I was in your exact situation, and people on this board told me to stay put. Since I left the hospital I was at and went with WebMedX full-time, I've more than doubled my income, and I've never regretted it for a second. If I regret anything, it's not getting out of there sooner! Benefits are very affordable, and I get a PPO rather than an HMO.
Everyone is different, so you have to ask yourself what works for you. If you learn quickly, are fast, can handle ESLs, don't really care if you have multiple accounts so long as you have work, then I think you'll do quite well at a service.
A lot of the nationals seem horrible from these boards, so I don't blame you for being nervous. But there are good companies out there.
What I would do if I were you: Try out working for a national part-time, so you can see for yourself how you like the work, software, managers, etc. If you like it - great, ask about full-time. If not, then you haven't quit the hospital. That's what I did, and it worked great for me. Plus, by the time you are full-time, you'll have that many more macros and normals to help you with your speed/accuracy.
