I know that they are very busy and it sounds like they are getting even busier. It took about a week after I took the test to hear, but I was told there were over 100 people taking tests and they were picking the best scores.

Phoenix Medcom- Another apply a few months back, ask to take a test and never heard back??
I applied a month or two ago, received an email from someone asking if I would take a test and said she was getting ready to go on vacation for a week, so I hurried and immediately and told her I'd love to take the test. I never heard back. I waiting thinking she went on vacation and would contact me when she got back to do the test but nothing...very strange..Just wondered if this happened to anyone else.
I took over a week for them to get back to me, and I took a test over the phone, but that was SM
several years ago. Dont now about now.
I heard back within 3 or 4 days...
and other than low pay, it is indeed a great place to work! They do give quarterly bonuses which helps a bit to cushion the 7 cpl (for clinic work). Good luck.
I heard back from her in 3 days
I tested and was asked to interview 3 days after my test. I accepted the position and then received my acceptance later 2 days later. If it's been 3 days, I would probably write and ask about the status of your application. She is pleasant and answered my emails in a very timely manner, which was nice.
So good to know! I took the test but have not heard back

I don't think I will take the job, but do you know if they even hire ICs?  Just so I know!  TXs

Anyone heard back in the last week from Precyse,
nm
Tested last week, have not heard back either.

I did apply, heard back, and took the first part of their test. nm
nm
Still haven't heard back from JLG recruiter ...it's been a week!
x
Guess I didn't. Heard back within a day of taking the test, sm
but that was several years ago.  Depends on current recruiters, I guess.
Tested there 10 days ago and never heard a word back..guess I failed! nm

I just heard back that I passed the test and they asked when it was convenient to contact me by phon

I was hired and started in 1 week. That is not a long set-up time. When I started with our local h
I needed to get a physical and go through orientation at the hospital which is only given two times per month. This is a 900-bed hospital, so it cannot be an unusual process. MQ took 2 weeks. KS took 1 week. SoftScript never got me started even after repeated calls and emails.

I have only been with KS for 9 months but would never put them in the same catagory as the others you mentioned. They are the best company I have worked for, and unfortunately, I have bounced around a little in the last 5 years.

Maybe she/he works 14 hour days/7 days a week? nm

I took a test for a company and my foot pedal would work with the test and I had keep going back
over the dictation time and again to get all the words because I couldnt stop and start it by the foot pedal.  What can I do about this.
Has everyone heard back from Keystrokes yet regarding the email we received a while back?
Just wandering why I haven't heard any response yet.
I sent them an email back in August and never heard back sm
Is this company on Long Island? I checked out their website and even tried calling once. Were you successful in contacting them? All i know is that the company is owned by some doctors.

Hopefully, you will hear back. Unfortunately, I immediately heard back from MD-IT
but somehow with over 16 years of experience, I blew the test.  I was soooo disappoionted and yet pretty stunned.  I am by no means perfect but I haven't flunked a test in years.  I expected it in my early years but not this far down the road. I was so confident and they will not tell you which part you did not pass and why so it really just blew my mind.  I must have been in shock for like two hours after I got the email. Oh well, someone will want me....hopefully.  I was thinking about OSi but I don't think I could take another rejection if I never heard back.
Not so true. I started at 10.5 and went to 11 after QA, which took 2 days.
You can negotiate!
I started 3 weeks ago, was on 3 days.

I started at 8.5, benies after 90 days sm
and the benefits are very reasonably priced, with different plans to choose from. Family atmosphere, VERY helpful and polite QA.

Can't say enough good things, but that is not what you asked about!
I started about 10 days after being hired
But I had to wait for them to ship me the equipment and get my DSL installed.  I think they always start you out on a Monday.  Welcome!
I took their test 2 days ago

I took the test for Transolutions 7 days ago and haven't heard anything as of yet, sent back Keystrokes questionaire 4 days ago, nothing yet. If they're all supposedly hiring, why we waiting?

Maybe they're busy sorting through resumes and tests, and it just takes awhile.  I'm keeping the positive attitude so far.

