.
These MTs don't realize they are burning their bridges and are going to be out on their butts and its going to be their own faults.
Email me if you like.

I pay $45 per month for
It's truly unlimited - have never been billed one cent more in the 1-1/2 years I've had it, and have used up to 15,000 minutes a month. Plus it's an analog line so even if your power goes out, you still have phone service (I keep an old-fashioned princess phone handy so I can plug it directly into the wall, rather than use my remote phone which, of course, requires electricity!) And analog is a much more stable than voip so there are no annoying disconnects.
I see that nowadays it's called the All Distance package (unlimited local and long distance) and they're advertising $40 per month. Hope this helped.