I passed test and started very next day
It was a 50 question transcription test on their website.  Open book and not timed.  I think I missed one.  Recruiter called, verified employment and I started the very next day.  That was three months ago and so far so good.  Medware has been keeping me busy and I especially like the direct deposit every other Friday.  The bonus of an extra 1/2 cpl for 6000/week gives me $60 more for my mad money every pay, but that usually goes for groceries.
If it is the one I think it is, I started taking the test and -sm
It was the actual doctor that would be the client, and the names of the clients were on the test......!!!!  Can you say HIPAA ?????  I immediately stopped the test and did not even respond to the recuriter.  Definately not right no matter what it is...
I just started this week sm
It took 5 days to receive the equipment and the paperwork. I was looking for it well before then, they DID 2-day FedEx it and it took 4. I live in a very small town where we don't get mail delivery to your house, you get have a box in town and FedEx comes up here 2 or 3 times a week, depending. It sat at the terminal for over 24 hrs before they put on it on a truck to go out. I don't really think it is TT's fault about this because of the situation.

I called them when I didn't get it after 2 days, and then 3 days and I called them the minute it showed up on Friday. The IT guy stays late and I was installed early evening, so it won't have to be before 6, but the training will have to be.

Pick up the phone and tell them you are waiting. Ask them to check the routing through the FedEx website (they gave me the routing number to watch it). As long as you don't go on the attack, they are not going to be upset with you. I wanted and needed to get to work as fast as I could and while it took 10 days, it was entirely WORTH IT.

This is my 2nd full day, I have been released off of QA and I have managed on day 1 to transcribe the company line quota. I am telling you, lines are easy to make, ExText is wonderful for ME to use and the people...I don't think there is a nicer staff of people in this industry!

You'll be happy, so call them and see what can be done. Heaven forbid you sit there while FedEx screws you out of a really good MT job!
Just started this week too.
So far I really like it. I was offered a nice line rate. The platform is easy, but it can be slow to look up samples, but once I get used to the account, I won't need to look up samples as much. The dictators on my account are very easy. I have not run into an ESL or difficult doctor yet. Everyone has been very helpful. I have IM contacts so I have help immediately whenever I need it. IMO waiting a month to get paid is not unusual. You get paid 2 weeks after the pay period ends, which is how I got paid at my in-house jobs. Most companies will require a week or two to process all the payroll, so I don't see how that is a big deal. I currently only have one account that seems pretty busy, but I was told if it ever slows down I can take on more accounts as they have lots of accounts in all different specialties. I also like that they are completely flexible with a very small requirement (only 1800 lines a week). As I said, so far I really like it and I don't see myself going anywhere any time soon. In fact, if I can get my speed up on this account soon, I will most likely be dropping my first company.
I started with them last week
I applied on their website and answered the 50 question test.  The recruiter called me the same day and after we talked they sounded really nice.  I did some research on this board and then accepted the position.  I started last Monday and their software is really easy to learn and I really like my account.  The trainer was nice and I also liked the 12 hour window.  Very happy so far and I think I found a new home.  HTH.
Started this week
I graduated about a month ago, really seemed to hit it just right. Landed a FT job w/a national. So far it has been great--exhausting, info overload, but wonderful! Wanted 2nd shift, got it, not S-Th like I wanted, but that's ok. I applied at every good company I had seen on the chat boards, this is the only one that bit. But they were in my top 3, so I am very grateful. Very nice people so far too. Seems to be plenty of work on my account, FT benes, production bonus.

Oh, and I graduated from MTEC, just to put that out there. ;)
Just started a week ago and so far

everything is going pretty well.  Everyone has been really nice and helpful.  I really love not being tied to a strict schedule.

I just started this week. (sm)
So far it is everything they said it would be - which is great. No surprises. The account I am on seems really good too.
I started 3 days after being hired by Keystrokes and have been there since
June. I love my account and have no complaints.
Ortho yes, sorry but took the test more than 3 days ago and
YES, I was told they get 150 emails a day and to be patient... she DID call and did tell me not to call back because she is impossible to get on the phone and is on the phone all day. Why would I make that UP?
10,000 a week...them days are gone SM
Those were also the days where you were paid for headers/footers, spaces and for bolding/underlining.  The counting that is done at almost every major service now is bare bones (and uncounted entering/searching for demographics and CCs) and if you are getting 12,000 a pay period you're doing good.
not so much the days of the week, but rather

the time of the day -- 5 o'clock rush hour seems to be the busiest where I work Mon-Fri.  The weekends are a little busy mid morning/early afternoon.  I try to adjust my schedule so I'm working more during those hours and getting things done around the house in the morning hours when it's not as busy.  Of course, with kids, that's not always optimal, but I try!  In this day, I'm just thankful to have work.

I have at first a week ago, and the last few days a lot
Yesterday was really bad. I typed a very long consult and the system had not even counted it yet. It was over 13 minutes long and I still had a little over 100 or something lines from the few reports I had just typed. I decided to look to make sure that the report was sent. It was there. There were 4 reports and only a little over 100 lines still. I decided to wait the hour the system says to wait to recheck to make sure the new line count was there. I never got to it because to be honest, I was afraid it was short. The total later for the day was shorter than what I usually get. So I am assuming the upgrades for VR and traditional have changed the way they count lines. But I am not sure and you should contact your mgr. I don't want to spread rumors or make mistakes. I can say I do feel a difference. Certainly right away, and then even later on after system updates. On the whole, I think it could be 10 percent, but I have to wait a full payperiod to be sure. It might just be me being paranoid, though, so I will wait and see... Good luck to you and us all!
I started with Amphion last week, and
specifically asked the recruiter if they send work offshore. She said that they considered it at one time, but would absolutely never do it now in light of the lawsuits and the fact that there are no HIPAA requirements outside the US. I believe that she was telling the truth. I was hesitant to try a national again after a one-month disaster with TRS last year, but my experience has been good so far.
mine's started this week nm

Just started this week. I really think it is going to be great. nm

I just started actually typing last week. sm
When I hired in they asked what size I wanted for MT week. I haven't gotten it yet but probably will this week. I was impressed they even asked and I hadn't even started. They are wonderful to work for.
No this is not true. I got hired in December and started 3 days later. sm
I am glad I made the move.
I did the test last week...
didn't have any difficulty filling in the blanks, but still haven't heard back from them. I thought the test stated that we would hear back no matter what the decision, so maybe they are still going through everything??
I took their test last week,

and I passed it. They sent me back an email saying that they were on a hiring freeze because of changes that were being made to the company. The email also said they would keep my resume on file. I know that companies make lots of excuses for not hiring new MTs, but this doesn't sound like one.

It took nearly a month after I passed the test before I started with Diskriter! SM

I was referred by a friend.  I spoke with the HR person, took the test, and was told I passed with flying colors.  I was told that a job offer was merely a formality and that I should go ahead and give two weeks notice at my other job which I did.  I then waited a week before I actually got an official job offer.  Then I was sent the paperwork.  It was unbelievable!  I had to have a physical exam by my physician and have him fill out their questionaire.  I had to find a drug testting facility on my own and do a drug test.  I had to have a TB test AND they wanted a chest x-ray as part of my physical exam.  Then there was the background check and reference check.  You would have thought I was going to work for the CIA and required high security clearance or something.  Then I was told there was a problem with my references.  They had asked me for two professional and two personal references which I gave them.  They called my personal references and asked them if I was a good Transcriptionist and a good employee.  Diskriter told me that none of my references were valid because no one had actually worked with me.  Then I had to clarify that they had called my personal references and if they would simply call the professional references, the would get the answers they were looking for!  It took them three more days to get it straight.

Finally, I was so fed up, I told them I refused to get a chest x-ray and I thought all of this was insane for a simple at-home job.  I was so upset because I had gone two weeks without earning any kind of paycheck while I waited for them to check how frequently I go to the bathroom!  I felt like a show dog jumping through every single hoop for a job that ended up being not worth it at all.

I feel for ya and all I can say is they weren't a bad company to work for, I just had an incompetent supervisor with very poor communicating skills.

Good luck!

I work three days a week ...

8 hours a day, but I often times have to be physically at the computer longer than 8 hours because sometimes the work is slow.  I have two accounts.  I work no weekends.

At least we don't have to work 7 days a week (unless we want to)
nm
Forgot to say that's 5 days a week

Laurie - you should have said, I don't need 3 days, I need a week!

You may have kept your job, maybe not.  Not sure you wanted to.  Even if 3 days is the standard issue here - didn't your company have someone to back you up on your account?  Is there that much work there?  No sense in second guessing yourself now.  What is done is done.  While different people in your place would handle it different ways, I bet this manager will think twice in the future before being so COLD.  You never know, they may call you and want you to come back, so think about that a bit too.

I am sorry you are without income/job now but like the above post to mine said, you need to complete a grieving process before you worry about this.  Job searching is hard work and you are probably not up to it yet.  Be ready to move on before you tackle this business again.  I don't mean to sound cold because I lost my dad in 1986 and cried for 3 years, but you have to be able to focus to take on a job search, much less be able to learn new platforms and accounts.  It certainly takes more than 3 days and even more than a week. My heart goes out to you.  Good luck.
